This was published 3 years ago and still an excellent tool, you helped me IMMENSELY and I wanted to take the time to thank you as you took the time to help thousands of strangers. BIG Thumbs Up !!!!!!!
So glad it helped. Thanks so much for your kind comment.
This Video was filmed 4 years ago and still helpful in 2022. Thank you so much
Thank you! I went to the honda website and totally found where to get my code. You are the only person that I have seen that didn't say to call the dealership. You saved me money, thanks!!
Josh Johnson, Awesome, glad it helped! Thanks for your comment.
BRO YOU ARE A LEGEND!!! I had to take off the battery for my 2008 Honda Civic and the radio just said “Error Code” and nothing worked. I saw videos saying the code is in the glove box but my sticker was gone. The link in the description was perfect and now I got my radio back for free! You’re the best man I’ll be sure to write it down for next 👍
So glad it helped! Thanks so much for your kind comment!
Thank you very much I was struggling getting the code. No music for a whole week it was a big struggle 😪 thanks for this video i got music back in my car 😊
Thank God my code was in the glove box and after 10 years it finally asked for a code
Found the code in the glove box. The stickers. The 4 digit code was for the gps and the radio was the 5 digits
how did you put in the 5 digit?
Wow I just looked and it’s there that’s crazy
You’re the best
Just use the numbers on the cd changer I think if im not mistaken... or knob to find the number. Its easy!!
How do you input the 0s?
Thank you, I was able to figure it out. Just needed a little time. Sorry for my impatience.
Thank you. I was lost for quite a while until I found your video.
Thank you so much I just bought a 2010 needed a code dealership give me the runaround now I have music because of your video it was so easy
Thanks to you I was able to unlock my radio . The code was on the side of my glove compartment. Thank you
I didn’t even watch the whole video but it immediately helped as soon as I saw you press the radio numbers thank yoooouu so much
I know this video is 8 months old, but this just helped me get my music back without having to go on the website. I had no card cause I also brought mine used.
I don’t think the amount of time for a video really matters on the type of problem you are having right then and there lol hopefully your Honda will last many years! And you might need to look something up bc you need help with your Honda and it may be 4 yrs old but will still be helpful!
@@lemiwinkx7887 What I should have said was I know this video is 8 months old and my comment may not be seen but this helped me out a lot. I also hope to keep my Honda for a looking time.😊
Thank u so much I was able to find it in glove box your awesome 👌🏼😎
I have a 2012 Accord and I didn’t even know I was so lucky to have the code stickered in the glove box. Thank you!
Qué código era bro
You either have your own code in glove box or you can go online and get it from Honda as mentioned in video.
What is code for 2012
The code will be specific to your vehicle.
Thank you SO MUCH. Finally no quiet car rides
Elizabeth Canady, Glad it helped!
Elizabeth Canady I can't wait to try this in the morning wish me luck
Mine was in my glove box!! 👏🏼 thanks!
Thanks you, for help me. He work. I found the code close to the glove box. Thanks you a lot
You’re a legend. Thanks!
Thank you..I can listen to th radio again..my car had a wrong code on the carc...I found sticker where you showed, which had the correct code...thanks again

You helped me soooo much just now thank you :))))
Helped me today THANK YOU!
Great Video ...found mine in glove box
Thanks for this!
Hi,
I like your videos, nice progression of thought-train and explanation (and occasional tear-down)
I note your first video "Review#1 YOSOO GM328 Electronic Component Tester" got 8k views and lots of comments. That video had fairly low audio levels compared to all other youtube videos that I regularly watch.
Since that first video your audio levels have got far, far worse, they are now so quiet it is almost impossible to hear you.
I feel the low view count you are getting is mainly due to viewers not being willing to ramp up every stage of audio gain they can find and then be deafened by any advertising that gets included or the next non-TTS video.
PLEASE fix your low audio levels so I (and I bet, lots of others) can enjoy your videos.
Looking (and listening) forward to more of your distinctive videos.
Lee Braith, Thanks alot for your feedback. I will make a change on volume level!
@@ThriftyToolShed thanks for sharing, try show screen as well..
It was on purpose as it would show my cars code!
Thank you for this! It helped!
Best video you helped me thank you so muchhhh
YOU Rock!!! 🎉Thanks
Very good
God bless you sir!
Thank you! May God Bless you as well!
I set my clock with the error code on. You need to push the radio button to the "off" position and using the "clock" button, set your hour (H) and minutes (M). My radio is still locked out but at least my clock is correct!
Sorry for the confusion, of course you can set your clock while radio is security locked, I was simply trying to help show how to do both after the battery replacement in the same video. Thanks for clarifying. I did not think about it seeming that way...
Ditto
i have a 2012 accord and mine was in the glovebox with the manual
Awesome!
My code was inside my dashboard ty so much
Thank you very much sir
Thank you sir 👍 it worked 💯
I was lucky it was really helpful
thank youuu🎉!
Thank you dear sir!!
Thank you
Thanks a bunch!!!
When I bought my 2010 Honda used , the radio code was written on a piece of paper in the glove box
Yes, Most used cars no longer have it. If lucky enough to have it that's awesome! A few comments so far have also been people that had the paper and the numbers were not correct
for the car they own!
Thank you 🙏
Life saver
Hi, I like your style, thank you for posting. What if I have a number 7,8,9 in my code?
Seems like that might be your serial number? You will have to use the car VIN and the radio serial number at the website mentioned in the video description to get the radio code.
@@ThriftyToolShed Nope, it was given to me, and stated it was my code. I think I will start with some fresh codes from my VIN and move forward. Love GMC trucks! Never ever did I ever see a code like these- except the pin-out on my garage door opener.🤣🤣🤣
@@MelissaOHarra
Yes, this kind of crap is so aggravating all in an effort to keep thieves from stealing as much as possible. Accords used to be one of the most ripped and stripped cars in America! Might still be?
Thx!
Excelent💪🏽💪🏽
thanks
Me ayudo muchisimos compa
Glad it helped!
My code is 7185B, how do put it?
Did not learn how to apply the code
His arm was blocking the audio system
Yeah, my camera did not work out the best. I also breifly showed it in this video. Hope it helps!
ua-cam.com/video/z-Wvh1uPn2I/v-deo.html
Thanks :), it worked
Bahaa Mohammed, Glad it worked, thanks for your comment!
Sorry, I do not know the answer!
@عيون الجنادب alqhatany radio-navicode.honda.com , this the website, follow the instructions and you'll get 3 codes , the code in the middle for unlocking your stereo.
The code can also be found in on the side of glove box
That is usually the S/N and as mentioned you will have to get the Actual CODE from Honda!
i have a accord 08 and watched another video similar to this but when i let the music play with an aux cord it just completely turns off after a minute or two and it does the same thing with the radio how do i fix this?
Mine was on the back of the the little packet all the Manuel’s come in
My code is one that has a 0 and 7 how do I put it in
I’m on your same spot, could you find out? Lmk please
What if the radio it self won't turn on?... I've tried holding the 1 and 6 and the power button and it won't turn on ... Went to the dealership and they wanna charge me $70 just to look at it... I have the code I just need it to turn on.... Please help 😭😭😭😭
I have not had this issue, I would check the fuse for the radio first, if not that, I would most likely wonder if the power button is stuck? Sorry, I have not dealt with that yet, Best of luck !
BTW, when mine is off, pressing the FM button will also turn on the radio. Just saying that will help determine if the power button is working maybe?
I got the same problem on a 2010.. radio won’t even turn on. I have the code. FM button and Power Button not working
thank you SOO SO SO MUCH FOR THIS! it just helped me 🩶
why is this thing still exist? how many cars radio actually got stolen?
I know, just frustrating for the owners. Battery issues and gotcha! I also miss paying 98 cents to have spare keys made!
Dang thiefs....
I have a 2010 Honda Accord V6 an my radio, clock don't work blank screen but it does show the a/c temperature may need have a bad radio or wiring?
Mine is 2011 i need help
Me too
Do you know how I can get the key with the button. Purchased from auction and it just has a standard key
I have not needed one for mine yet. I have however bought some similar for other vehicles before on eBay and you have to get them programmed!
Thrifty Tool Shed Thanks for the information I’ll check it out
Bought mine new in 2010, changed to Optima Red top in 2012 because Honda battery SUCKED, so does the ridiculous key off draw and the accessory power requirement for key in ON position. Anyways the code was still on the glove box driver's side. I suggest leaving it there. Only an OEM fool is stealing that radio at this point
True. Glad yours was still on your glove box. Many are not and many simply has the S/N and not the code. At this point the security code does no good, just sucks for us trying to work on it and of course the dreaded battery swap! Why....
But what buttons do you press to enter the code?
Once it says enter code you simply enter your code number with the number buttons.
@@ThriftyToolShed Thank you, got it fixed.
Thank you sir 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
it works for usa only not canada
Second time this happened to me after getting work done on my car... smh why do you have to do this every time you get your car worked on? Do most cars do this?
I really dislike the security on these cars. It just make it difficult for the owners. Every time the battery is replaced or disconnected this happens! It's crazy.
What if my buttons 1-3 don’t work
Rachel Lowery lmao right My 5 jammed in right now
Sorry I lost my manual, someone should show 2010 radio code I'll really appreciate
You will have to get your own from the Honda website as mentioned in the video.
Its telling me go to 11.8 station on radio is that on AM???
I found my 5 digit code in the pre-delivery book under "audio code" 31543
This worked for my 2012 Accord... Thanks! 👍🏼
So it's inside the book the one that's inside the glove box?
@@LA_GALLADA_RUIZ The dealer usually writes the code in
@@SteveV6206 yeah mine wasn't in there so I used it the other way all you need is your VIN number and the code the stereos giving you and go to the Honda website type it in and it gives you the code 👍
omg thank you it worked
Anh Quang Ngo,
I am glad it helped, thanks for your comment!
I brought a car from someone and they dont have the code or remember it and it's not in the glove compartment.... how do I go about unlocking my radio?
The exact way I did in this video. Go to the video mentioned and they shared the Honda site to go to with your VIN number.
Not working for my 2010 Honda accord cross tour it keeps saying error I went to the website and got codes😢
So, you got the code from Honda using your serial number and it does not work? Sometimes these are long codes and as you start entering the code it pops up error about half way through and you just keep going and complete putting in the numbers. Just wanted to mention that, that's the only way I know of doing it.
doesnt work in europe??? i dont on mine accord 2009 site asking for us zip code and vin number is not valid for it there
I get a read out showing " diag " when holding 1 and 6 then powering on the radio to find the serial number.....my radio is working fine, but I want to find my radio serial number and code before I change the battery....I just bought the car.....no Honda manual...no sticker on glove box....2010 Honda CRV ....what can I do ?.............thanks
You should still be able to go to the Honda website as mentioned in the video and put in your VIN number and get the code.
@@ThriftyToolShed negative.....the website states you require the radio serial number and the VIN number ....
Yes the video describes all that, I mentioned this is for the Accord. Guess the CRV is different! Not sure since I don't own one.
If you try it to many times do you have to wait to retry
I have never tried more than twice so not sure on this one.
Will you be able to use the code for a different oem radio you bought from another accord?
No
@@ThriftyToolShed So the radio I bought will have a different code? I guess i can just retrieve it and go on the Honda website/dealership and find out the password.
I have not tried, but most likely yes the radio will have different code and the Honda website needs the VIN to get the radio code, so Honda will most likely only give the old radio code not the new one that did not come with it? Unless you have VIN from vehicle the new radio came out of? You may have to ask dealership to know for sure. I simply shared the way I found to get code for my current radio of course. I do not know about a different radio installation.
@@ThriftyToolShed The vendor is gonna write the code on the radio when he sends it. Have you ever looked into one of these? www.amazon.com/gp/product/B088FNR4R5?pf_rd_r=3914CDHT742P9PKH03X0&pf_rd_p=5ae2c7f8-e0c6-4f35-9071-dc3240e894a8&pd_rd_r=8129b299-c27d-467b-9009-c6cc73361041&pd_rd_w=NbMCV&pd_rd_wg=usJCC&ref_=pd_gw_unk
Its basically a plug and play installation, I am seriously considering buying one for my 09 sedan. Plus I have to change some thermostat bulbs anyways and a shifter bulb. May as well hit 3 birds with one stone.
I have not looked into them, but that does look nice. Would be a nice upgrade! Hope it works out well!
Grasias grasias grasias
How long is the code
When I went to retrieve my code I was given three codes. Two which were just repeated and then another one.I tried to enter one of the codes but it said code error 1 afterwards. How do I clear the error 1 message?
Mine actually took the first time as I was on video. I would think you just go through it again?
Mine is not on lock but reading "check" and then "mech error" I need help, what should i do
Although I have not had that, I would check the CD player and make sure a disc is not incorrectly loaded. I have seen something similar on a different vehicle.
Its 2023 and the honda website u provided is no longer available, what other website can I go to for free?
The MYGARAGE link may work. I have not tried it myself though....
mygarage.honda.com/s/radio-nav-code?brand=Honda
@@ThriftyToolShed 🙏
What if you have a 9 in your #s
You may have the serial number instead of code.
I got three codes back from the Honda website for my car. Two were the same and one was different. None of them work. 🤔
Andres Rodriguez,
Hate that you are having trouble.
I know on mine my code was 2 lines of 5 digit numbers.
Ex:. 12345
45678
I only know that my 2010 Honda is this way, I do not know of any reason why the first 2 code lines would be the same? After I enter the first 5 numbers then enter the second set of numbers mine was accepted. (Just a thought if you only have 2 sets of numbers that are different try putting them in and see if it works)
Anyone else here seen this before?
Andres Rodriguez , btw I do not know if you can tell on the video but when I enter the first 5 digits of the code it beeps three times but continue and enter the last 5 digits and it beeps once and unlocks!
@@ThriftyToolShed wait so you're saying I might have to enter more than one at a time? My codes are like this :
First code : same
Second code : different
Third code: same
@@ThriftyToolShed BUT when I put the first code it displays error code 1 So should I continue with the second one and then third regardless of this?
Andres Rodriguez, Yes, I believe mine did the same exact thing, the error is weird but just ingore it. Sorry, if my camera angle would have been better, you could see mine did the same thing. The only thing I am not sure about is why you have the same code twice. And I only had two sets of numbers. But some models may very well have three! Hope it helps!
I just changed my battery and now my radio says enter code smh 😩
That's how it goes!!!
Why they tell you the whole story ?
Why do people not ask a complete question?
Does anybody know where the aux entry is on this car?😩
Storage compartment between the seats on the 2010 Accord. It's in the bottom rear of the compartment.
Excuse me, what is the code I use?
If you do not have it inside or on the side of your glove compartment you will have to go to be the Honda website with your vehicle information as the video I mentioned shows.
Thank you so it's was helpful
Is this for the XM radio ID?
No, just the security passcode when the radio is completely locked out. Like after the battery is disconnected or drains too low.
Se podrá en español la e xplicacion
What do I do if the code haves a zero?
I have not seen a code with zero in it. Make sure it's correct for your VIN number.
@@ThriftyToolShed The VIN and code I used did have zeroes - I read that they don't use the letters O, I, and Q and you must use the number key not the letter. Thanks for showing us how to fix the radio - I wish YOU wrote the manuals!
Hi excuse me
I have how Haonda Accord 2012 I was removed My radio & Record but when I’m installed it again it is not working could you please advise me
Share the code if you don’t mind.
OrientalBoy 70, Hi, the code is specific to your s/n. Remember the part in the video about getting your S/N for your radio!
