I’m sure everyone knows the answer to this but I can’t help myself. Know what the difference is between a King Air and a Queen Air?
The Queen Air has jugs. I crack myself up!

I used to work on these QueenAires at Bemidji Airlines, back when they still flew scheduled passenger service. The IO-720s were robust, but keep your cooling baffles in good condition. The rear cylinders were prone to heat damage, especially exhaust valves and valve guides starting about 150 hours before scheduled overhaul.
    Great aircraft though, enjoy!

Funny, after years of restoring WWII aircraft damaged and a beautiful exotic Beech 43 Staggerwing that bellied in, I ended up nicknamed Baffling Idiot, Where every aircraft needed major makeover of new baffling.
Like you say, quite critical as the ends of cylinders do move around just enough during heat phases, to stress mounting holes of baffling. Let alone scrubbed to death on cowlings.
I wasn't there at the time, but some aircraft were special built to go missionaries in Africa,
Pilot landed in Iceland to refuel, and on take off he lost entire jug, and crashed in the ocean, which was more than likely caused by baffling issue.
      Cheers

Flew the Beech 65-B80 Excalibur in the Caribbean in the 90s. 1500 feet strips and St Barth, no problem. Such a lovely aircraft to fly. I believe it was sold to the US around 2008 after the company folded.

@@KerryDMcCauley It was no problem at all even before the hill was lowered and the final approach slightly flattened. With that soft landing gear it just settled down. We used to fly Princess Di there on her 'escapes' 😂.
Used to be YT videos of V2-LDO landing, but they're gone now. Saw this of a Beech 200. Never saw one there. Like you said, one needs prior training/certification before landing in SBH, hence most operators are commercial.
I did see a Conquest 2. He landed after several go-arounds, only to put the main landing gear struts through the wing!

There was a woman in a Cessna 172 landing in front of me after shooting an RNAV approach. She most likely would have been off the runway by the time I landed but there was no reason to push it. Besides, it gave me an excuse to do some low level maneuvering, which I like!

Every approach you should plan and rehearse a go around. Only land when EVERYTHING is as it should be. Once in a 767, I didn’t review the g/a procedure. Had to do a last minute g/a, and it was a cluster fxxx🤪. Never again. In retirement, I tool-around in my 1947 straight 35 bonanza.
