Timestamps are in the description! If you’re thinking about moving to La Paz, the *updated cost of living & info about the current housing market is a MUST-WATCH* (starts at 08:15).
I was born and live here in La Paz l am very proud of my hometown because it is so beautiful the beaches get check of contamination every week l read the report they are all very clean. If you are planing to move here you will never regret.
Thank you for the warm invitation. That’s what my gringo wife and myself appreciate about Mexican people. If we were to relocate to La Paz we would make sure to blend in, learn the language and support local businesses as much as possible and return the kindness. #Gentrification? Hopefully not. That’s what we are escaping in America. Sshhh - we’ll never tell 🎉
I've had a HORRIBLE presale experience... I would be happy to explain it in detail if anyone is curious. We bought in the PV area, used a an attorney, and bought through Coldwell Bankers Lacoste. It's beyond description how crooked (possibly unintentionally) these people can be. What we love about Mexicco is the freedom and lack of authoritarianism, but this cuts BOTH ways. With no rules being constantly enforced, the only thing that matters is the integrity (word) of the people you do business with. The big companies do not know the people they are selling for. Most Mexicans do business with other Mexicans based on trust and relationship... But if a Mexican wrecks their reputation with people in their community, then the first thing they will do is to turn to big name real estate agencies who don't know much about them. So in essence you greatly increase your chances of being robbed by using Coldwell or Century 21. Get on the ground. Meet people. Become friends.
@@mdrichards yes, but many think they ARE doing their due diligence, but when the "professional " misleads, it is a travesty. We were told that our developer had built many projects in PV. Our agent even pointed out the actual buildings they had built. Turned out they had NEVER developed a single property... To make a long story short, we ended up in a prosecutor's office in the jungle paying Mexican prosecutors, Mexican translators, and Mexican attorneys in order to get our deed.... the crooked developers had the actually committed a crime that could have resulted in prison. They took our money and then placed a loan against our unit..! My advice, you either know the people personally, or NEVER buy pre-construction in Mexico. It is not a question of doing your research, because the people claiming to be advising you can lie.
Oh, it looks so beautiful there and that beach is just gorgeous! Great interview and excellent information for those wanting to move there. I'm stunned that the prices have at least doubled in such a short time.
❤ Wife and i Love your videos. you are the reason why we moved to mexico 3 years ago . We in Agua Caliente. right in the Center of mexico so we can see mexico. we have been to 28 mexican States. my wife loves La Paz / todo Santos we're moving there in the next 3 weeks. thank you again for all of your videos keep doing what you're doing a wonderful Job thank you.
Would like to visit La Paz once to see it and maybe scuba dive in the Sea of Cortez, but not at all interested in living with a bunch of Expats and paying those prices......But Alex thanks very much for the Video. I think it showed a realistic example of what to expect. Give me Guadalajara anyday!!!! lol
Thanks Alex for another great video, We love La Paz. Snorkeling and swimming with the sea lions (Lobos) is a must do activity. You definitely need to rent a car to get the most out of Baja California Sur. We rent our vehicles from Cactus I've never rented from Avis. Is Avis a better value than Cactus?
I’ve heard good things about Cactus. It’s family-owned, correct? Avis was fine, but the check-in process took forever even though we had a reservation.
Hi Alex I’ve been watching your channel for awhile and like your videos. One question? Why don’t other UA-cam channels that makes videos not show people in water having fun there ?
La Paz sounds like it’s now too expensive for someone on a limited budget of only $2,100 a month. Here in southeast Asia, I’m renting a new 2nd story 1-bedroom apartment with a good sized balcony overlooking a jungle and coconut palms near town for just $200 a month. Electric is $50 a month. Free water and Internet are included.
La Paz is great. Soooo much better than Cabo San Lucas because it has character. Be sure to check out their Carnival-bajillions of people and barely any gringos (I'm very much a gringo, btw).
90 % of municipalities in Mexico are behind the curve in public services!! Need to renew or die! Need to plan ahead Water is getting to be a major issue! Has nothing to do with liking La Paz or being native, nature, geography, lattitude cultural, WX friendly!! It has to do like everywhere else on the planet with growth! Will growth in the near, not so distant future cause Poor, deficient municipal services, like water, sewage, transit security, etc? Will La Paz real estate boom cause water shortages? La Paz vehicular traffic is increasing.... In Fidepaz and elsewhere water is deelivered every third day today, we have to pay for garbage recolection to a private company! La Paz in 2024 lacks first rate public transport system ! Renew or die!
La Paz should be a similar climate to San Diego/Ensenada region, perhaps a little hotter during the summer months = but way better than the heat/humidity present in the jungle region like Merida and Playa del Carmen! I hate lines, if you do dislike lines/traffic too = do not move to Tulum! Overall, Mexico is getting more expensive - the Mexican Peso is UP a TON since COVID plus the Mexican Federal Funds rate is high, higher than the US in fact!!! The sad fact is that, overall, Mexico is getting more expensive for Americans on a fixed income like social security to be able to relocate .... spoke to realtor in Playa del Carman and retirees were looking for homes for like $100,000. - $150,000. and that price is unrealistic, because, on the cheaper end, you are looking at pre-sales in safe gated communities with rules going for $200,000 +.

I lived there for 6 months. After September, it’s beautiful beyond imagination
I visited for the first time in November & the weather was incredible! I can only imagine what it’s like in January/February 😍
Were bugs a problem in your rental?

No lo promociones, menos a los gringos, 😅😅😅😅 ni siquiera te contestó el mensaje….#gentrificación

Ahhhhh, it's so beautiful there!
Presales are definitely one of the best options for buying property.
It was really informative & interesting to hear Claudia talk about the presale process/potential savings!

@@JosephHurtsellers you're right, being an informed buyer is always very important.

Amazing! I am so excited for you two 🥰 wishing you all the best in Baja Sur!

There are direct flights to GDL from La Paz so it’s easy to visit 🤓
I visited for a day last September, while visiting Cabo and it was beautiful! I look forward to my next trip to Baja Sur.
What a beautiful area❤
The beaches are unreal 😍
Que chido amiga 👍

Thanks, interesting 🧐 and that FLUFFY quiche looked 😊
The beaches in La Paz are some of the best in the world! Playa Balandra is the most famous, but there are soooo many incredible spots!
Go Alex & Taylor!
Thanks for watching, Wilfredo!
Great, Alex, thanks ! Been to Aguascalientes? If so, what about living there?
I would love to see a similar deep dive for Mexico City please :)
Thanks Alex, I was considering La Paz but this shows me I'm not in this snack bracket. Canadian $$$ is hurting.
If you’re thinking about Baja Sur, I suggest checking out Loreto. Haven’t been myself but have heard very good things!
Check the contamination levels of the beaches before going. Fecal matter levels are scary high. We've lived here for years and can't wait to escape.
You're moving because of poop in the water? Where to?
The water is checked once a week for contaminates. You are dead wrong. The water is crystal clear and beautiful.

I love your video of La Paz, could you please give me the information to contact the nice realtor you interviewed.
Send an email to claudia.padron@hostrelocation.com.mx

We rent for under $500, our budget in total is only $1200, we could do it for less...you just live like the locals...😊
