Please don’t use gameclips for God of War 3. That channel cuts some cutscenes from the game. Gamer’s little playground is the channel you should use for God of War 3
Two cool points: 1. That statue in the beginning was the Colossus of Rhodes, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, it probably existed at some point, but it definitely wasn't as tall as the legends say. 2. As cool as stone statues are, Greeks and Romans actually loved bronze statues the most, all of their most famous statues were bronze. Sadly, most of them got melted throughout history to make weapons and stuff.
@@samfisher9661 yeah there is some debate about if it really existed due to the lack of evidence etc., but I believe it existed. What definitely isn't true though, is the idea that it stood with one leg on each side of the enterance to the harbour, so that the ships would enter between his legs. There's also a lot of debate about it's true hight. After it collapsed some pieces were supposedly preserved until the Islamic conquest of Rhodes, after which they were melted/sold
The actor for perceus in this game is the same guy from the old stop motion clash of the titans, i do wish him and the other classic heroes got more of a moment to shine , especially since they are all demigods
"The cycle ends here" by Zues hits so hard especially after God Of War 2018. Keep that quote in mind, its one of the reoccurring themes in the later games.
YES! Loving this full, uncut reaction vidoes to the original trilogy. Guess makes Dave's job a lot easier😂. Cant wait for 2018, my most awaited reaction on this channel.
God of War 2 and 3 are just Masterpieces! I know new ones are awesome but this games are just on another level and the fact they where in ps2 is even more insane. 90 of the games today don't even come close
Perseus from this game is in reference to the film, Clash of the Titans (the one from the 1980s). The voice actor in this game, is the same actor that played Perseus in that movie.
People call Kartos a rage monster but throught these games we can see how many times he just wanted to give up and die but is pushed by everyone to kill everyone else leaving only a monster behind that they mentally broke. These games show his descent into madness, betrayed by the gods and even the parents of the gods, all because he was a great warrior who could be molded into a machine of death, a pawn in everyone's revenge, it's a miracle he doesn't kill first and ask questions later in the next game even though many think he doesn't, he still resorts to violence as a last resort in 3
On Netflix there was a few small short ones I watched Black Blood, Conditions, Siege, Spoils of War, Hunted, Battle on the Beach, Twelve Days, Offering it is all under the this Troy: Fall of a City which has a bit to do with Greek Mythology another thing of game is just after the movie 300 is Assassin Creed Odyssey which some people say not as good The one with Ezio but I like all the Assassin Creed game because of the History to it.
God im dying here, i need dudes in my life like these guys. They uplifts my day everytime i see their posts!!! Started watching playthroughs and reactions when i had jury duty cause i was a little stressed about it, and now i got The Boys here to watch and i dont look back. Best reaction channel on youtube!!!
1:21:30 Yes, Clash of the Titans and the sequel Wrath of the Titans. Sam Worthington played the character of Perseus in both films, whom Kratos kills in this game - Perseus was the one who turned invisible after putting on his helmet. The portrayal of the gods in these films is pretty cool, I must say. Might be worth a reaction out of the crew! There is another Greek mythology film that came out around the same time too called Immortals, starring Henry Cavill. Henry plays the character Theseus, whom, again, Kratos kills in this game hahahaha. Theseus was the older warrior guy that Kratos slammed the door on his head multiple times. That Immortals film does have a portrayal of the Olympus gods and the Titans, but they're... lackluster. The action is pretty cool though; very 300 inspired, even though the film IS NOT directed by Zack Snyder. Maybe if you guys do a "Greek Mythology" series of reactions you can check it out, along with the aforementioned Clash/Wrath, and maybe even 300?
A little tidbit. Perseus and Percy Jackson aren't the same person. They are two completely different characters. If you ever want to know the Perseus story, that was the Clash of the Titans and Wrath of the Titans main male lead. Percy was named after him, though. I think.
God of War: Ascension is a prequel and, IMO, is not necessary to experience before going into GoW2018. Same with Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta. They are all great stories, but 2018 doesn't really gain or lose much wether or not you play those ones. I'd say after God of War 3 you're ready to move to 2018!
Honestly, Ghost of Sparta and Chains of Olympus should be considered because we get more of Kratos's humanity and his family. You'd really be missing out.
The story of Prometheus is "true" by the way. He was punished by Zeus for bringing the fire (knowledge) to humanity, by being chained to a snowy cliff and having ravens feast on his liver 😅
My fav game of the saga, this is literally a total upgrade from the first one, i dont think the 3 is better, but if defitely the most iconic and with the most iconic deaths, cant wait for you reaction guys 🚬🧐🧉
On my copy of God of war 2, the scaffolding just never appeared at all at 3:00. Got completely stuck and had to bring the game back to GameStop, was literally broken
Thank you for subtitles in your videos, guys. I'm from Brazil, and I'm studying English with your content in my free time. Thanks everybody, good video again and like!!!
43:11 you can actually see an energy envelope the titans before the wave hits them. Is that meant to be Kratos pulling then into the future? If so, that's amazing attention to detail
I absolutely love watching this. It makes me love GoW3 and 4 so much more. I played 1-3 games 14 years ago and last 4 years I played 4 and Ragnarok. I dont like some parts of Ragnarok but overall those 2 games are absolutely amazing. Simply so much better. Thank you for reminding me of that. You two are in for such a treat! Ugh its
Again, I love this format, please consider taking recommendations from viewers for other, unrelated game series that you could do cutscene reactions to, because there are other great “game cinematic movies” like Knights of the Old Republic, Halo 1, Halo 2 Remastered, and Halo 3, 4, and Reach, etc
27:58 A live action would be amazing, wouldn't it? There IS actually a live action God of War property in the works, but it will most likely follow the Norse saga of games. It's in very early development, so who knows - maybe they'll change it and start from the Greek games.
I'll be playing along with you guys on the pc for 2018, and come September, Ragnarok. Also, in the fight against the barbarian, the ship captain from the first game comes back as someone you have to fight
Yall definitely need to watch three and find the best version out there with all the cut scenes this one cut a lot. Im glad you’re playing 2018 as a lot of videos for that one cut out a lot of dialogue that happens in the game traveling around sequences
God of War 2018 has a "Give me Story" difficulty setting that makes it very easy to play - I know many people here will likely be against it, but if you are looking for a more cinematic experience with minimal challenges, then that setting will make it much more enjoyable (especially for people who aren't used to video games). The difficulty settings in God of War 2018 in general are very nice - there's a setting in there for just about everyone. One thing I will mention is make sure to check out some of the accessibility options in God of War 2018 - there are settings in there designed to make the game more accessible for people with injuries and disabilities, but some of them just take away annoying parts of the game, so I highly recommend it - for example, you can change all the button mashing sequences in the game to a button hold instead, so when it tells you to mash circle like mad, you'll instead need to simply hold circle button - trust me, your fingers and wrists will thank you. That kind of button mashing isn't good for anyone's hands, not just people with disabilities.
Just for my personal preferences, I would like to suggest yall to watch the two PSP games cutscenes (Chains of Olympus & Ghost of Sparta) To me they add that extra bit of world building and feels nice to know before the ending~ They shouldn't take long and could possibly have em both in one video.
1:24:20 I don’t know if you need to worry about Ascension, but if you get a chance to watch the PSP games Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta, those are fantastic and give some great insight into Kratos’ backstory.
Not sure if you caught my comment on your God of War 1 video, so reposting it here to stress it: Honestly, you should watch the cutscenes for the PSP games and prequel PS3 game as well, they add a lot to Kratos' character and have some moments in them that will return in God of War 2018/God of War Ragnarok The order would be as follows chronologically (since you watched God of War 1 now, I would recommend doing Ascension and then Chains of Olympus next) God of war: Ascension (PS3) God of War: Chains of Olympus (PSP) God of War (PS2) God of War: Ghost of Sparta (PSP) God of War 2 (PS2) God of War 3 (PS3) There are some really strong familial moments with Kratos in the PSP games that give a lot more context to how he became who he is.
I believe they are very much optional - honestly, God of War 2018 is made so well that people who knew ZERO backstory to Kratos still enjoyed it very much. It's a perspective thing - people who played God of War 2018 knowing Kratos' background played it from Kratos' view, while people who played it without his background played it from the view of other characters who didn't know about his past, and that game is so laden with story-telling that he covers all of the important parts of his past in there, so people who didn't know Kratos got to discover him THROUGH that game. It puts the story in a different light, and makes some of the parts of that game more impactful because things about his past are revealed with great timing in mind.
@@PeterDB90 obviously they are optional in that the modern games do a good job of explaining things story-wise, however, the scene in Chains of Olympus with his daughter for instance hits incredibly hard and considering Kratos' behavior towards Atreus in 2018, adds a lot of subtleness towards his character that makes you understand why he is the way he is towards his kin. Ghost of Sparta as well, has the moments with his brother and giving backstory on what happened between them The only one that isn't explicitly necessary would be Ascension I guess, but considering how balls to the walls awesome that game is I feel like it wouldn't be a detriment to watch the cutscenes at the very least, ya know? ^^;

Hey fellas so excited for ur GOW journey!! Better catch up on some mythology stories. ❤There's a ton & not sure if u think everyone just random ppl or recognizable stories ive read since a child, but im hoping yall know some of them. Cant wait!!!❤💞❤️
The other GoW games, aside from GoW 3 aren't really necessary to prepare you for GoW 2018. They're all great stories but if you just want to get into GoW 2018 then it's not necessary to watch those. I would recommend going back to Gamer's Little Playground for GoW 3 though. It's a longer video but it's WAY more detailed, and those details are important.
There's still lore for the universe & beings they should know and understand Kratos' reasons behind things he does more, they also can learn more locations to get a better picture of the Greek universe.
28:15 live action? maybe a remaster. things don't automatically look better irl, at best they'd augment it with CGI, which this already is, but from like 20 years ago
Heres the list in chronically order. Some have very short story to add. God of War: Ascension (PS3) God of War: Chains of Olympus (PSP, PS3 Remastered) God of War (PS2, PS3 Remastered) God of War: Ghost of Sparta (PSP, PS3 Remastered) God of War: Betrayal (Mobile side scroller) God of War II (PS2, PS3 Remastered) God of War III (PS3, PS4 Remastered) God of War 2018 (PS4) God of war ragnarok.
Are you guys also going to react to the other God of War games' cutscenes besides the 1, 2, and 3? I think you should react to God of War: Ghost of Sparta too, as it gives a cool lore to Kratos's markings.
After watching all God of War cutscenes (excluding God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarok), maybe you should watch all the game trailers especially God of War: Ascension.
There is channel that recaps all god of war games before you play 2013. If you watch that video after the god of war 3 cut scenes. Can’t wait for you guys to play 2018 god of war

That kind of button mashing isn't good for anyone's hands, not just people with disabilities.

Hey fellas so excited for ur GOW journey!! Better catch up on some mythology stories. ❤There's a ton & not sure if u think everyone just random ppl or recognizable stories ive read since a child, but im hoping yall know some of them. Cant wait!!!❤💞❤️
In this gow game kratos became one thing he's hate most A" Monster"
The other GoW games, aside from GoW 3 aren't really necessary to prepare you for GoW 2018.
They're all great stories but if you just want to get into GoW 2018 then it's not necessary to watch those.
I would recommend going back to Gamer's Little Playground for GoW 3 though.
It's a longer video but it's WAY more detailed, and those details are important.
There's still lore for the universe & beings they should know and understand Kratos' reasons behind things he does more, they also can learn more locations to get a better picture of the Greek universe.
The swamp thing was the kraken
Watching these cutscenes will be so worth it once you get to GOW 2018!
you are the best thank you for giving us so much cool content ❤
28:15 live action? maybe a remaster. things don't automatically look better irl, at best they'd augment it with CGI, which this already is, but from like 20 years ago
Perseus isn't a reference to Percy Jackson.. Perseus is another son of Zeus, the hero of the Clash of the Titans movies
Heres the list in chronically order. Some have very short story to add.
God of War: Ascension (PS3)
God of War: Chains of Olympus (PSP, PS3 Remastered)
God of War (PS2, PS3 Remastered)
God of War: Ghost of Sparta (PSP, PS3 Remastered)
God of War: Betrayal (Mobile side scroller)
God of War II (PS2, PS3 Remastered)
God of War III (PS3, PS4 Remastered)
God of War 2018 (PS4)
God of war ragnarok.
Are you guys also going to react to the other God of War games' cutscenes besides the 1, 2, and 3? I think you should react to God of War: Ghost of Sparta too, as it gives a cool lore to Kratos's markings.
3 is a masterpiece don’t skip it
I hope you guys will react to Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta. They're also part of Kratos' Character Development as well.
LETS GO I WAITED SO MUCH FOR THIS! NOW I WAIT FOR THE WALKING DEAD ONE
God of War 3 soon?
After watching all God of War cutscenes (excluding God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarok), maybe you should watch all the game trailers especially God of War: Ascension.
There is channel that recaps all god of war games before you play 2013. If you watch that video after the god of war 3 cut scenes. Can’t wait for you guys to play 2018 god of war
