You can definitely see where the roots of folklore start when you wander through a forest like this! They’re such magical, ethereal places! Thank you SO much for raising awareness of the existence of our Scottish rainforest!🙏🏻 As you said, there aren’t many folk actually aware of them here. They’re vital to the ecology and there needs to be much more intervention to protect them before they disappear forever. 😔 Take care! 😊🌻x
I agree and they really are magical! Old woodlands have such a peace to them I feel 😊 an incredible place! 🌿🍃 I’m glad you appreciated it ☺️ I do feel strongly about protecting fragile habitats. I hope I can raise some awareness, they definitely need help! It would be a tragedy if they disappeared 🙁 Thank you, you too 😊🤍
🌊🏞🏰🌲🍽🦌🌿🌧🌍💚 What a beautiful journey you're on! I loved the stunning landscapes and the oak rainforest you explored. It's heartbreaking to hear about the threats to this fragile ecosystem, but your video is a great reminder that we need to protect all rainforests, not just the Amazon. Thanks for sharing this with us! 💚
Thank you for your lovely comment and I’m glad to hear you enjoyed! 😊 the landscapes are so beautiful and varied in Scotland 🏴 yes it’s terrible these ecosystems are under threat isn’t it, I think they’re just not known about enough 😔🤍
Thank you for sharing your explorations of Scotland and highlighting some very important environmental issues. I only wish more people travelled with the same sensitivity and respect you and Brochan have for these dwindling and precious areas of nature.
Thank you 😊 I really hope more people will be inspired to travel more sensitively! We have so many incredible and magical places in the U.K. it’s a shame they’re not recognised more! 🌿🤍
So sad we have lost so much of our rain forest cover in the UK. Thank you for highlighting this issue with your beautiful filming. Your films are so sensitive and your attitude towards the wild landscape and its inhabitants so respectful. Thank you!
Yes it’s awful, so much more land could have been rainforest in the U.K. if we had/would care for it better! I just so hope it won’t disappear completely 😔 glad you enjoy my films 😊🤍
I love this video, so calm and atmospheric, just reminds me what the wilds of Scotland are really like. I also love the way you put really interesting bits of information such as life travelling and the serious conservation issues we face in this country, let alone worldwide, into your videos. The rainforest is stunning, beautifully filmed - just makes me want to go there, but it's heart breaking how small these magical places are. Thank you for sharing this.
Thank you 😊 the wilds of Scotland are so beautiful! I’m glad you enjoy my videos and find the information interesting. It is an incredible place and yes, so sad that it’s only in fragments now. Hopefully conservation efforts will slowly increase the rainforest 🌿🤍
I have family who live down the road from Ariundle and I love going there every time I visit. It really is a stunning place, especially in summer, or spring when the bluebells are in flower. I wish more people were aware of our temperate rainforests.
How lovely to see it in spring or summer! I imagine it would be so beautiful at that time of year 😊 I do too, so many people don’t even know temperate rainforests exist! Tropical rainforests is all we’re really taught anything about 🙁
That's heartbreaking regarding deer getting shot for property prices 😢 and oh wowwww, the forest is absolutely enchanting, reminds me of a fairy forest too but again absolutely heartbreaking about the complete decimation of world needed plants, mosses etc, makes me angry too!
Yeah I was so upset but also not that surprised when I found out about the deer 🙁 it’s madness! The forest is magical, it’s a wonderful feeling to stand under such ancient trees! I would love to visit again in the spring 😊🌿 I totally agree, it also makes me angry and the overwhelming feeling is exactly right! Feels like there’s not a lot you can do against money and power 😔
Lovely to see, if a little spooky. Thanks for highlighting it, Brook - I wasn't aware of it. Hopefully, it and a surrounding buffer zone, are protected zones. I'm completely in agreement with protecting these landscapes and, more widely, reversing the obscene damage done by overgrazing and forestry. Just finished reading Andrew Paintings, Regeneration - a science lead and well referenced walk through every area of the Mar Lodge turnaround, in the Cairngorms. Oh and I love Rhododendrons and the large houses they inhabited too - like you say, just not in sensitive areas. Given the horrific deaths deer suffer in nature, I'm in favour of shooting the ones that are suffering or will likely die over winter, as log as it's done by good marksmen. It's why I'm also against introducing apex predators like wolves and lynx, which is psychopathic imo. Without knowing any details I assume that shooting would be the lesser evil.
It’s amazing how much we can not know about the country we call home isn’t it. I had absolutely no idea about it until not long before we visited Scotland! That sounds like a really interesting book, might look it up 😊 I am the same with rhododendron and the old houses. I love them but there are the bad sides too… The deer issue is a very complicated one I guess. I’m not sure what I feel about it.. I think what I found most shocking is the fact that some estates were trying to keep them on the land and breeding, just for the purpose of shooting 🙁 I get the need to control the numbers but obviously some estates don’t care about it 😔

What a magical place, more magical than many other forests and woodlands thanks for the upload!
I agree, ancient woods are so incredible and like you say, magical 😊🌿

Really interesting about the rain forest. I had no idea they existed in the uk and how fragile they are 😐
