Super cool products. The only thing I don't understand is that Molus X60 and X100 are actually from the same product line, but apparently only the X60 offers lighting effects??? Or has the X100 also been updated? As far as I know, there is only this "Music" function.
this light is nice regarding 60. was debating for 300 amazon or this now. I still believe amaran 300 is best for now. i also have 100 moles light. no complaints
Cool video thanks ! If the Zhiyun molus x60 RGB battery dies , can it keep working at full brightness , by plugging in a simple 10000 mA USB-C powerbank that is not PD ? Also can you attach it to steel surfaces magnetically ?
Great...but I wish they would go with a standard form factor across the board and develop these products with some longevity. They are constantly being changed or added to, or very similar products released just months later, and it makes it quite frustrating if you wanted to build a light kit that you could use for years to come.
IMO, this is similar to aputure creating the amaran line that budget friendly with lesser build quality. In order to keep prices lower, companies like aputure must contract and commit to hundreds of thousands of units for parts from their suppliers. When you are sitting on that much inventory, you have reinvent and repackage a product with similar specs that appeals to a different market share.
I watched a video by MarkusPix where he shows that the CX100 can be unsafe to travel with. He put one in a case for a shoot, and when he opened the case, he noticed the CX100 was on. He determined that in the travel time the case was in his car that there was enough bouncing that the power button had been pressed. He saw this as a fire hazard the LED for the light gets hot. Imagine taking this light in a case onto an airplane. Sure, it's probably rare for such a thing to happen. But, the fact that it did happen to him is concerning.
He must have forgot to turn it off because you have to tap the power button once then long press it again to turn it on & off. I just got mine in yesterday
Not gonna say the story is BS, but in the video he shows he doesn't know how to properly turn it on and off when fumbling with it. Is it possible, yes, but very unlikely. Even with the light on, the knob at zero, does not turn on the cob or warm the battery. This is 2 points of failure for this to happen. What is more likely (if it happened) is that the unit was left on and the knob was bumped. Not that you should have to, but a piece of tape would prevent the hazard he speaks of.
@@namv6431 I read all the comments on this thread, and I probably agree on your observations of the story about the guy leaving his cob light accidentally “on” with the dial on lowest setting. The POSITIVE? Everybody needs to check ALL the lights to make sure they are SECURE and SAFE when traveling. It’s a good lesson. 👍
@@zy_cheng I am not sure that comes across. You have Molus, so Molus basic, Molus-SE Molus C100?. Cinepeer sounds like a brand. I have passed on watchin CX100, because I thought it was a knock off. I probably would have bought one, I am right their target. First impressions are hard to erase, we will see
just copped this, can’t wait to see how it comes out to be, hoping it’s my best light ever
now I want a tiny Fresnel lens for them!
I will wait for the Zhiyun MOLUS X100 RGB
Yeah, that seems like a sweet spot for me as well

Hey do you use these as stuido ligths for videos? can you make a video on how to use these lights as a setup for studio talking head shots?
Shorts for performance of this music mode would be nice. Also, what about USB PD, does it affect the output?
yes, suggest to use it equal to or larger than 100W.
Excellent review
CINEPEER CX100 has a really good discount on Amazon, so I've got it at around 110euro (no VAT), very close to the price of the battery only
Hi, What discount was that?
@@realfilms2009 10% was offered on Amazon and 25% coupon code from the Zhiyun web site (- 19% VAT)
whats the best one for filming podcasts and studio photography?
Can you link the bowens adapter that is compatible with the X60?
Zhiyun site says x100 adapter for the x60, in the questions section. I was confused since bh on their site has g60 adapter on the suggested section.
Yes, it's compatible.

If you are not using the PD protocol, it is very likely that it will not work at full power.
A few coworkers keep asking what camera it is lol.
Hmmm 60 watts? I was hoping it could be a competitor to my amaran 150c
Which bowens mount adapter did you use for x60? The pro kit for x60 doesn't contain any bowens mount so I'm a bit confused here.
The ZY mount B can work with X60 which it is the same with X100.
Im torn between X100 and X60 as my first COB light, not sure which one to get (price is not much different).
May be choose yongnuo ynlux 100??

Are these the same brand? I was thinking it was a competidor version. I am confused now.
Yep! Same brand, but different lineups.

@@nyambe it's a product line. Think of amaran and aputure. Taking the same parts and making something less expensive for a wider audience.
I like how your pronounciation of 'MOLUS' almost sounded like 'mirrorless'. I got confused in the beginning 😁
🤣 When Chinese copy themselves and go even cheeper. Next week cinedeeper’s Cx90 for $75
