Can an EK Honda Civic take on World Time Attack? - Project Race Car Build Ep#1

- Опубліковано 27 сер 2024
- The guys from Project Race Car have bitten off an even bigger project for 2022. Building a 1996 EK Civic into a World Time Attack Challenger.
We're probably going to be looking at the clubman class with this build, and no doubt is it going to be difficult, but with the support of Bosch Motorsport Australia we'll be documenting the journey.
Exploring how we go about making changes to a car that's basically stock and turn it into a track weapon. We may even K-swap it. Who knows.
Join Trav & Dan for episode 1 where we pick up the Civic and get it across to it's first track day to establish a bit of a base time at SMSP.

Well done guys, what could be better than building a race car..........definitely worth it!!!👍👍👍
We’re definitely excited by the build prospects ahead!
I have been watching all kinds of racing on this channel since Jordan Cox went bananas on Mt Panorama 4 or 5 years ago. This silly UA-cam algorithm just showed me your build video. I’m truly all about this build! That’s why I was a bit star struck to read that your channel noticed my little build on my channel.
I’d love to spin some wrenches on your TA car and crack a beer with the guys.
I’m excited to see what’s next! Cheers!
We're pumped the algorithm got this to you and you enjoyed it mate! & Definitely would welcome spinning some spanners!
Don't be starstruck by us, just a couple of regular guys having some fun and making our way! We actually have a Colorado connection as well, so maybe there will be that chance to check out your build on one of Dan's trips to visit family!
There's a little bit of racing from NASA a few years ago on the channel: ua-cam.com/video/fMy1x1DUh-w/v-deo.html
@@BlendLineTV that’s awesome! I’d be more than happy to have Dan over to check out the build.
I happen to also have an Australian connection, my wife and father-in-law are from there. I’ve only been once and we’re overdue to visit again. Our family is in and around Melbourne.
Nice one.. and good luck 👍
Thanks Paul, Appreicate it!
Good Job Dan!!!! glad you love that civic as much as we did!!! can't wait to see what you guys can do with it👍
Can't wait to hook into it and see what we can do!
I'm happy I found this channel! And now a time attack car so keen!
So cool Haydn, we're glad you're here! Hope you like the Time Attack build :)
We'll be learning along the way, so hopefully it'll be enjoyable.
Awesome Stuff Guys good luck in your Project I believe EK Civic will do you well!!
Thanks mate! We're looking forward to the adventure. Episode 2 coming soon, we learnt more stuff!
Fun fact
The spot in Laverton you guys picked it up from, the opening scene from Mad Max was filmed along Cherry Lane
That is awesome! We must admit we didn't even realise!
Too focused on picking up the car.
Hopefully we don't do a mad max action sequence of our own in this car! 😂
@@BlendLineTV i think that silver Falcon nearly did a Madmax scene for you guys 😅
The difference between a 2:09 and a 2:05 is just tyre pressures and balls
Sure is! We actually got down to a 2:00 by the final session of the night without any changes to the car.
That's a good option for getting into motor sport, definitely in my budget
It's all about the budget for us, and while we have valuable assistance from Bosch Motorsport, we needed something we could build ourselves within a what is a realistic opportunity for those of us with real world jobs :)
Watching from the states. Love this type of content I’m building a hatch on a grassroots budget. What wheels are those?
I think they are sprint harts
What are the rims on it?
Hahahah dont forget to put the sump plug on before the oil fill lol
hahahaha, Rookie Error!
People are sleeping on this
Thanks for the support Fries!
Hopefully future episodes we can get more people involved and part of the journey!
What happened ether Pulsar?
Still going, it's in the workshop being prepped for a season of racing. We're hoping to make the complete 300 series.
Of course we'll be documenting the whole process.
What engine is?

@@TURBOTRISTO Yup, she's just the standard motor.
