Funny how Shao praises Havik's flooding of Saido (probably because it was strategically brilliant), and yet Reiko (Shao's most loyal second in command) is utterly disgusted by the flooding. Shows Reiko can make his own opinions regardless if his General approves of it or not.
Makes you wonder what Reiko would think if he heard Shao’s opinion
Reiko only has a problem with the means while Shao was solely focused on the ends
Reiko here is shown as a warrior through and through, he most likely saw Seido's flooding as a cowardly move by not subduing it via Kombat

In his mind, gutting and mutilating the enemy is more honorable than flooding them or using powerful magic

Despite all the heinous acts and atrocities he commited, I still like to think that Havik is a tragic figure. At least, in this timeline. Taking into account all his descriptions of Seido, that sounds like a very nightmarish place to live. Remember back in Mortal Kombat Deception? Hotaru and his guardsmen could be pretty ruthless and heartless. Even if they wanted to preserve and impose the law.
Havik says here he (and others) was brutally tortured in Seido, even for the pettiest of crimes. He was an oppressed slave there. Seido isn't a majestic place we all thought. If Havik turned out like this, it's because of Seido law enforcers.
Too much oppression leads to rebellion, which leads to anarchy and chaos. Seido people created this trouble themselves.
Havik isn’t exactly a reliable source. He’s a lunatic not too different from the antifa goons we have now, seeing fascism where it doesn’t exist, and using their paranoia and delusions to justify their thuggery and violence.
How? Seido's people are innocent and Havik's excuses are nothing but fake excuses so he can continue playing victim when he's supposed to just confess that he killed the innocents for the sake of evil and chaos.
This means Havik's tragedy is fabricated and faked.

I want to take a moment and appreciate the fact that both heroes and villains are amazingly nuanced in this entry, feels refreshing to see their conflict is leaning more into a battle of ideals rather than just moustache twirlers. I like that!

As usual, the interaction dialogues are far more interesting than the main story itself
@@PreeSpunkyyeah like, Havik is just a goon in the campaign, Reiko is a lapdog, and Shao just wants war because. They can def do better with the characters there.
@PreeSpunky their dialog takes place after the story's events. Thus it just peaks at the next games story ect as well things have changed.
@@valeclaw1697 To me that's something that comes with the territory, these are a lot of characters and you can only get them to do so much for a 3-4 hour story, I did like that both Havik and Nitara had their own cause to help the Deadly Alliance, it wasn't just evil for the sake of evil.
Shao is a bit comedic in how bad he wants war, but I like that it's mostly wounded pride at losing to Earthrealm, getting amplified into straight war mongering thanks to the sorcerer stoking those fears.
The writing could be better ofc, but in general I consider it an improvement from MK11, and I loved MK11.
@@valeclaw1697reiko and havik that’s absolutely true, but in story shaos reasons are a bit more than just because, he doesn’t trust liu Kang at all and grows more and more frustrated that sindel won’t listen. You get further in depth in the intros but story mode presents a villain with at least a point of view he believes in

This has already been confirmed in one of the Intros with Shang Tsung. Havik can regenerate his face, but he doesn't want to.

In the new timeline he is from order realm, Quan Chi gave him, his regenerative powers and the capital Seido was destroyed by Rain and him, after that he wants to call it chaos realm

Would seem that havik out of all the villains including Titan versions succeeded in his own quest. Yet he is still a very young version of the cleric, the flood that rain caused will become Havoks gospels of flow untethered. In Liu kangs new era, he struck the greatest blow to a realm we haven’t gone to yet, this could also be a set up for a dlc story for what’s left of seido as well as titan havik
I like to imagine that Rain and Havik had a funny little talk after drowning Seido, like:
Havik: Yes! Finally! Anarchy is mine!
Rain: Uh...yeah. What are you gonna do now?
Havik: ...I don't know. I never thought I'd get this far.
we need more Havik as Dairou. hope the story expansion will bring us to Seido.

Dude, seriously, Havik gives off Atrocius vibes in this. Just the thought of him with a Red Ring is absolutely terrifying. With the amount of rage he has, plus his regenerative abilities, once he has a Red Ring... yeah, everyone's fucked.

I like the nuance and lack of self awareness(alongside his insanity) has led him to believe that order should be crushed, but atrocities just as bad, if not worse than his oppressors are ok when he does it, but also leaders should be chosen, but also he's in charge of a revolution and admits Seido cowers before him, but as he said to Lui Kang, choosing to serve Lui Kang makes them slaves, so his followers are slaves to him too even if they chose to.
His ideaology fundamentally doesn't work cause it makes it impossible for anyone to to work together cause working together makes you a slave to somebody. And his rage makes him totally ok with committing atrocities despite one of his biggest gripes being excessive punishment for minor crimes. He seeks power and to impose his ideals on everyone, yet that's exactly what order realm wanted, and makes him a tyrant and dictator.
It's interesting. I really hope the end credit scene leads to a dlc story, or is the build up to the next game. If it's DLC then Hotaru better be a part of the character pack, or if it's a new game Hotaru should be a base game character. And right now there is no orderrealm representative in base or in the first fighter pack.

I really have a taste of always being interested in Characters that are not neccesarily the Most Iconic Faces of the Franchise, but Oh Man! Havik could be a very Unknown and Darkest Character for many Main Stream People, but he's such a Sickest Character for being interest to know and play. Main Reason for get MK1 in the future, along with Mileena (obviously Hehe)

@@yum-in3vpeeeh, not really, this havik is more of a mix of darrius and dairou, only things he has similar to havik are the design and powers, he still wants chaos yes, but original havik wants more of a religious and neutral chaos, this havik is more revolutionary and against orderealm's dictatorship just like darrius, and has suffered because of orderrealm just like dairou.
To be honest if it wasn't for the powers, he could've been either darrius or dairou and nothing would've changed

Yeah, in the original timeline they were separate characters. Dairou was ostracized by Order Realm so in the new timeline, they merged Havik and Dairou together. A person that sees the bad parts of Order Realm and wants to break it all down while the original Havik wanted Chaos for Chaos' sake. While I like the depth added to the character, I can't help but miss the wild side of the old Havik. I mean, does someone who preaches Chaos really need a reason to do so? Well yeah they could but you could very well have a character like Joker who just spreads chaos for little to no reason (other than to cause trouble for Batman that is).

Havik in this is basically what Fox News thinks an Anarchist is. Pretty far cry from the Cleric of Chaos who spread chaos not out of self righteousness, but because it was the chaotic thing to do. I realise they're trying to rewrite the characters to have more depth, but I feel Havik being a chaotic force of nature with very little depth beyond just wanting to spread chaos was half the appeal.
