- Hear me out. Turnover issues have plagued Jeff Sims both at Georgia Tech and now at Nebraska. Those issues have cost Nebraska essentially two games. But I'm here to tell you that Jeff Sims is not as Bad as you think and he's actually played solid outside of those turnovers and in this video I'll give you evidence here.
I always love your videos on Nebraska. I’d love to see the same kind of video on Haarberg. Thank you Brian!
That's a good idea. I'll see what I can do before the LaTech game
@@draftbrian I share your content with anyone I think would enjoy it. Question, why are you so knowledgeable about Nebraska?
@@HuskerMinnie I"m an Alumn of the University who grew up in the state and I also write for Corn Nation
* also what’s going on with our left tackle? Neither qb can do there job effectively
Please and thank you 🙏
@@HuskerMinnie Corchan has struggled at LT but is their best option there until Prochazka is healthy.
Yeah he only panned out to be the worst Power 5 (at the time) QB of all time. I would’ve rather had Deacon Hill than this dude
Refreshing to see a rational look at Sims instead of all the emotional fools gold Nebraska fans have been grabbing
Appreciate the kind words.
Heres the thing, Haarberg hasnt been starting for multiple years like Sims. The fact that he has not turned it over and has done as much if not more than sims with all of these piling injuries. Sims also didnt perform very good against a terrible Colorado defense, that defense is equal or worse than the ones haarberg has played against. Now haarberg has a win over a serviceable defense in Illinois. We shouldnt expect him to outperform the multi year starter, yet he is, he will and he even has the remaining eligibility to develop in game.
It's one thing to say, "hey I like Haarberg, he's got some flaws that aren't costing Nebraska games and the team is winning." That's ok. But so many Nebraska fans are just hung up on his turnovers (they're a big deal) that it jades their true evaluation of these two quarterbacks. Haarberg has done some very good things. But he's also been very lucky. There is probably 3 to 4 interceptions that were dropped. He's had fumbles and drops snaps that the team has fallen on. It looks like Sims is fully healthy now and I like that they're continuing to ride with Haarberg going forward. They should. But to say that Haarberg has flat outplayed Sims, then you're lying to yourself.
So after today you want to change your stance?
I wasn’t able to watch the game super close. I’ll let you know when I do tonight or tomorrow morning. But my biggest thing was I thought he deserved a second chance. He got that today. If Purdy is healthy I’d like to see him get a shot
Sims has the yips. At Georgia tech he did the same thing. He moved the ball and made plays that made you go woah dudes good. But he would turn the ball over in bad spots. (When they are driving, or when the momentum is on the other teams side.) it’s a problem he has to get figured out. I feel bad for him. If he didn’t have this problem he’d be a great college QB cuz he moves the ball .
Keep up the good content brian!
Thanks, I appreciate it
