The Schindler going down tone came from the hydrolic parking elevators that are in the same bank right next to the main ones. The door to the service elevators is unlocked and it is down the hall to the right and on the right.

I love the dinner bell in this Westinghouse! But how come it doesn't sound when stopping on some of the floors?
I just rode those elevators yesterday. I can tell that they have been modernized sence the last time I was there by the shape of the buttons. I also got to ride the elevator that dinged three times. I don't think that these elevators are too slow, but they could be faster. The elevators at the Ritz Carlton and the service elevators at the Onmi are slower than these.

I will have to say, the lifts on Charlotte are so much Better then the lifts on NYC!
@cpDq231 it's an old superstition with buildings and architects that the number 13 and therefore floor 13 is unlucky, so with building higher than 13 floors, floor 13 is often numbered as 14 or if it is included in the building, floor 3 is often an extra floor filled with things not a lot of people would use, like server rooms or janitor's closets etc.
DyceKendoka I don’t think there’s anything wrong with 13 at all. People just have superstitions because of Friday The 13th!

Or maybe it's an underground parking elevator, and it's either a 330a, 400a, or maybe a 6400na.
Some elevators ding three times for going down. I've seen it many times.
It is wired wrong when it does that.
I don't like when a nice hotel finds it necessary to use vandal resistant type fixtures. I love your work... but did you say "It 'dang' three times."? :-)
