omega-6 fatty acids play a crucial role in brain function, and normal growth and development. However, you have to consume foods high in omega-3 to displace the omega-6 fatty acids in formation of, for example, pro-inflammatory chemicals. Replacing omega-6 with saturated fat is still not recommended. Further research is needed in all aspects of fats and health. The omega-6:omega-3 (ratio) is important for good health. Focusing only on omega-6 and ignoring omega-3 fats and the food that contain them is a problem in the Western diet, especially in the US

And it resulted in some painful acne breakouts and kitchen accidents. But I blame myself for not prioritizing my diet. I should have come up with some other coping mechanism vs awful food and drinking. Really my own fault and I’ll never forget the breakouts if I’m ever tempted again lol. Plus it’s a good idea not to eat at chain restaurants that are out of fashion, I found that out too. If you go anywhere go to the busy place not someone’s nostalgia place. Such a mistake.

    Here's a ChatGPT summary:
    - The narrative review paper titled "Linoleic Acid Good or Bad for Your Brain" suggests a lack of robust human trials on the impact of diets high in seed oils enriched with Linoleic Acid on brain health.
    - Seed oils such as cottonseed oil, canola oil, soy oil, corn oil, and sunflower oil are high in Linoleic Acid, which is easily oxidized and may drive inflammatory processes in the brain.
    - Diets high in Linoleic Acid are linked to chronic migraines, hyperperception to pain, and negative neurodevelopmental changes in children.
    - Breast milk enriched in Linoleic Acid is associated with reduced cognitive growth and developmental delays in children.
    - Anecdotal reports indicate that removing foods high in Linoleic Acid from diets may improve cognition, potentially due to reduced brain inflammation.
    - Pre-clinical animal model evidence suggests that diets high in Linoleic Acid increase the presence of oxidized metabolites in the brain.
    - The average American diet is high in Linoleic Acid due to the prevalence of seed oils in processed foods.
    - A study reported an inverse association between diets high in polyunsaturated fatty acids and mortality linked to neurodegenerative diseases.
    - A 12-week clinical trial found that reducing dietary Linoleic Acid and increasing EPA and DHA (health-promoting polyunsaturated fats) improved migraines.
    - Epidemiological studies show that maternal diets high in Linoleic Acid can negatively affect neurodevelopment and are linked with developmental delays and autistic traits in children.
    - The content of Linoleic Acid in breast milk has increased significantly over the years, exceeding the minimum energy requirement for infants.
    - There is a call to minimize the consumption of Linoleic Acid to potentially reduce brain inflammation and cognitive decline.
    - The speaker recommends using apps like SeedsGout to avoid seed oils when dining out and suggests that reducing intake of industrialized seed oils may improve brain health.
    - Main message: Minimizing consumption of industrialized seed oils high in Linoleic Acid may reduce brain inflammation and prevent cognitive decline, as suggested by various studies and anecdotal evidence.

and in all this cite negative studies for anxiety clicks while not thinking about wider contexts, did anyone bother to do any research on the effects of too little linoleic acid on the brain considering its part of our evolutionary grass and plant to meat food chain and we have metabolic systems dedicated to processing it ? Correlation is not causation, how do we know its not an imbalance in the omega 6 and 3 precursors ? Or something else in there. I would love to see how they get rid of healthy user bias considering that you basically need to be well off to buy decent grass fed meat with the right lipid balance and/or olive oil salmon buyers are likely to be healthy users. These are the only ways to balance the lipid profiles, balance being the optimal word here. Am going to submit your channel to psi-onic youtuber reviews. He regularly debunks this type of thing

@@marktapley7571 Yeah, obviously we need it but if our ratio is already 20:1, eating more omega 6 sure won't help it. Also he doesn't say anything about the kind in unprocessed foods like virgin olives, avocado, whole nuts and seeds. Just specifically the industrially produced kinds that have gone through high heat processing, bleaching, deodorizing etc. The fact is that polyunsaturated fatty acids are not as stable and when your body is made out of and contains a significant fraction of them, they create more oxidative stress. Just look at those that have testimonials of negated sunburn thanks to lower polyunsaturates in the skin cells. I also have a gut feeling that the saturated fat LDL cholesterol feedback loop exists for a legitimate reason and we're still blind as to why our body considers it beneficial to do so. Much like science had said for ages that we can't process more than 30g of protein at a time for muscle building, though intuitively by our nature, and later experimentally found to be initially false conclusions by limited study shortcomings, and we can process in excess of 100g in a meal.

@@mikafoxx2717 the main problem with nearly all these ALT health DIY gurus is this. They dont study wider contexts and big pictures or try and falsify their own ideas by placing them in context. Their audience requires a simple narrative, listen to the sound of my voice.. take this, dont take that and you will dodge a bullet. Plus they tend to believe a select group of other more sophisticated gurus that are a bit above them in their own small hierarchy. Do you know the brains right hemisphere has more lateralised omega 6 in the form of Arachidonic acid. i.e. a so called pro inflammatory lipid. This represents its natural structure for function. Something I published a paper on BTW. Just because a lipid oxidises does not mean its bad, there might be other compensatory factors in a balanced system, just that we are hearing about those without balanced systems.
And if you look at lipidology text book or study papers then you find that all the things this guy is saying are bad for you, are not only actually part of our natural cell structure and metabolism. They are part of the mammilian food chain for countess millions of years. So balance is they key, and how to achieve that balance and what to take ? I dont know am figuring it out myself, am thinking creating an ai expert fed with dozens of lipidology text books and thousands of papers. Then asking it. Will these guys do that or say "sorry i just dont know", na you rarely see that. Will they do what physionic youtube PhD, does and sift through text books to try and find wider context. No, hes the first I found. Mostly they all have to sell some type of digestable authority packaged with a seemingly plausible, reliable and constant certainty.

I don't know why you say Canola oil is bad as its profile is 62% monounsaturated, 32% Polyunsaturated, 6% saturated. Most of the other seed oils are well below 50% monounsaturated (palm, sesame, cottonseed, soybean, corn, flaxseed, sunflower, safflower...). For comparison Olive Oil has 73% monounsaturated fat. Also shelf life of Canola oil is 12 months which is much better than most of those other oils @ 6 months. Their omega 3 : omega 6 ratio is about 1:2 which is way better(except for flaxseed) than most of the others listed above.

The extraction process for genetically modified rapeseed oil (canola oil) assures that it's oxidized in the bottle by the time you get it. You need chemical solvents at a minimum to extract the oil. Mono unsaturated fats are not safe from oxidation. No fats are. They can all oxidize.

I breastfed my son and would have been using cold pressed rapeseed oil at that time. My diet at that time was generally fish, dairy (no meat) and nuts, fruits and vegetables. It was a generally healthy diet so not a lot of processed foods. My son was certainly not behind developmentally, and I know I am biased but I would say he is very intelligent and doesn't have behavioural problems. He's an adult now.
