If your feelings get hurt about native people doing what they have for many years this video is not for you! If you want the right to do something in this world then go fight for it! The same way our people done! Don’t come at me with the BS line “I’m native too cause I was born here” that’s not how this works… if you appreciate what we do thank you! If not I do not care and will continue to exercise my rights as a native! It was the greed of this word and new comers that took the salmon almost to extinction and it was the natives who fought to keep them alive!!! Just remember that before you start bumping ur lips… do some research before you drop a negative comment!

Just found your channel and subscribed. Good stuff man. We are near Stevens pass on the west side but looking to get out of here soon. Colville or surrounding areas would be nice.

Beautiful river you have there brother. Your absolutely right about our rights. You can have the right to fish but if you don’t actually go fish and use your land we might as well not have those rights. Proud to see you out there.
The water has been to high for us, we had our nets out last week but nothing but drift wood. We’ll see how the water level is by the end of this week. Y’all take care

Yeah it dropped about 4-6 feet on us in a couple hours and all we caught then was seaweed and leaves 😂! Still learning how to do it but you will see it every year from here on out… I was just getting hate on my last snagging video so I added in some reasons why we do what we do in this video…

@@mountainlifewithdavidkelsieoh yeah all we can do is make others aware of our culture and if they have a problem with that that don’t need to watch our content. But that’s easier said than done it’s crappy when they try to push their beliefs on us

Very cool! I grew up on the Sekiu river over on the coast and the Makah tribe would be netting the river. I'd always sit on the bank and watch them probably I was 9 years old and they always gave me a salmon to take home to my family. Good times for sure!!
