Hello, I started homeschooling my 5 yr old son for kinder, I'm debating if I should homeschool him for 1st grade this coming school year...I also have a 1 yr old. Looking at this videos and the comments it gives me more courage to homeschool him for his 1st grade, I just feel he's not emotionally ready for public school...he's going to be one of the younger ones in class.

I am so so glad I found you! We made a last minute decision to HS you just are so like me and your lifestyle is similar to ours . Thank goodness for you !!!
I revisited this and it is still SUPER helpful! this is my first year where all 3 of my kids require some sort of learning and wow, i am SO OVERWHELMED! Im almost to that point of giving up and sending them back to school because i am so worried i am not doing enough at all. Thanks for always being a beacon of light in this journey for me!
This is so awesome! I decided to homeschool my son this year and seeing this and what you do to create a richer and overall balanced daily routine with your family inspires me so much. I created a learning flow(now I know it can also be called Loop Schedule) a week before we “officially” started our homeschool journey this year and as it’s been a month in our 2nd grade year, I’ve been wondering if what I’m doing so far is the right way, etc, but this video really came as a beautiful reminder that I should be proud of myself for landing in this idea of learning flow or loop schedule and making it work for my son and I without actually knowing it was a thing. So happy I came across this video. I feel reassured and re-inspired to continue along with this mindset of teaching. Thank you 😊
Loop scheduling was a game changer in our homeschool, but the way you've got it setup--👏👏 Boss move. I love how you have frequency in the mix. Something that seems so obvious now but didn't occur to me! 🤣🤣 Definitely going to be trying out your pdf! 💕💕
I have been homeschooling my 16 year son since he was 7. He is dyslexic so it has been a journey. We usually use Sonlight but I am very interested in this loop scheduling.
Was it YT that cut you off around the 12:56 part b/c what you were about to say? B/c I wanna know :) I love how you are raising your kiddos and showing them a true heart to Love the Lord. I did my first homeschool day today so looking at a loop schedule. Thank you so much for sharing!
Hi Erine..! Your videos are amazing..! I loved your video of Block scheduling as it helped me lot and this loop scheduling too was great....Since I'm a newbie in Homeschooling field so need a lot of support.. I'm a biiig fan of your Channel. .may almighty bless you with immense reward...
Thank you, Erin, for the video. I have seen your another video on loop scheduling but seeing how to make a list as a sample does help a lot! I also like to ask how you make the detail planning based on your loop schedule. We started homeschooling this summer and trying just 4 subjects at the moment; LA, math, science, and bible. I initially planned just weekly then I actually learned that there would be so many days when plans don't go as planned. I may still be figuring out how long my children will take do to complete something or how long I will be taking to teach a subject that day. I thought we could still be flexible with less subjects covering and I stopped planning. After while, I felt the need of tracking what we were doing and without planning, I couldn't . So I started recording daily what we do each day. Now, the summer is over and as I think we will add a couple more subjects, I feel the need of learning some good planning. I see some moms on UA-cam that they plan a year then monthly then weekly. I thought I was a planner but how do I manage all that time and effort, knowing I still have to change the planning along the way, esp., that we are still figuring a lot things out? What am I misunderstanding about planning? This may be a big request but would you please have time to share how you do detail planning based on your loop schedule?
I totally understand that feeling. I’ve been there too and did things the same way as you when I started. I’m much more of a reverse record keeper as opposed to a pre-planner now. Kind of like you said in recording what we’ve done after the fact rather than plan everything ahead, because things to tend to mess up the plans and it stresses me out! 🥴 I’m going to do a video this month about planing so keep an eye out for that to see how I do things. 😉

I love this idea. I right now m,w,f we do science and art. T, Th we do history and music. we have a daily routine which I love but what I'm doing now for the other subjects feels like we r on a schedule and I just need to get away from schedules. If we miss a day because life then I just have been skipping that subject for the week I don't like that. I'll have to rethink our weekly schedule to see if I can incorporate this. I think it would work better with my children and my brain. I also want to cover more than what we have been doing to bring more "fun" subjects in .And I want Friday ( or once a week) have an unschool day. Our morning routine is all the things we can learn together Wich is everything but reading writing and math because they are on their own levels and is daily.
This came at a perfect time. We are doing an afternoon loop because we are using sonlight for History Bible literature which we do in the mornings which comes with missionary stories. I’m so excited! So For our afternoon loop we are doing Tuttle twins, Dave Ramsey jr series money books, life of Fred and an art book for my littles…. We have planet hungry too and was wondering how I could incorporate that for our sonlight experience but maybe I can just loop it 😂. If all fails loop it right! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for sharing this. Where do you schedule the usual topics like: Science, Math etc? Also, do you do Math and Language arts after your morning loop?

We added baby nr 4 7 months ago and it feels like my homeschool have been thrown out the window with oh so many sleepless nights due to teething. Hoping this will help me get back on track. We have just done the 3 R's and unschooling the rest.
Oh mama, you’re in survival mode! Don’t worry about not getting to all the things. It’s a phase and you’ll soon be able to get back to normal. Doing the 3 r’s is perfect for this time! ❤️
Would love to see your planning schedule. How much time you spend planning and prepping materials and how you plan out and organize the year, month, and week. Thank you for all of these videos
Thanks for watching! I do have an older video about planning our year. I’m hoping to do an updated one but much of the process is similar for us. You can check that out here 😉 ua-cam.com/video/ClGhBB_C6NA/v-deo.html
We love YWAM publishing's Christian Heroes Then & Now series (Definitely check out George Muller! amzn.to/39JpwXQ). Missionary Stories with the Millers is another great book with short stories about missionaries (amzn.to/3LR0m7f Pre-read if you have sensitive or younger kids, a couple are martyr stories or have persecution). The Torchlighters cartoon is great too, not sure if it's still on Prime Video, but worth checking out. Enjoy!
So you are changing things as I just watched on the new video....so did this looping work well-what didn't? I have never looped. should I wait to see what your new plan is? I'm all ears!!
I did change things up with my loop schedule, it was too many different things to cycle through at the same time for us. I talked about that in this video at about 5:53. ua-cam.com/video/pXLTtz04-Jg/v-deo.html
We do math every day (every day except our unschool day). We loop the components of LA, so they are doing something every day but a different topic. I haven’t decided how I’m going to do science yet. My oldest will prob do it every day (except unschool day) and we will prob rotate between that and health for my younger kiddos.
This video is still our current routine: ua-cam.com/video/qaOqxhFuE0c/v-deo.html There might be some small changes once we start up again now that all my kids will be school age, but it will take some time to get into our new groove before I’d be ready to make a new routine video since changes are bound to happen! 😉 There are links in the video description to our geography resources. ☺️
Depends on the ages... For younger kids, we really enjoyed Missionary Stories with the Millers: amzn.to/3vBiNXC. As my kids have gotten older, we have loved the YWAM publishing biography series. This one about George Muller is my fave! amzn.to/3VHgPPZ
Quick questions. When using this loop schedule are subjects like math and LA considered everyday subjects (givens)? Do you still use a block schedule at all? Thanks for all your content btw. Love it.
Thanks for watching! 🥰 Yep! Math and LA are every day (except unschool day). We still use our block schedule. This is just focusing in on what we do during our morning time as part of our Core Block.
Do you do this instead of block scheduling or both? I watched your block scheduling video and then this so am confused? Would you do this after you do your core subjects? I'm confused.
@@bernadetteensley5653 Our core subjects are math and language arts and morning time. Morning time includes Bible study and scripture memory, an enrichment loop subject from my loop scheduling video, and if we have time, we fit in either science or history as well with our morning time. If we don’t have time, we skip it for that day or do it in our secondary block, where anything else would fit that I want to be done for that day. Hope that helps!
Math and language arts we do every day so they are not looped. We do however rotate between writing/grammar/spelling so we aren’t doing each of those every day, but we do cover some aspect of language arts daily.
What does your unschool day look like? Maybe that’s silly but I mean what do you have available for your kids to pursue their individual interests? I feel like during our free time between blocks my kids are doing that. Is unschooling different than a day off?? Genuine questions 😂😂
Great question! At the beginning of the year I have my kids make a list of things they want to learn about. Then we make sure to always have books on hand or resources available that go along with their goals. The time we normally allow in the mornings for traditional school work, they instead get to pursue those interests of theirs. We will often do a field trip, nature walk, or go to the library or runs errands in the afternoon, and listen to audio books in the car. We do it on Wednesday and it helps break up the week and reboot for more traditional work the rest of the week. 😄
With 4 kids, three of them boys, like your family, I’ve learned that peaceful becomes an attitude, not your surrounding environment. Love your content! For instance, I was sending this, my son ran into a chair and started screaming. Things happen, ya know? Anyway, would love to hear how you decide what your unschooling day looks like. Do you plan it? Is it part of the curriculum? Is it entirely delight directed?
Question? I have a 1 year old, 4.5, 8 and 11 year old. My little one is into everything. I’m a little nervous about how it will work out. Any suggestions?? Thanks soooo much for the template! I think I’m going to try some loop schedules ♥️

Oh no! I'm so sorry you’re feeling discouraged! Please don't put too much pressure on yourself to do too much! At that early age, the biggest things to focus on are reading, writing and math. Anything else is bonus! Read books, play games, explore, do crafts. It really does not need to be complicated! I've got some tips for homeschooling when you have littles here: ua-cam.com/video/K7JSztBzYWw/v-deo.html Best wishes!
Where do math, reading, writing, science and all that fit in? I found your blockschedule from 2 years ago, but that doesnt look like how you do school now. What is the rest of your days?
We still follow the same block schedule and do all the other things too. Those are individual subjects. This is just for morning time (group studies). 😊
Do you use a loop schedule or do morning time?
We do a morning loop (bible, pledge, calendar, read aloud) and a core subject loop (handwriting, science math, phonics, reading) with plenty of brain breaks. I have one kiddo and we are heading into week 3 of kindergarten.
I need a loop schedule for my unfinished projects 😅
I do weely loop.
We school year round 6 weeks on 1 week off..
Week one is art/picture study and music study
Week two is nature and geography
Week three is poety teatime and wrting actvties from brave writer.
Week four is books study and games
Last two weeks are reviews and science kits or any projects we have.

Would you kindly tell me what software you used to create your beautiful loop schedule?
I made it on Canva! ☺️
@@TheEclecticHomeschooler Thanks a lot. I love a good-looking schedule!
Do you do this instead of block scheduling or both? I watched your block scheduling video and then this so am confused? Would you do this after you do your core subjects? I'm confused.
This would fall in the core subject block as our morning time loop at 10am snack time. :)
So, you loop core subjects AND the "extras" on separate blocks?
What is the website for finding out what we need to teach out kids again? Sorry. Great video by the way.
Whoops! Forgot to add that to the description. Updating it now, but here you go! hslda.org/legal
@@TheEclecticHomeschooler thank you...
@@TheEclecticHomeschooler I like the idea of making a list of things that might be outside our normal scope! Good idea
What do you use for Mission Study?
This is the curriculum we are going through. pioneers.org/worldviews-a-childrens-introduction-to-missions
Oops just saw your reply to someone else who asked the same question.
Yes! Definitely when I lose my cool, you can be sure that everything unravels. It’s amazing how mama’s attitude sets the stage for everyone else’s. 😅
@@TheEclecticHomeschooler so true! Definitely still working on putting this into practice. 😅
@@jenw8323 Same!
Hi, I couldn't find the video on how you help your children memorize scripture.
Here you go! ua-cam.com/video/kkojVFw6vIc/v-deo.html
Question? I have a 1 year old, 4.5, 8 and 11 year old. My little one is into everything. I’m a little nervous about how it will work out. Any suggestions?? Thanks soooo much for the template! I think I’m going to try some loop schedules ♥️
Hi Lauren! Yes! I did a whole video with 10 tips for homeschooling when you have littles underfoot! 😉 Check it out here: ua-cam.com/video/K7JSztBzYWw/v-deo.html
What will you be doing for your history studies this year?
@@Hedge_Haven We are using Simply Charlotte Mason’s Modern Times curriculum for history. simplycharlottemason.com/store/modern-times-epistles-revelation/
I may have missed it but what type of resource do you use for topics such as hymns, picture study, Shakespeare, etc, or is it simply discussing it? I'm new to homeschooling.
Hi Sandra! I share all the resources I’m using in my Family Subjects Curriculum video. You can check that out here! ua-cam.com/video/tXE5rrovaAs/v-deo.html
I got the map placements, which markers did you say work the best?
Fine tip wet erase markers are best. Dry erase work but they don’t come off as easily, so you really have to scrub.
What do you mean "cycle through ".
Rotating so not all subjects are done each day, just whichever is next on the list.
I’m going to be homeschooling my first grader and kindergartner, with a 1.5yr old and newborn this year. I feel like just giving up before even trying
