    I'm 61, have been riding since I was 17. Currently have a Sniper 150 and an R3. Later this year I am seriously considering selling the R3 and buying either a Hunter or a Scram 411 as a replacement. No expressways here in Iligan City, so that isn't an issue.

      . we have the 400cc rule where only 400cc and above can go on the freeways and expressways. the pricing of this is also in the range of other 400cc bikes with the likes of the NK400 from CFMOTO and the 400i from Bristol motorcycles, both of which can travel the expressways. the 650s are selling like hotcakes, these ones I am not too sure,

    • @TheTwinPost
      @TheTwinPost Рік тому +13

      @@GrimYak Hunter/Meteor 350 definitely is not a high speed freeway capable motorcycle. It is a 350cc bike but of a classic understressed nature. For example a Harley Street 750 cannot be compared with a Kawasaki Z800 or a Suzuki GSX S750... completely different machines with different characters.

    • @GrimYak
      @GrimYak Рік тому +8

      @@TheTwinPost it is capable as freeway here minimum is only 80kph. The problem here is price to displacement and if someone is on the fence about it the 400cc rule comes in and this bike automatically gets off the list

    I have owned 30 plus bikes in my life, from 1000cc monsters to Asian market 150s. I have 500 km on my Hunter, the clutch, smooth with nice feeling pull has way too narrow engagement point. The actual clutch actuation uses like 10% of the clutch lever travel when it should use lets say 25%. Both levers are on the far side for distance from the grips, I have big hands and am at the comfort/safety limit. Smaller hands riders, make sure the levers fit you. The other engineering issue are the rear springs, which are way too stiff (unless u are 120 kgs). There is minimal static and with my 75 kgs, minimal rider sag. The rear end is a pogo stick over sharp bumps. rest of the bike is spot on and a joy to ride.

      I have put 2000km on my hunter.
      -Agree regarding the lever reach even for my long fingers it is a struggle. I have tried after market Hitchcock levers great quality but wrong shape of my hand back to stock
      -I have replaced the rock hard rear shocks (and I am 88-90kg), with k-speed diablo $300AU delivered to door much better.
      -clutch lever your right not much travel in the friction point
      -love the allow rims not way I want to be cleaning spoked rims

      As a Filipino, the sentiment of my fellow Pinoy, it is much more logical and financially wise to buy the Dominar 400, than RE Hunter 350. We have a 400cc and above expressway (highway) legal rule in Luzon area. If we didn't have such rule, this will be a, much, much more popular than Dominar 400. Only very few Filipino will buy this.
      This MC is included in my lost of MC that I will buy as a first MC.

I don’t know if Royal Enfield deliberately screwed up or just don’t care what consumers really want but 20 horsepower out of a 350 is really poor. Lost my purchase to Triumph. 40 yrs riding and I can’t figure out where they went wrong. Maybe they should sit down with the Triumph engineers and build a better engine for the next generation because this is simply lacking too much

    Ouch, this is not going to sell a lot. price of a 400 but only a 350. in the Philippines thats a critical dividing line for people who are looking to buy bigger CC bikes.
