STEP 3:
Turn your fan on and heat all the way up for the following tests.
If your coolant looked gunky when you check the level, it could clog your heater core. Once the cars up to temp, we can test for a clogged heater core by feeling the 2 hoses connected to the firewall. Be careful, they will be hot!
They should feel about the same temperature. If one is significantly cooler than the other, its likely your heater core is clogged and causing the lack of heat.
A faulty heater control valve can cause the same effect, by this car doesn’t have one so I won’t go into that. Comment below if you want to know more.
STEP 4:
Finally, the issue could be behind the dash with the blend door or its actuator.
Turn the car off and the air low so you can listen closely. Turn the temperature from hot, to cold, and back to hot. If you can hear the slight wurr then your blend door actuator should be working.
Unfortunately in this case is likely means the blend door has broken off the actuator and is why the temperature won’t change when I turn the temp dial. And as this is buried deep in the dash, its not an easy fix.
