It's crazy to see how big yall grew, coming from the Ford Escort ZX3 that was supposed to be the track car, to now having a Civic K swap and winning 2 races, and being sponsored by these big brands, the transformation is super real. Keep the press😄
@@styre man, they were my role model when I was younger, I remember looking for videos on the legacy GT and this channel was the main thing to pop up. And then the attempt at the legacy wagon build attempt gravy. But now they're time attacking, icing on the cake, as younger me always wanted to get involved in it😁
Ben, the car looks STUNNING! This series is one of my favourite things to watch on UA-cam. Thank you for consistently delivering this level of quality in these videos, it gets me super hyped for my own projects!
I legit teared up at the reveal of the finished car. From aspiring young UA-camrs to bona fide, sponsored race winners. Keep on living the dream, guys.
Such a great design! Dynamic without letting the sponsors names become lost I. The graphics! Good job to everyone who designed, printed and applied the livery! Thank you to the sponsors for letting this be awesome! Good job Ben and Ben for being patient enough to get the sponsors whose products you actually want to use!
i think you have one of the most interesting car channel on the web I dont know why but the way you guys implement road trip, car breaking down on the road up to building a pure race car. I will be following you in the futurs i really like the videos about going on a road trip with ur best pal and sharing what happen is In my opinion the reason why we mods cars. i realized not long ago that you better to drive a civic with yours friend than driving a lamborghini alone! Good job!
The way this car turned out is amazing! I loved to watch the roadtrip were you guys took this little car and seeing that its now one of the leader cars on youtube is just the best thing. This little car has a soul and u kinda can see the smile in its face.
OOOH BOY! Them sponsors are here! This car now look as a PRO. All of the brands merge so well, the collors are on point man! Great job guys, many thanks to sponsors. Me myself could never afford to build a car like that, very happy to watch your videos.
First of all, that's probably one of the best looking Civics I've ever seen. Hands down. Valvoline cars always have such a great livery. Second, I know there's a racing school down by VIR, maybe it's worth looking into some of their advanced courses? I think they run 3-5K depending on if you bring a car and how long you're doing it for. Best of luck this season!
Just watched this video for a 2nd time. I think this is my favorite video of yours so far. Your usual quality in combination with such a major change to the car makes this one stand out.
It's amazing just how far the civic has come,it's very motivational too! Thank you guys for all the awesome content,as always I was nothing but impressed, quality videos in every aspect! And yes I'm still absolutely loving the Honda content....please keep em coming
Wow what an amazing build. That $5000 car has really come a long way from that first road trip. EK hatch was always one of my favorite cars, this build was very satisfying to watch
Amazing video, for an amazing car with an amazing livery. And I have to admit, I don't normally throw compliments at channels, videos, cars, liveries and people. Well done boys, well done!
Valvoline is easily one of the greatest and most historic liveries around. I hold it with gulf, martini, Marlboro and Castrol as one of the bests ever.
At 4:05 You put the NewNew on a dirty old Hub Face with buildup and rust marks from the old rotor pattern. This seemingly minute issue will cause the rotor (and wheel/tire) to be mounted in an offset plane -eventually causing rotor thickness variation which is the true cause of most brake pulsation issues. Most term the resulting RTV (rotor thickness variation) "warped rotors". They usually put another set on the same surface and start the process all over again. This can also cause wheel/tire assembly run-out and vibration issues, it takes a few minutes to clean up the face- and edge of the hub and it can be very rewarding! If you measure the run-out of the hub and put the high point with the low point of the rotor even better. Try and match your rotors/Hubs/wheels for the best overall run-out for the sets you have.
It requires no telling the videos are impeccable and a treat to see the thoughfulness of Ben behind all the works being done to the civic. BUT I wonder why anybody doesn't mention how good the music selection is in each and every Gears and Gasoline video. I usually shazam it all the time and they eventually make it to my driving playlist. haha. ^-^
The wrap detail of the black grille section with the red Honda badge is a brilliant touch. Will be interesting to see how the brakes hold up though, I think the lack of ventilation will still be an issue.
We have an EK endurance car. We run brake ducts for another reason... The axles need cooling. We were going through a few on higher speed courses until we blew air at the brake and CV. Just another issue with FWD and going fast.
I really enjoy the quality and care you put into your content...great work, love the videos and all the progress! a solid inspiration for us UA-cam newbies lol
hey, i noticed you only changed your front callipers and rotors. another trick to help with over heating issues is to install a brake balance adjuster and shift some of that balance to the back.and upgrading the rear callipers will work as well. this will also help with driving and getting faster.
So your telling me this is the little replica type r civic involved in an accident in some course with a miata. Seriously i love what y´all do i look up to you guys.
Man the civic is lookin good in that wrap. Also if you are still having brake cooling issues, have you looked into changing the wheels to a "turbofan" design that pulls air from inside out? Could help with cooling the brakes while also removing warm air from the engine bay
It is so.good to see those valvoline words in their correct orientation both left and right, saw a lot of wrapper just mirrored them when it comes to the same situation. It just spell wrong...
This car gives me a lot of motivation. I’m really wanting to get back to the track and this is the platform I’m looking at and it’s just cool to see a fwd Civic be faster than rwd sports cars
run brake ducting from your radiator channel, since its a low stressed engine you should be fine. You can also look for a solution to pull air out of the wheel well which will give smaller gains

ZX2 but I would have preferred to see a ZX3 foxus
I miss the Escort 😔

Would love to see a race between the Civic and your MX-5
Your GTR will feel so jealous with this comment.
Hey jimmy, you wont reply to this🤣
Jimmy pls, tell me you love the st170 escort zx2

Little detail I love is that you incorporated the H-emblem in the grill wrap. Kudos!
You have made such a amazing journey!! From taking it on a 5000 mile road trip to winning with it!!! Great job!
One of my favorite ones yet. That wrap is incredible
The wrap is absolutely amazing I can stare at it all day and not get tired of it.

By far the best looking civic I've seen to date and continues to inspire me to continue my amateur build!
Congrats on the success so far this year and landing some amazing sponsors! The car looks amazing and you should be very proud.
Wow, this is going to be an eye candy on the track for sure! I am always happy to see new G&G video!
Awesome is an understatement. You guys are by far my favorite UA-cam channel. Upload more and more please

Best car video quality on UA-cam hands down , and I watch ALOT of UA-cam . Can’t wait to meet you guys again !
The Wes Anderson style pan at 4:23 was nothing short of fabulous
I can't believe that 2 years ago this car was a buy for a cross country road trip and now it's a beautiful track car. So much love 💜

Had a lot of fun at Gridlife watching you track this beauty! Great job guys!! Hope to see you guys at another event soon.

Love it. The Castrol wrapped supras and celicas in old racing games are the main reason i use Castrol oil today...its the little things sometimes.
