It actually works very well. It is harder with stacked mags as those used in a standard 1911 (no taper at the top), as opposed to staggered mags in most newer pistols. This technique allows you to keep your target in your sights while being able to visualize the mag well for any obstructions while re-loading the weapon. From there you can raise the loading hand to the grip, activate your slide release then re-engage your target. For the tool below who stated that airsoft is useless...if you train in this manner you will be far more proficient than a typical range shooter who stands there like a target themselves waiting to be shot.
wouldn't this damage the mags when it drops?
you should get at least a lightweight upper shell made out of aluminum. saves you 150g per mag
