Does she really think a JUDGE doesn't know how jail/prison works? You can't just buy stuff (such as blankets and snacks) from Walmart and take it to the inmate. It isn't a camp or a dorm😂😂

She was right abt the sheets. Upstate, NY you can't buy their sheets, but you can definitely buy all their commissary food because it is better than the food in there and they sometimes sell it for cigarettes, etc. You can mail it monthly or bring it up during visitation, but there is no way the commissary would be over $200 a month. I can understand if she bought him sneakers, clothes and food one month then every other month just snacks and food. There would be no point in getting him more clothes because they are only allowed a certain amt anyway.

That's what I said. NY you can get packages of food, clothes, towels, etc but never bedding. She got caught with that one.
@Chris That's not true in Upstate, NY. They can receive most things accept sheets and bedding, so the lady was def lying abt that. And here (NY) you can bring the items on the visit but the CO takes it from you before the visit
@Chris is shy in NY?? Also if she gets moved for fighting then they remove their rights for packages, visits, calls and commissary. It depends but I had 1 ex that got into 3 fights and by the last one he was on lockdown for 30 days without calls, then he got his calls and visits back but no packages or commissary for 6 months
@Chris oh wow, good luck to her and you! Upstate, NY you can put requests in but without a good reason they will usually deny it. You have to be almost done with you bid. They will move you quicker if you get into trouble.

You are wrong. Upstate NY you mail it or bring it during visiting hours and the CO takes it from you. They don't supply them with barely anything in there and they are hit with fines and surcharges so they don't get commissary in jail for months unless they pay the fees off or sell the items from their packages.
@@SpaceIsThePlace_ That's why they check the packages and ppl don't need to mail it when alot of the COs bring it in themselves and get caught and do time.
In some prisons you can buy outside items for an inmate that have to be checked and verified by the prison before the inmate receives them but it is possible

She names off the good ol' Sanborn Indian reservation, either gas or cigarettes. You can not bring in commissary for the Niagara county jail, you can only add money for the inmates jail account to buy food and items they allow you to chose from. What a gal 😂

We had a special process when I worked in Barnes and Noble where, if you wanted to send a book to someone in jail, you had to fill out a form and have the book sent to the person straight from the warehouse. I HIGHLY doubt and almost know with 100% certainty that the way she is describing commissary is not how it works. Which means she DEFINITELY didn't do it or she would know that's not how it works. Which is probably why she tried to blame the third party so she could play ignorant to the fact that isn't how it works. Smh.

All of the things she reports that she purchased for commissary are not things that are allowed. Commissary and things like sheets and towels are all supplied by DOC to control what is given to inmates!

That's not true. In NY you can bring them food, sneakers, deodorant, lotion, shampoo, tape player, etc. They just have to be to code regulation or they confiscate it. She lied abt bedding and sheets.

@@susiesunshine43 Yea, it's probably because when you get looked up here the DA hits you with fines and surcharges. If you can't pay it off in jail or someone doesn't pay it off for you, commissary money will go straight to what you owe so alot of inmates depend on family, friends or a woman to live comfortably.

Reading the comments about what you can send and buy is interesting how it varies from place to place. In the Netherlands you can get a tv, video game system and curtains. Internet has to be done from a shared computer

@@sburker32 I guess it depends on what the culture values. Men don't sit around wanting to play games here. Pride is being free and independent. In a jail here that is not possible. We have so few women jailed here we have only one womens prison.It is an old palace near Amsterdam

I guess this lady really thinks Judge Judy is stupid. I myself have never been incarcerated but I know plenty of people who have been. You can't bring a prisoner clothes and bedding. Thats ridiculous. Its not a bunch of people on vacation. It's prison. Inmates wear what they are given and sleep on the linens the jail provides.

Inmates in the New York Department of Corrections are allowed 3 packages per month with a combined weight limit of 40 pounds. These packages can contain any approved things that the prison allows. Prisoners can receive packages from Amazon also!
Thank you! Ppl on here that aren't from NY claiming you can't send things. You can send it directly from the site or pick it up and package it yourself. Mail it or bring it during visiting hrs. It just has to be to code regulations.
