- This elevator always behaves like it's on crack because I clearly and intentionally did not select basement since it's staff only and nobody down there called it, but it went there anyway. In addition, no matter what you do, the elevator stops at EVERY SINGLE FLOOR when going back down. The maintenance guys who got on at the 3rd floor took this elevator out of service after I got off. Not sure why, but most likely because it's not needed after a certain time.
This was my first time riding a service elevator and it was quite interesting seeing one that isn't behind a staff only door or one that requires an elevator key to call. This is the only elevator in this building that is programmed to have the door close when you press a floor button. In the others, you have to wait for the door to close by itself. This is a feature that a building owner may have turned on or off by elevator technicians.
He probably knew you weren't done messing with it yet ;)
LMAO! Well I'd rather they take it out of service than try to kick me out of the hotel I'm a guest in.
The elevator at the far end is indeed in the shaft. It works sometimes but doesn't take much to go offline. It's just as glitchy as that service elevator. Most often it'll stop close to the floor you want, and right itself up or down a little before opening. Sometimes it just opens where it's at and you have to pay attention how much of a step up or down there is, if you're not entirely split between floors.
Ah ok. Must've been taken out of service with the kill switch on a different floor then.
@@BusMaster99 It is very often out of order and there's not always a sign.
Do these elevators have safety things so that if they break and start falling they will brake or have something else?
Yeah they have a safety brake.
@@BusMaster99 thats good to know
Sabbath mode?
No idea what that is. This thing is possessed lmao.
@@BusMaster99 This elevator appears to be set into Shabbat mode. If this is true, you should be able to wait around for the elevator to arrive, and it will go down one floor at a time, once it reaches the bottom it will go to the top and start again stopping at each floor. Without needing to press anything.
