For future reference you can just put the nether quartz dust into the autoclave and get the quartz you wanted in one step, no need for the smeltery yoinky sploinky
There might be a better way for you to progress - get a silverwood sapling from thaumcraft and grow it in separate chunk. You will need a silverwood tree with a node to grow (you will recognise it by big oval spot on one of the logs). This tree will introduce some new passive spawns, some of them are useful traders. I think you will figure out the rest!
If you put any amount of lapis on a tinkers tool, it will eventually grow to 450 with usage (VERY SLOWLY). If you weren't on a skyblock, you could just go demolish a mountain or something. I guess if you find an automatic tool user, you could grow it that way.
You can use the EBF to get steel much much faster, might as well automate it with arc furnace (iron -> wrought iron), macerator (wrought iron ingot-> wi dust), ebf (wi dust -> steel) and you can just centrifuge air for nitrogen and oxygen or electrolyze sugar for mass oxygen (but you will need nitrogen, a lot of it. Might as well do air centrifuge and see if its enough) Additionally, i'd say benzene is easier. Just make some crop harvesters (ic2 is good, but gregtech could be easier) and bonsais. Log -> pyrolyze oven -> wood tar, charcoal charcoal -> fluid extractor -> more wood tar (youll need a bunch of fluid extractors) wood tar -> distillery -> benzene super easy to automate, easy to expand with nitrobenzene in EV and if you need more you can just make more crop harvesters additionally, there is a multiblock that massproduces logs (but i think its in later tiers)
35:28 each row in favorites has an invisible button on the left which you can click and drag/up down. it will form a [ which you can right click to turn into a green one and it will calculate everything for you. very convenient early game!
Great Vid! Time doesn't change in the Twilight Forest so you only ever have to torch the red spots to stop mobs as yellow just means they spawn at night
Power wise and anyone correct me if I'm wrong, when you reach EV you'll probably go the benzene route (Large Gas Turbine) because the multiblock combustion engine highkey sucks, so, I don't think the added complexity of Bio Diesel is worth it at mv. Get a Pyrolyse Oven (Multiblock), this will be your main resource sink in your new power setup, it may be a bit of a grind to get but it's worth it. Your new power line should look something like Wood Farm Logs -> Pyrolyse Oven -> (Gives you Charcoal + Wood Tar, fluid extract charcoal into more wood tar -> Distillery (Benzene circuit) -> Gas Turbine (MV) For the wood farm, you have bonsais as ic2 crops, Forestry tree farm, and later on the EnderIO one. When you reach HV, you can replace your singeblock Distilleries with the multiblock ones (Yes, you will need multiple) Wood tar in a Distillaton Tower gives you a LOT of useful byproducts. In vanilla gtnh, I went with light fuel / Diesel from mv to ev because I could just plop some pumps and get some of that black gold that lasted a good while, but as far as renewables go, I think benzene is just better. By the way, when you start doing some chemistry automation before AE2, don't be afraid of making some ugly ass setups that are unreadable, that's just the way singleblocks work.
Benzene can take you to fusion and its easy to start. Fluid extract charcoal for wood tar and distill into benzene. you should be able to do all of that
ok last thing, the twilight forest dungeon spawn is very predictable, you could theoretically just bridge from one dungeon to another until its the right biom, and then wait for mobs to spawn and see if you get the correct mobs!
I think what happened at the end was when you pressed tab, the game tried to autocomplete the /give command, but since you didn't specify anything to give you, it tried presenting you with a list of literally every item in the whole pack
I think for your purposes a benzene set up would be easier to set up than the combustion generators. It just requires wood as an input and can be automated according to great schematics
You inspired me to get back into GTNH and I do enjoy a good skyblock pack... However, it seems that mobs don't have any ambient lighting on my pack (2.6.0 or maybe .1). How'd you get it for your first episode? It's basically impossible to play without fiery mobs being rudimentary torches in some capacity. Loving the series, keep it up!
FINALLYYYYY LETS FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO And dont be sorry, its just that the content is soo good, I was checking your channel for days waiting for the next video but I think I can speak for everyone that we understand that life happens so dont worry, take your time. Just tell us if you plan to stop the series at any moment so I dont keep checking every day if there is a new video lol
You can use peanuts from pam harvest craft, to get easy to sacale up biofuel, and also you can speed up growth rate of plants by stacking ceiling sprinklers
please sneak right click conveyors with empty hand in the future im not sure if you can do benzene yet, you need a pyrolyse oven to make charcoal, extract into wood tar, mv distillery for benzene and you can speed it up with nitrogen. You kinda want kanthal coils for that tho since it makes the pyrolyse oven way better but dont think you can get that now but keep that in mind
I remeber people saying benzene producing tree farms are god tier. Not sure how viable they are on GoG, but I know Threefold has been running his regular GTNH base of benzene ever since he hit MV.
Welcome back! I'm very happy you didn't get burned out; it's a real risk with this pack especially after a break. I like the blast furnace automation, wonder why it's only pulling out the tiny dust and not the steel... 🤔 "I don't actually know what's going on here" - raven in the background... Maybe it needed the light, seeing as it's a passive mob? Aren't you able to unlock the quest by following the prerequisites?
RE: the blast furnace, it'll be deliberate on the dev's part. It's intended to not be automatable, to encourage going for the EBF. I actually suspect they'd consider the dust extraction to be a bug as well.
also from my own playthrough, i found out that you can put cactus in the coke oven, and put the cactus coal in the coke oven again, and the cactus coke coal is way faster than charcoal. automating cactus vanilla style would be pretty easy.
just make some benezene production for easy, cheap and rewewable fuel source, but you need a stupid amount coke ovens OR 1 pyrolyse oven, but it so worth it, believe me
@@MaterialPlane You need a soft mallet though. I have also read through way too much BOFH and now my association with computers and soft mallets is destruction of evidence stored on HDDs because soft mallet does not leave traces on housing but is enough to destroy platters.
I was craving for a new episode XD For a moment I though you gave up 8) Also, I'm surprised, that you grinded through so much stuff up to this point and now you want to cheat with finding the right spawning place? It sounds like a perfect job for you XD
i think going the wood farm rout would be better. also spamming the steam solar boilers could be a good way to get power until getting everything for the wood stuff.
hey dan, can we get an ETA on when the next video will be for this? im sure the channel members and the community as a whole would appreciate some communication 🤭
Well you are being a SMALL bit silly in thinking that you need Ignis Shards in order to get Ruby in order to craft a (Red) lens, when you can just make an Ignis lens instead (uhhh unless voltages)
I thought the GotG rules allowed questbook rewards excluding lootbags but also only allowed non overworld dimensions for quest progress and not grinding mob drops
Dunno why you need to go to the Twilight forest for rubies all of a sudden... You had a stack and half in a previous episode, though no explanation or guess was given how they came about, they were just used in a craft...
1. getting quartz: - go back to crops, mutate crops to get a yellow stonelilly -> grows sand. macerate sand -> youll get tons of dust which you centrifuge instead of buying from exp. 2. quartz dust can be grown into quartz crystal directly in the clave inside with water. so you can skip growing a perfect crystal and then melting it and then forming back. in overall, you seem like having trouble navigation NEI to find a most cheaper recipe(s).. don't forget to hit R to find all recipes that would produce selected item and then browse for all possible variants (yeah i know it takes time).. but without finding an optimal recipe you gonna spend tons of time doing most convoluted and wasteful recipes using exp farm.. cheap early power source (required an MV electrolizer): - turn charcoal into carbon - have some endless supply of oxygen (electrolysing sugar or oxydized dusts) - react carbon with oxygen in chem reactor to get carbon monoxide - burn carbon monoxide as a fuel in gas turbines. this kind of fuel has low power density comparing to diesel.. but once you set up the basic production chain that will give you endless supply of carbon and oxygen, it is quite cheap and enough to effortlessly power 2 EBF's + all LV machines before you will need to switch to more power dense fuel like diesel or benzene.
This is an incredible series and challenge. Nevertheless, semi-automating the bricked blast furnace *feels* like cheating. I won't report you ;) but it feels like you should get warp for forcing that unnatural configuration. Awesome!
Don’t worry my world isn’t corrupted…

for the record, casted smeltery stuff does auto-eject with hoppers, there's just a visual bug that still shows the last item in the mold when it does
Possibly, but I think in general quartz is just odd as it doesn’t really have a proper name when melted either
Great Vid! Time doesn't change in the Twilight Forest so you only ever have to torch the red spots to stop mobs as yellow just means they spawn at night
I like how he finds the minecart hoppers stacking to "only" three strange, when I'm pretty sure you cant stack them at all in modern vanilla versions.
26:40 thats only a 17% total chance O: lucky!!
Tell me about it, blown away by those rates

As the guy who recommended biodiesel I should mention that it only is meant as an intermediate fuel until benzene is available.

I am fairly sure you can get ruby by centrefuging redstone and you need an EV or higher tier centrefuge to procces metal mixture
Wooooo!!!! New episode, I really needed this! (Genuinely crying rn lol)
I've been checking the channel every day thank god this dropped
