  • This stuff is really cool. Even if you don't have a disc grinder.

    About Simple Little Life:
    This channel has sort of turned (inadvertently) into a knife making channel. But the original idea behind what we wanted it to be is this description below:
    Videos on our journey to homesteading. With a recent purchase of a little piece of the Alberta prairie, we're looking to sell our nice suburban home in search of a more meaningful life beyond chasing the "American dream" working for some big company and making someone else rich. It's not about the money, it's about getting the most value from the work I do to improving the life of my family.
    Some preparedness, DIY, building quality things with your hands, guns, gear, and outdoor exploration.

    Since you’re sold out of your sanding blocks I could just take an aluminum block and use this for glueing the paper on it. Wonderful, thanks Jeremy

      I use super 77 spray glue and it works well and easily removed off aluminum block

    I'll have to try and find some, would be very useful. Rather tha business cards, I keep any old credit cards/drivers licence etc as glue spreaders, they work really well.

    That is a great adhesive, I'm a carpenter, so for a lot of sanding jobs like the use on your granite block this is perfect, but also for chisel sharpening. Usually I wet a piece of plate glass an lay wet'n'dry onto it to sharpen chisels and plane blades, mostly it doesn't slip but occasionally the edge will curl up and you catch it and wreck the paper, with this adhesive that wouldn't happen. Gonna have to see if I can find it in Spain. Thanks for showing it.

    Man, I've had that stuff for a while & never even thought about using it for sandpaper on my surface plate, awesome idea... The funny thing about missing the 2 days, I would almost bet it bothers you more than the subscribers... I use to drive myself mad trying to hit upload deadlines & it would completely bum me out... Honestly people are just glad to see more content... Though I do understand the "goal" aspect too.. Keep at it, but keep your sanity too, it's a fine line... Hope all is well, take it easy...

    • @Simplelittlelife
      @Simplelittlelife  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks Dave! Yeah it is a fine line indeed. It’s so fun to make content but the challenge is finding a system to keep it up yet not let it over take having a life. Have a great day buddy! 👍

    Life happens, Too many times I tell myself I’m gonna go to the garage and bang out a knife and someone requires my attention. As a full time commercial plumbing foreman and dad it’s hard enough to find time for my passion of knife making. I couldn’t imagine having all those responsibilities, and trying to edit UA-cam videos on top of it.👍🏻

    Excuses!!! Just kidding, your family is your #1 priority. Given the choice of spending valuable time with your family or keeping up with a 30 day video spree, choosing family was the honorable choice. Keep up the great work!

    Can’t find anywhere in Europe that stocks it. Interestingly it seems to be the same composition as studio gum adhesive (commonly known as cow gum). Going to give that a try.

    I use a crap load of little sanding discs with my rotary grinders and the cost of the Dremel brand crap is flipping unbelievable!!!! The 1" Ez lock ones are like 5 bucks!!! And you only get 5!!!! So I take a 9"x11" sheet of my favorite brand/grit and make my own. I put an even coat of wood glue on the back of the sandpaper and glue a backer to it to make em more rigid and last a lot longer. I'll use cereal boxes and such. Which is perfect. And pretty much free. I'll get about 35-40 1" discs out of a 9"x11" sheet of sandpaper. So I'm betting this glue might not be best for that, BUT I have a plastic disc that I use with the sanding discs when s4@# gets serious and that glue would help me immensely in that situation. Thanks for sharing that!!

    Couldn't tell. Are you using a psa sanding
    disk with the backing still on the disk? Or, are you using a different type of sanding disk?

    Nice tip! To be honest I would rather see a video with substance a couple times a week than have you put yourself into a situation where you're just throwing any old thing on the screen. I know this was a kind of challenge for yourself, relighting the fire so to speak. Don't wear yourself thin to a point where producing content is a chore again. Thanks for all that you and by extension the family does for us viewers.
