The idea in that regard is that more people can participate on a moderate budget. Let's say a box of Bowman Chrome costs $300. You get what you get if you buy the box and that is that. But $300 may be more than what someone can afford. In a break you can buy a team for say $30. Thirty teams sell for $900. Breaker makes money obviously and for $30 you might get lucky and get a good card from the team you own in the break. It's gambling. Even the legit breakers have already lost their moral compass and its getting worse.
Looks at numbers. The scammers will be way off odds. They will find the big hitters way to often. If you hit a 1:100 boxes card and you keep pulling them every 10 boxes something is off. Statistics never lie.
This is true only if the sample size is large enough. I opened roughly 200 packs of specific Pokémon set recently. The top rarity cards in the set fall about one in 200 packs and there are 4 different ones making each specific one fell about once every 800 packs. Anyways I pulled 4 of these cards in less than 100 packs but then haven't yet pulled any in the next 100. Even so the four I got out of 200 packs was 3 more than I should have gotten. Was something up. No nothing was up I just had an unbelievable run of luck in the Silver Tempest set. The numbers are skewed because the sample size wasn't large enough to allow ratio to correct itself. But if you took the numbers from all sets and combined them into one a funny thing happens. I've opened almost 3000 packs since alts were first introduced to Pokémon. They fall about 1:200. It took almost 2000 packs to get my first one. But then with the monkey off my back had 7 more fall into my lap out of the next 1000 packs. I should have 15 by now and only have 8 so even 3000 packs isn't large enough sample size to correct itself after coming within less than 50 packs of 2000 before getting my first one. I'm sure if Pokémon were to back a truck up to my front door and dropped off 100 000 packs and I opened them all up that my pull rate would come in somewhere very close to the 1:200 ratio that the cards are inserted at than the roughly 1:400 ratio I'm currently at.
As someone new to this card collecting hobby…I’m still not sure what breaking is. Can someone explain it to me like I’m an 8 year old simply wanting to collect and trade cards?
An example of Breaking is pretty much when people pay for certain teams they want cards for, and a breaker will open up boxes that are in a "break" and each team a player belongs in is where who ever bought that team will go too and they will ship it out.
Big problem it Whatnot itself. The platform is set up for scamming. Not being able to playback anything makes it a lot easier for someone to steal. A little slight of hand and it’s a wrap. I buy into breaks. I have since 2014. I won’t do what not. UA-cam only.

Hey guys, just getting back into sports cards, regarding 2021 Panini Prizm football, I noticed that TLaws silver variation is selling for a lot lower than his base silver, in both PSA 9 and 10. Can anyone tell me if variations are rare in that year's set? You would think variation = rare, but prices suggest the opposite. Is this a blimp or a new trend in the new market? Keep in mind, when panini 1st came out with variations I remember them selling for decently more than the base

Well said from all you guys!
Great content Geoff. You’ve persevered.
I’m confused ….. people pay money to let someone else open a pack of cards for them ??
What’s the fun of that? What are the benefits
@@ninerrgangg6239 thank you for explaining this.
What was the name of the braking company I want to watch the video?
Breakers are sad people that have no other skills. If fanatics wants more of them, the hobby will die.
Big problem it Whatnot itself. The platform is set up for scamming. Not being able to playback anything makes it a lot easier for someone to steal. A little slight of hand and it’s a wrap. I buy into breaks. I have since 2014. I won’t do what not. UA-cam only.
There's sooo many products now, and they are starting to go crazy with the million different products and I just got back into card collecting. I'm going to sell the bigger cards I pulled and sit back and watch see what happens
Please explain breaking for the novice in collecting baseball cards just for fun and not profit nessarily?.
Breakers are of no concern, and have never been a part of the hobby community
Geoff be snitching every chance he gets
But still I am not the one he ever thought about snitching on!
Oh is it when you buy packs they open for you
Speaking of scams. Can you please do a video on the scam of Jersey Fusion. Taking a regular card, placing in a case, adding basketball shorts and saying it's a patch. Please address and worn everyone.
"they go up so much, then they go down..."
SURPRISE!!! Guys...please dont act as if You didnt know!!!
Fantastic stuff fellas❤😂🎉
They are the Sports Card Investors on this siiiiiide!
Maybe you should stop promoting whatnot and actually take a stance for the better of the hobby….that place is a cesspool of bad for the hobby!!!
Agreed whatnot sellers are slimey people
Comparing Uber to people that open little pieces of cardboard? I don’t think sports cards are anywhere near that level. Funny for months whatnot has been a criminal paradise and you continue to promote them. I like you finally speaking out against them in some way.
You you sure it was in Asia and not by Backyard Breaks?
Breaking is the future … literal gambling so we will see how it ends up
