Summertime - DeArmond pickup comparison - 1944 D'Angelico Excel

- Hey guys, a little nerdy video today for those interested in the sonic difference between DeArmond pickups. I had a similar video on body and Soul, with Bronze strings and nickel strings, but this time they are all played with Thomastik Flatwound nickel wound gauge 13s.
The vintage ones are :
- model Mike, the earlier one, that tends to sound fat and bluesy
- model Rhythm Chief 1000, pretty precise and bright
- model Rhythm Chief 1100, with Adjustable plots, in the sonic direction of the RC100 but a little warmer, and with more possibilities because of the adjustable plots.
I have compared one of each in this video, and also took the opportunity to put a rewound RC1000 (don't know who did it), that was sounding good also, even a little brighter than the original.
The guitar is a 1944 D'Angelico Excel, plugged into a 1968 Fender Princeton reverb amp, flat EQ (5 treble, 5 bass). I'm using a Dunlop 1.5mm pick and the sound is captured with a Neumann TLM 103.

Absolutely fantastic. Great playing as always 👏👏👏👏
I really like the 1100 and the Mike.

This is great. But the 2nd pickup appears to have an incorrect label in the video, since I think it’s the 1000 original, not 1100 original.
When ordering a Guild reproduction I opted for the 1100, since I thought adjustable pole pieces would be needed if I ever wanted to use bronze wound strings. I’ve never tried bronze strings with it though.
Oups, mistake from me, thanks
Some Wes in that. You know "Four on Six" came from Summertime.
