The Metals and Rosalina categories are also great because they have category defying stats. The metals having max weight at medium size, and the Rosalina category having stupid high traction for heavies.

I use what alot of speed runners use which is baby peach on the buggy/Mr scooty with rollers and the parachute glider. This combo will work super well on courses with lots of drifting, whereas these karts excel in majority of courses. These combos don't actually differ too much from some of the fastest times on alot of the courses besides the super precise driving of the player
My main combo is a very odd one - Lemmy on the Bone Rattler trike with the roller tires and the gold glider. Not the best statistically but the heavy vehicle helps with being pushed around a lot since Lemmy is featherweight and plus this combo abs great handling and speed for underwater sections, plus with the roller wheels it has good acceleration whilst having decent ground speed, handling and mini turbo. Might not be the best combo but it works well for me.

One overlooked thing about the Metal characters is that they're medium sized and can more easily avoid items, like green shells and banana snipes. Using the Standard Bike with Roller Wheels makes your hitbox so incredibly small it almost feels like I'm cheating a bit.
my most used combination is Daisy (mostly because i like her :p), mr scooty, roller and flower glider. the combination is actually pretty good because the enough speed allows you to do shorcuts in various levels (like the boat ramp skip at the beginning of Toad Harbor in 200CC)

Yea I think he knows that. I’ve been play Mario kart 8 for 2000 hours and Mario kart wii for 6 thousand and had a world record on it. The kart is still needed for good times. The intelligence is pretty obvious
My fav combo is Mario with the biddybuggy cart and the red roller wheels, then with the cloud kite. Decent speed and acceleration with great traction and handling, while being light but not super light. Great combo!

My personal preference is Waluigi, Yoshi Bike, Rollers, and cloud. But it’s because I’m a chad and love Waluigi and wanted him to look like he was riding a Yoshi to victory with red wheels and clouds for aesthetics. Weird how that worked out.
MK 8 Deluxe was my first Mario Kart game since 64 (yes, I'm being serious. I didn't touch anything afterwards because Double Dash gave me shark-jumping vibes). I love these complexities. It really feels like every character and vehicle choice matters.

Roy with the yoshi bike with either roller or azuere roller and cloud or paper glider is a combo i use in standard worlwwide races. For 200 cc i mostly use yoshi and the splatbuggy or biddybuggy. Roy, standard bike, rollers and paper glider works really good for 200 cc.
After watching this guide it felt like I was playing in somewhat hard mode by choosing my fav characters (obviously not included here) and karts solely on their acceleration stats though I still managed to get first in wii u online

Personally, I like Link on the silver arrow with azure rollers to match links blue tunic, and the cloud glider.
