hello Fred I live in central Pennsylvania and I just planted 22 containers of potatoes I did Pontiac reds and Yukon golds. I am hoping for a good harvest. I got 10 pounds of each but I cut the bigger taters down and some of the Yukon gold there was a big piece of tater left so I threw it in the sink and ended up canning 12 pints of taters along with having some for supper. 12 of those containers has 5-6 seed taters in the others have 2 because they were 5 gallon buckets. there are already plants coming through on some of them because I planted them in increments when I had time to. can't wait to plant my cucumbers, tomatoes and peppers and this year I am doing a couple of zucchini. hope you have a great year of planting.
you said you misplace your tools a lot, i recommend painting them a bright color, or any color that doesnt blend in with your garden or the ground. ive left tools outside too many times now everything is painted bright orange.
Wonderful harvest you are a great gardener! All your produce is so healthy looking. I digress with a question about Bailey do you take him to the groomers? If so how often. Or do you do it? Thanks for a great show..
You're welcome and thank you for stopping by and commenting…We have a groomer friend who comes over to give Bailey our 8 pound Maltese a haircut maybe every three months… and we pay her thirty-five $35 dollars each time…I hope you have a wonderful day!
Hey Fred, have you ever tried growing potatoes from seed (not a "seed potato", the actual seed)? I'm curious how the yields might differ from "seed potatoes".
For as many plants you have that's not a very good harvest , I use kennebec seed taters and my yield is a tall bucket a lil bigger than the 5 gal. For every 4 hills , we weighed and was 31 lbs. Per bucket
