I have all new respect for NOFX. They made a great cover album of some of the most neglected punk gems, such as Say We Suck by Sin 34 and Mental Breakdown by Social Unrest. This made my day!!
Melvin defintely has that classic hardcore voice (duh thats why he was lead on this ep) but Mike also has an awesome hardcore voice when he so chooses.
Don Furcio you're the man. I have this album but had totally forgotten about it... thanx for your nofx songs posts like the collections of 12 eps of the year and other rarities
wow finally !!! good fuckin job...i must listen to nofx again...i love them from 84 to 1992...but even all the rest is not bad at all ...fat Mike is a genius aniway
Hey homeboy don't ever compare NOFX to a metal band such as Metallica Megadeth those gay bands that lost all their money because they're still out c e l l like your mom
not into most NOFX stuff from the 90s, moreso mid-90s, especially their newer stuff BUT i enjoy their 1984-87 stuff aswell as their "animal liberation" 1988/"s&m airlines" 1989 albums, pretty much the "maxium rock n roll" comp/mystic records years but they lost me with the softee jokey 90s epitaph "skate punk" shit. too each his own but i respect them showing homage to their hardcore roots here. a sin34 cover is definitely a cover by a group of people who actually saw them live in their short existance in the early-mid 80s. a urban waste & batalion of saints cover, fuck yeah!!!
+Glowing Red Brain right...thanks for your answer ... i'm southern italian and it was hard to me to explain my thinking but you understand everything i wanted to say
If your an old punk the way they wrote nofx like that with the big X is hilarious. Its a straight edge X and if you ever partied with these guys you'd laugh too.
I know hardcore, but had no idea Nofx even did this. Where's Vinnie Stigma? At his Mom's still? Dave insurgent's ghost is now haunted slime under the amps.
@johnrimbaud5312 they stole the name from a boston punk band called Negative FX, plus, they said in their old website that "NOFX stand for nothing". The "no fucking straight edge" thing is just a myth
' fizicks Well this is just like old school hc sounds. Municipal Waste are old school thrash crossover but the the right affirmation would be "municipal waste sound like this but more metal" better, cause that's the natural progression. Bad brains and Minor threat were already playing like this right before the first thrash metal records appeared. Thrash metal exists half because of old school punk.
' fizicks This Nofx album is a cover ep. All are old hardcore punk songs from the early 80s. It was dirty an unprofessional yet passionate. It became a main influence in thrash metal. Pioneer thrash bands like Metallica or Slayer were fans of punk. And then came crossover, which is thrash with an extra hardcore punk again in it.
If you think this is a good record by NOFX you should listen to the original artists. To me NOFX were always a second-rate clown band and were never on the level of real Punk and Hardcore Punk bands (like the ones they covered here). They do sound good here, though. I wonder why they didn't cover MDC. Maybe they didn't like it when Dave called them out on their song "Timmy Yo".
As much as I enjoy NoFX's material, this is sadly one of my favorites of theirs. I say sadly because I knew it was covers (the Battalion of Saints, Agnostic Front and Necros covers gave it away for me). However, it did get me to explore the other bands that were covered here. I really like the older Hardcore stuff this band put out (despite Fat Mike disavowing it). This is a further staple in that style. I hold this in high regard like I do Aglio e Olio by Beastie Boys. So, you're giving good advice here.
@@xp7575 Everybody has heard of NoFx. Their only good stuff was their early material when (by their own admission) were copying RKL. A lot of commenters here (including you) don't know the songs here were covers. There is no record NoFx put out that was equal to Urban Waste, Rebel Truth, Necros, Sin 34, Social Unrest, etc. etc. There is your point of view, poser.
This is so generic, by-the-numbers I have no words. Listen the the urgency and inspired chaos of Rebel Truth's original version(just for one example) and tell me how this isn't utter garbage.
This is the ideal NOFX. You may not like it, but this is what peak performance looks like.
1 - Friend Or Foe (Agnostic Front cover)
2 - IQ32 (Necros cover)
3 - Police Brutality (Urban Waste cover)
4 - Mental Breakdown (Social Unrest cover)
5 - No More Lies (Battalion Of Saints cover)
6 - Race Riot (NOFX)
7 - Say We Suck (Sin 34 cover)
8 - Child Hosts The Parasite (Rebel Truth cover)
9 - Professional Punk (Stretch Marks cover)
isn't race riot a doa song?
@@gamewiki8592 yes, it's a DOA song too but not the same...
This thee best nofx ever,Eric should at least keep recording his own shit, fuck yeah!!
Thanks for listing the bands that were covered.
I bought this because i thought it was cool. Hated how there was no credit on the album
I always thought Eric Melvin should have had a hardcore band . His voice is awesome !!!!
Eh, probably not his own band, but definitely more songs. I love that he sings live when the songs are too high for Fat! Haha
hes the david grohl of nofx lol if fat mike dies we will see the rise of eric melvin
KILL ROCKSTARS!
@@solofox8546 Eric is a great musician but doesn't have the song writing chops of Grohl or Fat Mike.

lol, that’s a funny term you use to refer to hardcore punk songs , “neglected”
I just love this. I annoy so many people with it. I'm like "It's less than ten minutes long....."
NOFX should really do hardcore more often. Melvin’s got the perfect voice for it!
They should re form without Mike
Melvin defintely has that classic hardcore voice (duh thats why he was lead on this ep) but Mike also has an awesome hardcore voice when he so chooses.
Maximum rock n roll is the best hardcore voice he can offer ! thats so raw! i love it !
Mel needs to sing 50% of the time, all the time.
The amount of the tongue in the cheek of this album is insane.
God I love this band.
this album is godlike
Don Furcio you're the man. I have this album but had totally forgotten about it... thanx for your nofx songs posts like the collections of 12 eps of the year and other rarities
The Social Unrest cover is great. I got to see them a while ago and they still ripped. My first show was Social Unrest and RKL in 85!
Best NOFX album ever
wow finally !!! good fuckin job...i must listen to nofx again...i love them from 84 to 1992...but even all the rest is not bad at all ...fat Mike is a genius aniway
this is real hardcore.. faster than metal shit

Hardcore punk nofx.!!

Love all nofx albums especially from liberal to punk in drublic and I wouldn't mind an album like this or at least that sounds like ribbed
I don’t think they have it in them. Even these songs feel plastic wrapped.
These are all covers
My HC/PUNK Kids find vocals and power music... HC THE BEST. Ive see you 3× in concert..
So so so good at HardCore
this is why I like nofx since 86.
This is really fucking awesome!!!
This is good.
I love Smellys vocals in this
which song?
Which song????
Which Song????????????????
He's joking :')
WHICH SONG????????????????????????????????
this should be nofx...i love fat Mike voice from 84 to 1991...after 90's a little less but Melvin could sing now... always, maybe more Hc punk

such a good band. the necros and stretch marks covers are great too!

Just a maximum rock'n'roll with their actually sound cause it's great album
This is perfect
Holy fuck how have I never heard this
well done
10 minutes on a 10 incher. nice.
I wish Mike could've squeezed in some brass.
I know hardcore, but had no idea Nofx even did this. Where's Vinnie Stigma? At his Mom's still? Dave insurgent's ghost is now haunted slime under the amps.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Made me run out of breath
How can send me the playlist of these song with the real names?
love it
This album a fucking banger oof
RULE!
Are they straight edge?😁
I never heard this trying to be discharge thing
These are all cover songs of Hardcore Punk bands. (I think one is original.) The original bands are better.
From europe.
No f x should means no f* straight edge!

omg FAT>USA D:
Du caralho, só perde a essência do punk quer quer mesmo...
how dare you butcher urban waste like that. boooooooooo
Quality tunes but is just me or did they rip off Dead Kennedys but without the forward thinking and interlect
Fat Mike has admitted to ripping off RKL and Bad Religion, many times.
They covered a lot of bands here
Dead Kennedys is not one of them though
