    Qui non era questione di prestigiose romanze d'opera ,qui era l'amore per i propri compaesani,per la propria patria,grazie di cuore hai dimostrato una volta di più quanto eri un uomo speciale.Le lacrime che mi stanno scendendo mi impediscono di andare oltre ma una ultima cosa .Ovunque tu sia ,che tu sia benedetto.Un bacio grande Franco

    His was the most impressive tenor I heard on stage. His voice was warm, lush and huge and he sang with great intensity. This concert is new to me and the first song I never heard.

    Dopotutto cantando canzoni di musica leggera la sua vocalità rimane sempre tenore,un po come Del Monaco,anche lui aveva interpretazioni di musica leggera però rimaneva con la vocalità da tenore....è appannaggio di pochi,perché se ben mi ricordo, Gigli cantava cambiando la sua voce facendola più leggera insomma più a canzonetta...saluti

      @@johnconway3834 I was trying to find Piscatore but I couldn't. After Roma is Surdato. Unless it happens somewhere else in the concert and I haven't found it yet.

      @@bobthebuilder2778 But it isn't, you see. Go ahead and check for yourself. Start playing at 25:40 and check for yourself. You will hear the end of Arrivederci, Roma, followed by O surdato 'nnammurato. There's no sign of Pescatore between those two songs. I'm not saying Pescatore isn't somewhere in this recording. But it's
      NOT
      in the place indicated in John Conway's list.

      It's not here. It's in New Jersey recital '62. 3rd to the last song. The one comes after I te vuria vasa.

      Corelli is my all-time favorite, true. But there are others who also approached greatness at times, and it wasn't just Caruso: among them Tauber, Melchior, Di Stefano, Bergonzi, Vickers, Pavarotti, Carreras, Shicoff, and a few others too.
