Bro stop running track mode… it kills your battery charger and cools it at the same time. A cold battery is worse than a hot motor. Precondition to a super charger 15-20 min before your run. Once the preconditioning message disappeared you’re at “peak performance” like the model s when you put it in drag mode. My plaid runs .3 seconds faster once the battery is warmed up. My buddy has a m3p and 11.7 is way too slow for a model 3 performance. He runs 11.3 consistently just by warming up his battery and not cooling it down in track mode.
Thanks for the tip, I know to not use track mode and I’ve got the sexy buttons too to help warm up the battery. 11.3 is crazy is that on a fully stock model 3 performance?
@@RichOnTrack Can you run the battery degradation test on your car as a video? I’d like to see if there are any perceived effects from lots of hard launching the car? I have a ‘22 M3P with 25k on it mostly highway running. I feel like I baby the car a bit for fear of wearing out anything. If you’re beating the car and still have good range I’m gonna do mine too lol.
Hey, I have a new model 3 performance. I raced at showtime drag strip in Clearwater FL tonight. I didn't enroute to a supercharger at any of my runs. I ran several 7.30s Even between track mode and sport mode. My best run was 7.28 at 90%of charge
Id love to see a race against a new model S base non plaid. I think those run somewhere in the mid 10's but I'd like to see where it starts pulling away since the 0-60 is the same as the M3P
I would too. I have an M3P and took a test drive on a new Model S. It had insanity mode and was pretty quick. Idk if it was faster than mine, but the motor noise seemed more predominant and there was some wheel spin. But non performance models seem to have less sticky tires. So, I'd love to upgrade that and run it in my M3P
I'd be interested to see what would happen if you went with lighter aftermarket wheels. The OEM Überturbine wheels are hella heavy compared to something like the 18" MW05 from Martian Wheels.
I’m still not interested in EV’s for myself, but I’m really glad people do have fun and actually race them. Your car is definitely capable of 11.30’s if you use drag mode properly. There’s a guy I race at a local track a lot, and his run’s 11.20’s with the interior gutted. He was running 11.30-11.40’s stock weight.
I Really do hope they come with 800 Plus HP! It will be neet to have a plan in place to do a Planned Gut of the interior! Maybe just One super lightweight seat and the ability to put the interior back Quickly, just for racing! I used to do street racing way too much! Only caught caught Once! I fought it in court! Won by cop not showing UP! Dismissed! Judge said to me ... "This is your Lucky Day!" Way Too Many tickets, Won them All! Only one. was reduced to a running a stop light. We Love L. A.!!!@@RichOnTrack
Since you re close to irwindale you should try out the street legal dragway in Perris. EV are going to be constant winners there lolol since its only 1/16 shortest race ever

Hot battery is all you need.
Just got my 23 model s plaid haven’t hit 500 miles yet. Is there like a break in period like a ICE car?
@@Mr.CEO888there is nothing to break in just run it 🤷🏽♂️

That red Plaid is beautiful !
Yeah it is!
Are you using track mode? Isn't that for circuits, but not for drag racing?
Yeah this was filmed a little ago so I know to not use track mode anymore hah
Love the videos man! Just purchased a model 3 performance..love it! Cheers man!!
Thanks for watching you’re gonna love it !
Man!, the Camaro,Mustang, Charger races were Totally Awesome! Thanks!
Yeah so much fun !

I’ll try to get the race going since it’s highly requested haha
curious to what year of model 3 performance you are driving...? thinking about getting a used one
Man, that plaid sure looks like fun :)
The acceleration makes your stomach drop

did that GTR let that plaid go intentionally? all great races. thanks.
I’m not sure 🤔 I think maybe he slept at the light?
Your reaction times are sick, they could give you a Toyota Prius and you'd still beat half the guys out there!

Thanks for the comments! I think I need a warmer battery and a higher state of charge
Track mode is slower for straight line
So I heard that there was talks of Tesla bringing out a model 3 Plaid. Did you hear anything like that?
Yep either a Plaid or Performance Model 3 with the refresh. Hopefully we will know more when they official unveil Model 3 for US
@@RichOnTrack hope the model 3 Plaid happens. Holding out waiting on it. Luv the Model S, but I personally don't need a car that size..
@@Bawla187same I love the smaller size of the 3
Dude; When you stepping up to a Plaid S?
Hopefully next year? I am waiting for the refreshed performance model 3

Fun racing 🙂
Yep!
That mustang sounded uber fast
get a model s plaid your reactions are good
I am certainly considering it! I feel like I’d be nearly unstoppable with one!

Dude, you've got a GoCam strapped to your helmet. Move your head slowly or less frequently as not to induce motion sickness!
Apologies it was my first time ! I have since figured out a better solution haha
That Plaid ran 9.43??? Holy crap. How? Must have weight reduced a lot.
Tesla says they’re able to do a 9.25 I believe so there may be a little more time there
king shows even the losses
Well, with all the money you're making off UA-cam, you make/buy your own 1/4 track. LOL
LOL good joke 😢😭
Who actually thinks mustangs are fast? Lol.
Drag racong in a tesla???? Lol.. zero skill needed...
Drag racing requires zero skills, regardless of ICE or EV.
I just wanna go fast!!
You act like driving in a straight line is hard… lol
Bro, you gotta heat your battery up and leave track mode off.
Monitor temps with the S3XY app.
Do you have any skill?
