It's not that many of them do not want you to know, many of them cannot grasp the concept of permanent codes. They see a code they think FAIL!! But there was mandatory training on this subject so they all should technically know about this.

Great video and got me in the right direction. My Launch, you can choose exactly the live datastream to show so I am not clicking back and forth as you did. I chose just "how many miles since cleared dtcs", "engine temp" and "warm up cycles." My car was cold when I started around 65f, started the car and watched the temp go up and in the same screen showing the warm up cycles. It got to 158f and the warm up cycle went to the next number which is 3 (I had 2). I already have the miles (458), but now have 12 more warm up cycles to go. At least I don't have to spend a lot of gas money driving it and just need to let it get cold (I'll try under 135f as you stated) and do another cycle. Thanks again.

Fyi: Car/truck needs to have 15 warmup cycles and 200 miles driven, regardless if the permanent dtc clears or no. The smog machine will pass it if 15/200 was performed. As long as you don’t have the actual code current.

You could have used that scan tool to force the evap monitor to run in a few minutes. Then road test. All manufacturers have different criteria for what constitutes a drive cycle. They fail your smog if the NGC loses com with the BCM? Oof. Chryslers must generate a lot of revenue, alot of them I see, the dash is lit up like a Christmas tree.
