    G'Day MX Factory from Australia. My son and I love your vids thanks. :) My issue with slow wheelies is that i fall to the side. I don't have an issue keeping the balance point, but have to bring the front down very quickly otherwise i'll end up on my side on the ground. I've heard that you need to balance with your hips (or something like that). This isn't so much of an issue if I'm going faster, but i don't have a lot of room for that where I ride. If you're able to make a vid explaining side to side balance while wheeling that'd be awesome. Thanks guys and keep up the good work. :)

      Yeah I get that and ive owned many MX's. There's nothing like a YZ250 or KTM250/300. Ive had a yzf450 and it was a really good bike obviously. But It definitely made trail riding a lot easier with the tractor like torque, you can be lazy basically. Between the overall weight and center of gravity being higher i guess, i just cant get the same fun out of riding say a yzf250/450 as i do with a good 2 stroke...
      Even a YZ125 is a fun bike to ride hard. Im 200lbs and that bike has plenty of power for any hill or jump, if rode right. There's just something really fun about that.
      Anyways back to your point, yeah yzf450 is a wheelie machine lol

    You forgot a common mistake that threw me off. I first started to learn wheelies on a quad which is more forgiving when you turn the handlebars mid wheelie, or your weight not being perfectly aligned with the bike. The most common wheelie mistake I see is people falling off to one side or they land the front end back down without the handlebars being perfectly straight, causing them to speed wobble

    Hey um I was wondering is it possible to use the clutch instead of the rear break because I am thinking of getting a dirt bike but I don’t quite trust the rear brake yet from past experiences.

    My problem is as soon as the front wheel comes up a couple feet I reflexively let off the throttle for self preservation.
    Now reading all the comments below about sprained knees and a cracked spine is only making me feel more tentative!

      If you learn and fear all those, better to have good boots, good knees and elbow protections, a thick jacket and gloves, and learn of softer ground (Trail, dirt, grass).Just avoid concrete till you feel confident.

    Your thoughts on preloading the front suspension to help lift the front end on slow wheelies?

    • @sparkythegreatspetsnaz322
      @sparkythegreatspetsnaz322 5 років тому

      It could help but you have to lean back when you commit,

    • @sparkythegreatspetsnaz322
      @sparkythegreatspetsnaz322 5 років тому +1

      Also you will be standing when you load the forks ,it's easyer to start when in sitting leaned back position.

    I don’t have a bike anymore but I never had to pop the clutch or try very hard at all to get the front wheel on my crf250r to come up in top gear and then just ride out as long as I wanted , also never seemed to need to touch the breaks to stay in the balance point. I suppose this might be more difficult at lower speeds

    I ride an R1 on the streets and can do basically whatever I want on 1 wheel but my ktm 250sx, I can't wheelie it at all. I just can't find a good balance point and can't keep the bike smooth enough to control it. Any tips or ideas why?

    • @justinw1352

      yteka99 I feel the same way lmao, just bought a 2013 250sx and the throttle response is so crazy compared to my crf250 (which is expected) but damn I can’t keep the damn thing up without feeling like I’m gonna tip over lmao

    The *biggest* factor about learning Wheelies that you need to come to grips with (no pun intended) is, you will drop your bike (numerous tImes), you will bruise yourself (maybe even break some bones) and lose skin.....but if you keep at it, you *will* become good at it 🙏🏻🤘🏻✌🏻
