A little fun fact: remember that old man that Kratos dropped down the hydra's throat? Well during the Barbarian King fight, he summons spirits to attack Kratos three times, and on the third summon, the old man is among the spirits, and in a brief cutscene he says "No, not you again!" And runs away instead of fighting like the others.
1:11:28 Here we go, from here till the end of #3 it’s ALL gas no brakes. The third game is my personal favorite of the series 🔥🔥🔥 can’t wait to see what you guys think
(Warning: I am going to mention a couple things in Greek mythology you may not want to know). Just so you know, in Greek mythology there are three generations of Gods: The Primordial gods, the Titans, and the Olympian gods. Chaos (the first Primordial), Gia, Uranus, Oceanus, and Tartarus (and some others I think) are the Primordial Gods (most of which, besides Chaos, are Gia's Children). They decided to make Gia a Titan in the game, maybe they thought it would be easier to focus on two generations of Gods instead of three (and I think the Titans are gods they're just a specific type, "Titan Gods," but I am not sure). Gia had kids with Uranus (her son, that is gross, but that is Greek mythology for you), there was no one else besides themselves to hook up with. She had many children with him, the Titans being some (she also had kids with others; like Tartarus and even the God of Fire and Metal Works, "Hephestus," but that was an accident). Kronos and Rhea are both Titans and when Kronos took down his father Uranus (in a gross and horrible way) he became the king of everything, then he had six kids with Rhea: Hera, Demeter, Hestia, Poseidon, Hades, and Zeus. Like in the game Zeus survived, came back for his siblings (who were still alive in Kronos's stomach because they are immortal) and together with some of the Titans, and others they stopped Kronos, cut him into a bunch of pieces (I believe) and cast him into Tartarus. Atlas, one of the Titans, was forced to hold up the sky (in some myths "the Universe" or "All of existence" I think) which was done by four other Titans before (I don't know who), and Prometheus was also a Titan, but one of the ones on the side of the Gods. He gave fire to humans and was punished to have a bird eat out his liver every day, and because he was immortal it was an endless torment. But when the gods claimed everything Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades drew lots (or did something like that to decide which domain they got). Zeus got the Sky, Poseidon the Ocean and Seas, and Hades the Underworld. And the other gods and goddesses have their own domains as well. Just wanted to mention this because Greek mythology, while it can be gross and horrible, is still interesting and fun at times. Also, Heracles (Hercules) is actually a descendent of Perseus, he is his great-great grandson from one of his son's and his great grandson from another son (the explanation is gross) and his half-brother because they are both sons of Zeus (again, gross). But this was something I didn't know until a few years ago, and these are the things about Greek mythology you have to accept and/or ignore if you are interested in the mythology for the stories, gods, and monsters with in it. I probably didn't need to mention this, but I did (sorry).
Currently watching this right now. SO happy you guys not only are finally watching the original trilogy but you’re giving it to us this quick!! Awesome 🔥
Technically, Athena didn't promise to remove his nightmares or memories, only that the past would be forgiven. Kinda insane something on this scale was on the ps2. I hadn’t remembered all these sweeping camera angles and stuff. The 3rd one is one of the greatest feats in gaming but this one is pretty insane for its time.
I don't know why they switched, Game clips has too much censorship, i mean, they zoom in so much It's like they don't know how to blur or cover something with a black bar.
Rhea and Cronus had six children. Hades, Poseidon, Demeter, Hera, Hestia, and Zeus were their children. Gaia is the mother of Rhea and Cronus. Which makes Gaia the grandmother of Hades, Poseidon, Demeter, Hera, Hestia, and Zeus.
Neat you are looking into the old games and story. Many of us original fans want this Kratos to return, but I can understand why they didn't and glad it brought an entire new generation of fans into the series and story. I, along with so many old fans would love to see entire remasters of the original games (the 2 PSP ones as well) with updated graphics and options. That would bring in so much money it would be insane. As graphic as they would have to be, I'm not sure how folks newer to the games would get on board with that though.
Kratos’ story is actually loosely based on the story of Heracles (aka Hercules). Like Kratos, Heracles was a demigod bastard of Zeus, he was deceived by a god (in Heracles’ case it was Hera) into killing his wife and child, assigned tasks deemed impossible to complete by the gods, and was overwhelmingly powerful. Also while Zeus (perfectly played by Corey Burton who played Dooku and Cad Bane in Clone Wars) is clearly the bad guy, Kratos is just as heartless and ruthless. He started wars just to let his frustrations out! But he was right, Zeus and the other Olympians needed to go.
I hope you won't forget to watch 'GOW Chain of olympus' and 'GOW Ghost of Sparta' they serve a lot to the lore as well and should be watched before GOW ascention
On the first game's box, there is a famous quote that is normally attributed to the Greek (though the quote itself is from the 17th century): "Whom the gods would destroy, they first make mad." An older Greek variant would be "Evil appears as good in the minds of those whom god leads to destruction." Kratos is a victim of the gods driven to the breaking point whereupon he becomes an absolute calamity on two legs as a result of them toying with his life for their own amusement and personal ploys. While that does not make his actions any less evil or reprehensible, it's one of those things when one has to understand that he was literally never given a choice other than that of eternal suffering and striking back at his tormentors.
1:05:01 yes, he is motorboating but it's unnintentional, i think... It's that he needs to make them scream to stun Zeus and they are taller than him, so when trying to beak them in half he has to bear hug them, which means putting his face between those melons... I don't think he would mind that part, if you know what I mean...
I wanna remind that aside from the trilogy, there is also Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta games. These are as important as the trilogy as these tackles Kratos's life as a servant of the Gods and a brother respectively.
Maybe someone would've explained; but from our interpretation, basically the initial power drain into the Blade of Olympus, is one way, and permanent; so there's so "sucking it back out" and reabsorbing it (So Kratos' own power, gained during this second basically replaces the other powers he lost and drained into the Blade of Olympus; until then the events of the next game) Pragmatically, it's a way of explaining and getting rid of the powers gained in the first game, (except for the power of and within Pandora's Box; which later games specially and specifically, mainly, the third, will elaborate, and is one of the core part s and components of the game(s) and (whole) story (within the trilogy)
Interesting fact, the spear of destiny had nothing to do with Greek mythology but of Christianity. The spear was the same one that pierced the side of Christ during the crucifixion.
You guys should reacted to the God of war: Ghosts of sparta game Cutscenes it takes place in between the first and second game it shows why Kratos is so angry when the second game Begins. And it explains more about kratos.
Spartan General's Name is ATREUS Kratos named his son after Spartan General. General was appeared in GOW 1 , & in Ghost Of Sparta ' Atreus gave him Shield & Spear which Kratos give him back After his brother DIEMOS . Gen Atrues i think also in CHAINS OF OLYMPUS. Gow 2 General D E A T H came by hands of Kratos.
One things they didn't show is during the Barbarian fight he summons dead people to fight you and one of the ones that gets summoned was the ship captain from the first game that he kicked into the hydra's mouth and then stabbed in the back while in the underworld.
In the Temple of Pandora you can see a fresco with the prophecy that Kratos will fight Zeus and that Zeus did not do it, but chained his father Kronos to wander through the desert, ordered the architect Pathos Verdes 3 to build a temple hiding a box (he and his whole family died in this temple), sent Titans to Tartarus. As a result , his fate is predetermined , as predicted , including the Oracle
In Greek mythology, the prophecy is ALWAYS that the son defeats the father. Cronus defeated Ouranous. Zeus defeated Cronus. Ares was next in line to defeat Zeus and the ENTIRE original series is about Zeus using Kratos to break the cycle. The problem??? Breaking prophecy has catastrophic consequences.
For anyone wondering why the ending cutscene in GOW 1 was retconned. GOW wasn't meant to be a franchise it was a one off but it was a unexpected success.
Imagen the first time you play this, many people here played this game when we were kids, and the wait to play god of war 3 was eternal, Gow 2 is the best game of the Greek saga.
For chronology purposes and to justify a little bit the actions taken plane in god of war 3 they should also react to chains of olympus and ghost of sparta.
You could watch the psp spinoff game, Ghost Of Sparta, occurs between Gow 1 and 2 and tell us more about Kratos past and why he always felt contempt for the gods
This game was released in the last days of the PS2 and it pushed the console to the absolute limit to make the best game they possibly could with the limited hardware available.

The release order of the next games are, God of War: Chains of Olympus, God of War: Ghost of Sparta, God of War 3 and God of War Ascension.
What a legendary sequel, man. So many memories❤
Just so you know. If you want the full story. The timeline is : Ascension is the very first. Then chains of Olympus. Then 1 then ghost of Sparta and then 2 then 3
Great game. There are also some side games beside the basic trilogy you should review like God Of War Ascension and Chain Of Olympus. Another game with an epic story and great voice acting (The best voice acting for a game ever made) is Soul Reaver.
and ghost of sparta also there all important to why kratos hated the gods so much
Kratos in his pimp pose on the throne in the beginning
Kinda insane something on this scale was on the ps2. I hadn’t remembered all these sweeping camera angles and stuff. The 3rd one is one of the greatest feats in gaming but this one is pretty insane for its time.
Don’t use Game Clips for God Of War 3. They cut out too much story. Use Gamer’s Little Playground for God Of War 3
Corey Burton also played Zeus in Disney's Hercules.

*Icarus:* Wait! Perhaps The Sisters is send you to help me! I realised now!
*Kratos:* It's too late!
Michael Clark Duncan voiced Atlas. Fun fact they brought back a lot of actors and voice actors from the old Greek movies like Jason and the Argonauts.
This is what i like about video games. They're literally books that you get to be a part of.
6:51 this is why in God of War 2018 Kratos keeps watchin the dragon every second and even take a step back
I hope you won't forget to watch 'GOW Chain of olympus' and 'GOW Ghost of Sparta' they serve a lot to the lore as well and should be watched before GOW ascention
Yes. I was about to say say that. GOW's lote goes deeper with those games.😁
35:10, he got the Spear of Destiny by this point.
12:37 In the myths, Gaia is actually a primordial, a generation before the titans.
Fun fact Atlas was voiced Michael Clarke Duncan R.I.P
Thanx for quick upload of god of war 2
Loving these reactions! Thanks
I'm here straight from GOW 1 reaction video ❤❤❤
On the first game's box, there is a famous quote that is normally attributed to the Greek (though the quote itself is from the 17th century):
"Whom the gods would destroy, they first make mad." An older Greek variant would be "Evil appears as good in the minds of those whom god leads to destruction."
Kratos is a victim of the gods driven to the breaking point whereupon he becomes an absolute calamity on two legs as a result of them toying with his life for their own amusement and personal ploys. While that does not make his actions any less evil or reprehensible, it's one of those things when one has to understand that he was literally never given a choice other than that of eternal suffering and striking back at his tormentors.
Thanx for uploading it quickly 🤗 was waiting for this and 3rd one too ❤
You really should play these games. They are all great
GOW 2 is the game I played the most. When I was bored I used to speed run it during an afternoon
25:44 Oh! So Kingpin learned from Kratos! 👀
1:02:20 - this is the third Sister of Fate - Clotho. She is the one who weaves the threads of fate for people
You guys really should consider watching all the God of war games, they have a lot of backstory as well.
Some believe that, that spartan captain he killed unknowingly at the temple was atreus of Sparta he mentioned at the end of god of war 2018
What atlas is referring to is the story of the spin off game god of war chains of Olympus when he says “you show your face after what u have done?”
Perseus Is Actually Voiced By Harry Hamlin Who Played Perseus In The 1981 Film Clash Of The Titans.
Can't wait for God of War 3!
These is also two games, ghost of sparta, and chain of Olympus.
43:05 haha...*stomached* their betrayal...
I recommend you should watch ghost of Sparta and chain of Olympus video games as well
20:52 we just got bamboozled guys 😂😂😂
btw fun fact, gow2 was directed by Cory Barlog.
"...And you don't have hercules to safe you"
😏😏😏😏😏
I just watched part 7 and I found part 8 again... just watched it... and waited for Kratos' next story.
oh ya GOW III..👍👍👍💪💪💪
God of war 3 has the greatest 30-45 min opening of any video game all time.
I wanna remind that aside from the trilogy, there is also Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta games. These are as important as the trilogy as these tackles Kratos's life as a servant of the Gods and a brother respectively.
I've always wondered, from where did Indian soaps get the traditional dramatic music
Finally found it in GOW 2😂
It's been a day, next part plz
Just hear... still waiting for god of war3 reaction
You should try to react, before III, to GoW Chains of Olympus and GoW Ghost of Sparta, to have a better understanding and details of this story.
The past beef with kratos atlas talks about is shown in God of War Chains of Olympus which chronologically takes place before God of war 1
Maybe someone would've explained; but from our interpretation, basically the initial power drain into the Blade of Olympus, is one way, and permanent; so there's so "sucking it back out" and reabsorbing it
(So Kratos' own power, gained during this second basically replaces the other powers he lost and drained into the Blade of Olympus; until then the events of the next game)
Pragmatically, it's a way of explaining and getting rid of the powers gained in the first game, (except for the power of and within Pandora's Box; which later games specially and specifically, mainly, the third, will elaborate, and is one of the core part s and components of the game(s) and (whole) story (within the trilogy)
Spartan General's Name is ATREUS
Kratos named his son after Spartan General.
The cuts in this video are insane
Enjoyable video, thank you both. I hope you will react to God of War, Ascension, Chance of Olympus, and Ghost of Sparta soon.
Ayeeeee my favorite of the series let's go ladies!!
Ghost of Sparta plays a huge role as to why kratos is completely done with the gods
Fun fact: Corey Barlog directed both God of War 2 and God of War 2018.
1. Gow ghost of sparta about his brother
2. Gow chain of olympus about his daughter
3. Gow ascension about his wife
For anyone wondering why the ending cutscene in GOW 1 was retconned. GOW wasn't meant to be a franchise it was a one off but it was a unexpected success.
Kratos wasn’t motorboating the Sirens; he was bear-hugging them so that he could snap their spines and use their dying sounds to attack Zeus.
18:49
It wasn't the Gods that came from the Titans
It was the Titans who *CAME*
hence creating Gods
Imagen the first time you play this, many people here played this game when we were kids, and the wait to play god of war 3 was eternal, Gow 2 is the best game of the Greek saga.
For chronology purposes and to justify a little bit the actions taken plane in god of war 3 they should also react to chains of olympus and ghost of sparta.
You could watch the psp spinoff game, Ghost Of Sparta, occurs between Gow 1 and 2 and tell us more about Kratos past and why he always felt contempt for the gods
Gaia is zeus grandmother....thats what is being remembered.
Don't forget tye spin off games Chains Of Olympus, Ghost Of Sparta and Accension those are canon and important
This game was released in the last days of the PS2 and it pushed the console to the absolute limit to make the best game they possibly could with the limited hardware available.
God of war 3 is the best one among the series. The epic fights are just absolutely insane.
God of war 3 is just EPIC.
Cronoes had 6 children:
He's youngest was Zues. 🌩
Then Hera. 🦚
Then Posiden. 🐎
Then Demiter. 🌾
Then Hades. $
Then...I actually forget the name of he's eldest daughter, but I know she was a Sun diety. ☀
