People are complaining about cross-overs but it’s resending in to the same company over and over again that is a much bigger problem. I know a guy that sent a card to PSA 11 times before he got the grade he wanted. That is messing up pop reports waaaaaaay more than crossovers
Been watching SCI for a long time now. A big fan of Geoff and the whole team. Love what you all do for the hobby we all love!
Geoff I agree with you that the card market has great potential for years to come even for rare marvel and pokemon cards. I can only imagine the premiums for 1/1 refractor cards.
Pika 2 the 🌑
Great video Geoff! I am a BIG fan of the $1 bins at card shops. Usually I am the only one searching these and can find some good, older cards ($3 Cooper Kupp RR Optic holo last month). As for crossover grading, I am a bit more economically cautious. With S&H, if I avg. $33/card for SGC, then submit to PSA at $53/card, I now have $88 tied up in 1 card and would want a $200 difference in 10 grades to turn a decent profit.
Geoff, my daughter received her card in the mail from you this week and I just wanted to let you know how much we appreciate it and everything you do for the hobby! Thank you
Cracking slabs does not work with PSA - PSA population controls and their GEM rates are down from 35-45% to Only 8-14%. PSA is VERY inconsistent with their grading.
Yes, on vintage graded you will see same card vary a great deal due to centering(not OC). Same grade - one is centered, the other lower sold price one centering worse
You’d be surprised how many quick profits are hiding in lots and dollar bins! Great, well rounded collection of strategies, Geoff. This is a must see video for newcomers on the investment side of the hobby.
This is cool! Luv the vids!!
I like MarketMovers but I am not sold on the ebay deals search. Sometimes the last sale of a card is an outlier thus making the market movers insight on a particular card look like a great deal, but it might not be. It would be nice to customize this to search on a median sale or average sale over a period of time, and not just most recent sale.
Keep up the work man!!!
Would you buy a Jordan 86/87, break case and send to PSA? Or only trust PSA when buying early Jordan’s?
Geoff I am just now getting back into collecting, I started looking at my cards in my binders and ran across Lebron James’s rookie Topps Chrome, I looked on eBay and I am seeing all number of sell prices, it is in great condition, should I get it graded first before I sell it? What would you do?
Great video and advice Geoff 👍
I actually got a Jordan Poole Panini RC out of a dollar box in Rhode Island lol. The $1 and Under $5 bins are my go to strategy when trying to find nice cards on the cheap
So I have a question, if SGC typically grades tougher why don't they sell more than those graded via PSA? Wouldn't it make sense that if the grading criteria were tougher that the card would be more valuable? Thanks!
I love how it was mentioned that PWCC "split off" from Ebay rather than the more accurate statement that they got kicked off of Ebay for shill bidding. And that's not to mention their repeated fraud with knowingly selling trimmed cards.
Jeff is a shill for this industry. He doesnt want truth. He calls truth NEgative. But he is the negaitve one because he hides truth and that is very negative.
actually ebay kicked them off after they found out pwcc was leaving
@@messagekevin7066 They have proof of continuous shilling. Believe what you want.
PWCC didn't announce they were leaving before ebay banned them, and said at the time they were exploring legal options. That shiws they were not intending to leave.
@@luke1jones Ebay didn't care about PWCC's "continuous shilling" when it was making them boatloads in auction fees. If they were really concerned with it, they'd have kicked their primary competitor (that one that's always 'actively accepting consignments') off the platform too, because their auction results on high end cards show they're still very much doing it.
@@scarpfish I'm not suggesting ebay is a saint here. Just pointing out that ebay and pwcc didn't "part ways". Whether the real reason ebay finally decided to take action was disingenuous or not doesn't matter. The fact that PWCC is shady as crap and was shilling still remains. I simply wanted to point that out since the video conveniently glossed over that fact.
I love ur shows need all the advice I can get
Just did all the following for more entries woot woot let's goooo
Do you think card grading companies look at serial numbers on eBay ? For example if they see a SGC 1/10 just sold and now that same 1/10 is being submitted to them? Think that factors in?
GREAT ADVICE AGAIN! I HAVE USED A LOT OF YOUR ADVICE WITH YOUR APPS AND HAD FUN ! WITH PROFIT ALSO KNOWING TO BE CAREFUL NOT ALL WORK OUT !!!! THANKS AGAIN KEEP THEM VIDS COMING #1 ADVICE (SPORTS INVESTORS)

Great giveaway! Thanks for the info and great video, as always, it is very appreciated!
Great information , I watch the hole video 👍
You also need to look at how in demand the card is not just how much the recent sales were for, with that Clemente card those 3 sales were all there were for the entire YTD and if the market is already flooded with them you'll need to be the cheapest in order to move it.
My biggest profit zone with sports cards is arbitrage from the Chinese sports card marketplaces and selling in US sports card marketplaces. The market value is often not the same from one country to another, and I'm doing pretty good the more I understand where the deals are in each space.
How do you source cards from China
Well I mean how do you go about doing it personally
sure but wouldnt your purchase at a lower price show up as the most recent comp? Therefor you wouldnt be able to sell it for more than what you purchased it for?
So is their a winner for each box or card?
Hi, for the card show at American dream ? Do I have to buy a ticket or anything or can I just walk right in?!?
I believe you can just walk right in
@@SportsCardInvestor ok keep me updated just in case!
Super fun video. Thank you

Other problem cracking your Anthony Edwards is having it sit at PSA for a year and it goes down while you don't even have it to sell
When studying ratios from Silver to base PSA 10’s, the card pop difference is usually a much bigger ratio. Does play into your decision making aswell?
Great video with good advice!
Another thing I would have grading card companies consider is to work together to clean up the pop reports of a card is crossed over. The market uses this information when making decisions.
Text 🔝🔝 on telegram to claim your prize you have been shortlisted as a winne
But how would they know which cards were crossed over except for #'d cards and relying on people to self report all of their crossing over? I wouldn't count on any kind of self reporting in the hobby personally.
It’s like buying a Brand name cereal compared to the Generic. People want the PSA OR Beckett Slab compared to the SGC etc…..it’s that simple!
why not use psa crossover service?? why go thru the trouble (and danger) of cracking a card.. when the psa crossover service will do it for you?
Good stuff Geoff. Tho very exhausting for a collector vs a seller/dealer. On #5. Beware of the pump and dumpers when looking for supposed trends on youtube/IG e.g.?
just started investing, just entered the giveaway so excited love the videos.
This video helped me a lot! Thank you! Also can I send you SGC cards for you to break it and send it to PSA?
If I send the sgc 10 card in its case psa won’t crack it open and put it in a 10 psa case?
They will. It’s called a crossover. However, they ask you what’s the lowest grade you’d take. If you send in let’s say a sgc 9.5 and the least grade you say you’ll take is a 10. Then PSA will evaluate it to see if it meets a 10. If it does meet a 10 then they will slab it in a PSA slab and send back to you. If it doesn’t. Then they will send the card back in its original slab, BUT they will still charge you the grading fee.
Here's a tip. Look for auctions ending at a crummy time during the weekday. Then turn around, and auction that same card during a prime selling time during the weekend.
Will you ever let power users the ability to write their own queries of the data? For example if I’m looking for certain cards maybe I want top players with X characteristics or perhaps get a rank of players by a set
Maybe he can hire you as a programmer. Pay you in cards ;)
Love your vids
Unfortunately it's a lot easier to make money when you have money. The cards that you are buying are out of range of most buyers. Just not realistic for most people.
I think it's his way of creating motivation within all his viewers for a bigger and better life tho.
It takes time to build and get there. You’ve seen the $1 trade up challenges? It’s easy to wheel and deal. It’s all about having liquid cards, If you have players people want they move pretty easy. Good luck, stay optimistic, go to shows with $100 and see how many cool cards you can get and flip those ones turns into $150 dollars and you just keep buying and adding.
@@drujams1567 it's like slanging weed. No different
I'm thinking of investing in 2 cases of the 2024 bowman hobby. Would the chance of a big hit worth cracking them both open? Any thoughts? Opinions? Experiences? I've never cracked open a case of anything so it's a shot in the dark for me
Thanks for sharing
great Info!
I Geoff just so you know I’ll be going to the Nashville card show in July I hope your there if so can’t wait to see you.Ps let’s go sports cards these videos help me so much by investing in cards.
The “Crossover to PSA” section of the video is so based.
thanks
Great tips

WHÒOOOOhhh! I absolutely dig...this...content..It's like T.W.I.B For ball cards.
What about cards graded by Beckett are they junk
Fee bay can stick it! I have 100% feedback on 300 transactions and they arbitrarily put a hold on payouts if you don't sell enough in a calendar year. Oh yeah, it just happened to be the most expensive sale.
That Clemente didn’t sell, the recent sale is also in the eBay BIN in your first screen ($199.96).

I've had multiple GEM MINTS out of dollar boxes. What more can you ask for
Yep I agreeeee
Why crack the card vs crossover???
@Ozsportscard 2 why??? Why is that helpful or strategic? Why not just do crossover grading?
You might as well drop the other 3 grading companies you do group subs with and promote PSA all the way. Basically this video told any grading company that doesn't have a PSA label that you're grading is great but at the end of the day GFY because PSA is the above all end all bro.

Hey Jeff i love your show
Do you think that Tua is going to be a good investment answer in your next video please
it's very dangerous cracking those cases. I was lucky enough to mess up a very nice Ja'marr Chase trying to do that.
Really? What case? SGC cases crack in less than 10 seconds, its the BGS & HGA ones that take some serious strength.
This is a great video!
Text 🔝🔝 on telegram to claim your prize you have been shortlisted as a winne
The reasons given for resubmitting to PSA seem to support waiting for the SGC slabs to catch up. SGC slabs look better and are at least equally scrutinized. The Pristine is especially tough to get. If content from reputable sources, like yours, continue to highlight how the sale price difference between the companies doesn’t make much sense; the entire Hobby will benefit.
Text 🔝🔝 on telegram to claim your prize you have been shortlisted as a winne
It's already started, I'm seeing sgc equaling bgs pricing and catching psa more and more each week
Greay info nice video
You’re leaving out a major item about vintage cards. That PSA 3 Clemente you mention could have poor eye appeal, so the $199 comp won’t apply. Vintage is not a one size fits all, each grade will have a wider sale range because of eye appeal. In the lower grade slabbed realm you routinely see a higher technical grade sell for less than a technical grade 1 below that because of eye appeal
I once saw a PSA 4 T206 Ty Cobb sell for more than a PSA 6 (2 full grades lower) Usually a five sells for double what a four does and then a six is double what a 5 is. I mean it was many many many thousands of dollars more than it should’ve been just based on the grade
Hiya Mark - I was gonna make the same point. Geoff may consider sticking to the shiny stuff and lay off vintage - his points may indicate his lack of knowledge?
A 3 don't have poor eye appeal ever!
I’ve got a Willie Mays graded 1, and it’s beautiful.
Amazing giveaway! Good luck to everyone on Wednesday
Did he announce the winners yet because it says 64 winnners
Awesome content
Great video Jeff your content is the best most profesional of any card guru youd be ranked #1 and win a oscar by youtube or something LOL. You continue to level up levels above other creators. We appreciate the main stream of card industry I think your channel does bring people into the hobby who would just walked past the card window with out looking. I been into cards from 2019-2020 2020-21. I think panini is just flooding the market , and delaying product releases to increase there longevity into when they lose Profesional licensing. Panini is crashing the market with over printing and this will be the transition after panini is out from a falling market to sustainability with fanantics . I got some topps chrome overtime and in set you can see they copied some of paninis inserts. SO fanatics can pick out the paralels say like colorblasts and easily make there own versions that are similar. I rip and sell raw, and im brand new to hobby just me and some cards on ebay.
When you hear the explain of the grading system one would think SGC should be the number one company.
I bought a BGS 8.5 card Messi and crossed it over to PSA. Its now a PSA 7.

I got a cracked ice of Jerry Juedy for $80. Sent it to PSA got a 9 and now its worth $700
Was it serial number
@@angellamyers9758 ya the cracked ice is out of /25. But he is not as good as expected so it's only worth $350 right now.
Market Movers app looks like it's the real deal, if you have "popular" cards. I gave up after trying to load about 100 cards, I could have loaded everything manually but if it's not tracked at all, why bother? Guess I'll try again if I ever get better cards...
Check your 10 cent bins too people! I found a 1999 Pacific Backyard Football #NNO Pablo Sanchez in there!
When it comes to the PSA crossovers I think the real question is whether PSA cards are overpriced or are cards from other reputable grading companies under priced? Using your Ant Man example, what is a "Gem Mint" example of that card really worth? Because a "Gem Mint" card is "Gem Mint" regardless of who graded it (or if it is even graded at all)
Interesting point you make
Yes, answer is yes PSA cards are over priced. If you want to pay hundreds more per card feel free.
Good question but it’s irrelevant if you are flipping cards. It doesn’t matter WHY cards in PSA slabs are selling for much higher prices than the other grading companies. All that matters is PSA prices are higher.
SGC is incredibly underpriced and I'm buying them like hotcakes 🥞 right now
@@joshalbert1260 And this is why the PSA hype train is strong. Flippers have a vested interest in keeping PSA card prices inflated. If the market were to ever smarten up and stop overpaying for PSA then all the flippers would lose a ton of money.
Seems like a PSA promotion. If PSA is giving away 10s it is watering down cards.
Exactly. He basically told those other grading companies SCI offers group subs with to GFY because of their apparently worthless ROI and proclaimed PSA king of kings in grading.
At the end of the day… once the hype is lowered in the hobby. It’s the card in the slab that matters, because there will be SO Many slabs, especially PSA. As long as it’s a reputable grading company. Psa/Bgs/SGC/CSG/ their values will get closer.
i just go to city hall im not comfortable sending my cards off somewhere
Thank you! Jesus bless!
Sports Card Radio is watching.
Regardless of the being in there collage uniform these players are going to be something nice so go out and by your team's and other teams NFL draft rookie cards
Text 🔝🔝 on telegram to claim your prize you have been shortlisted as a winne
I have a feeling that eventually the grading companies will stamp their logo on people's cards after grading so if you crack the case you can't cross grade cards with other companies. It's choice we'll have to decide to have our cards graded..
I think that's a great contest lol I entered 🤷♂️ can't won of you don't play
wait a minute, if SGC have tougher grading standards, and their gem rate is lower why are their slabs worth so much less when compared to 10 from somewhere else?
Long term the smart hold would be SGC. But people love psa since it currently brings the most money
Because people are brainwashed. You should buy the card and not the holder. SGC has more consistent grading and better customer service.
He basically told the other two grading companies he offers group subs with to GFY without actually saying it.
Same reason Nike sells more than Reebok branding does Nike make a better shoe no but people still prefer them
I just sent 50 cards to ISA/IAS? Love their slabs
Have to spend money to make money!
Did iy
i have that anthony Edwards
Just bought a Kylian Mbappe card for $730 as an SGC 10 and the most recent PSA 10 sales have been between $1,400 and $1,800. Add a bit of price runup (hopefully) before the World Cup this fall and if the crossover goes well (SGC to PSA) it could turn into ~$1,000 in profit for a few minutes of actual work. Definitely opportunities out there, and Geoff nailed it - just have to do the work, be willing to take the risk and understand the downside but there are certainly ways to make money from the hobby we all love!
Or you set people up for failure when then don’t know what they are doing and pay a pretty penny for an SGC 10 and try to crossover and get a psa 9 and lose money
I cracked 4 sgc 10’s and submitted to psa and got 9’s.. beware of sgc grading of 10’s
sky rocketing kaboom
That SGC to PSA arbitrage has been great for me.
look for SGC aunction they go so low it's insane. sgc isn't even viable to use right now at 30 a card plus shipping and I like sgc but it's just not worth sending to them until they lower their prices back to where they should be
Add CGS & HGA in there, too. Easy $$$ if you know what you're doing!
@@GemRippers absolutely
Ohhhh ok.
Sgc grades harder than psa by far imho I have a psa 10 with 80/20 centering on the back 60/40 on the front that be a sgc 8
If you are cracking sgc 10s , and sending them to psa even at 50 a card, that strategy may start backfiring soon. Sgc 10s value wise are catching up to psa 10s. And there are several examples where the sgc 10 has outsold a psa 10 and thec time frame you're waiting may also be detrimental.
I love how getting a card graded costs exponentially more than what it costs to manufacture.
Lol It’s literally a piece of cardboard and cost nothing to make where grading is plastic so it’s more expensive plus you have to pay for the service so yeah grading is gonna be more than the cost to make a piece of cardboard lol
@@thatt206guy3 im aware of this and its absurd
@@duewhit310 No it’s not absurd it probably cost them penny to make a card do you think a grading company is going to charge you less than a penny to grade a card come on
@@thatt206guy3 imagine somebody famous wants a bbcard to wear on his gold chain. Card made with platinum or gold with jewels. Made to look like a real card that sells for 5, 6, 7 figures. Eventually he pawns it and the store is charging LESS for that than a piece of cardboard in gem10.
@@thatt206guy3 my vantage point is that theres all this pretentious excitement over cardboard
Can I host a small racing portion of the show for us Nascar and F1 fans. Two crucial sports for the hobby to grow!
Sgc is Much MUCH TOUGHER than PSA to get a 10..PSA gives way to many 10s that don't deserve it. You can look at lots of them and see centering issues in 10 PSA slabs
