Had my Trident for 6 months and you’ve found the same issues I have - seats not great, not great over rough roads and the indicators being in an awkward spot. Glad to know that it’s not just me. Also quick enough to get yourself in trouble. Hard to believe it’s LAMS approved.
Absolutely gorgeous bike, but one thing to be aware of if you are a bit on the tall side is that it's extremely compact. Much more so than the Street Triple.
I just got mine yesterday from Canberra and have already done 200km. It is the best bike I've ever ridden and owned. I would rather ride this than my old r1. You would never know it was a LAMS only bike. It is dam quick and smooth. Absolutely awsome bike. Well done triumph.
Awesome Vid. Nice Job.. Great to see how good of a Learner bike the trident is... Disappointing that you can’t remove the restriction here in Oz. Have a great week and Happy Easter Mate .
Here in Canada, if you want a twin inter-cooled turbo Busa as a 1st bike, you can, with a hefty insurance tag... We have no such thing as A2 things. Personally, I think that new riders should put aside their pride when starting their new rider's life. I love the Trident, ordered one without even sat on one, just can't wait to jump on mine.
Yea absolutely man! Starting small makes you a better rider in the long run, plus it makes you appreciate moving on to something bigger and better. Congrats man you’ll be stoked!
Keen to hear the cardo review, i need to get myself set up properly with a mike also so perhaps the cardo will offer some form of recording facility. Enjoy the Journey Ian Back in Two Wheels
Awsome video, totally genuine , I get my trident in September in gloss black. As we only have demos atmo. I've been waiting since march , love from New Zealand. Regards daniel
Those roads look so darn beautiful to my eyes 😍 Guess u should ride on some Indian roads to really understand y am I saying that 🤣 Great review btw. Planing to buy it next month. Love from India 🇮🇳
Great video, put a deposit on one last week this will be my first bike :) What jacket are you riding in? Also based in Sydney hopefully see you around 👍
Nice vid, thanks so much mate. How would you rate this bike against the BMW G310R? Which would you recommend for a first bike out of the two? Many thanks!
great review but 13000 dollar ride away for this bike is a bit steep considering there selling this bike overseas for the same prizes with the full 80hp version . seen this bike up in person looks great just right but yeah 49hp , has anyone put a power commander in one or flashed the ECU, just saying. been riding a LAMS for 10 years as daily commuter wanted something a little bit better think Triumph has missed the boat on this one. Now looking at the 660 tiger sport hope its not a LAMS bike either.
Hi m can you tell me what you put like GoPro on your helmet and the system that you fix on it . for the sound you do something special thank you. Otherwise I scrambler takes 5.2 seconds from 0-100km / h with original exhaust
More power trip you if you start on this bike. But my advice to me riders is start on a bike that you're not afraid to drop when practicing U turns, etc. And never think it'll be powerful enough for you to keep on your full licence, haha. You WILL want more power after a year.
More Power isn’t always More Better! I’ve had 7 unrestricted riders buy the Trident as another bike for daily riding in their fleet... sometimes a Rocket 3 is too much!
I tried them back to back and found the trident much much much nicer. Given the triple has alot more power in the straights and is lighter on paper but it felt heavier in corners and I just prefered the ergos and feel of the trident. What I like the most about the trident is how playful it is. 2nd gear wheelies were so fun, while I kind of had to work for them on the triple rs.
@@xraybeaver4 i currently own a 2020 cb650r and i’m having a real hard time deciding if I want to trade it in for the trident or not. The only thing holding me back right now is that the trident lacks 10hp to be perfect. And i’m just addicted to the sound and smoothness of the inline 4!😎
Nice lag on the throttle = "good thing" :) I don't know what you are smoking but it must be good. EVERYBODY complains about it. People hoping Triumph will fix it with software.
Everybody as in non beginner riders? Yea that’s fair - remember I’m reviewing for those who are thinking of getting this for their very first bike. Lag on throttle means easy rev matching which is great for a newb IMO
Really considering to get this as my first bike at some point, much love from the United States

In new york got my trident 660 in silver and red the other day such a joy to ride. Cant wait to slap a quick shifter on it.
They look dope, and the quick shifter will make it an absolute beast!

Maybe next year they'll release the de-restriction kit and drop the street triple 660. 🤷🏾♂️
More options either way.
Ordered mine 2 weeks ago. Can’t wait!!
Great review Rob. Looks like a fun bike
Thanks heaps Rob!

I know hey! Such a bummer. Thanks heaps man you too 👊👊
I have no idea why you have only 6.93k subs, you deserve way way more mate! beautiful content :)
Bonza mate. Great vid. Always wanted a Triumph. Maybe one day.
Hopefully one day. Make it happen 👊👊
Let me know if I can help put Outlaw!

Nice vid man,, I like how you review it's pros and cons, ngl most don't describe the experience riding them very well.
Again nice work and keep going.
So good man!! Loving the vids
Thanks heaps man! Glad you dig 👊
Cool cool cool cool cool..super tight review! I loves the 'ripped off section haha totally true. Giveway next week? Superb! Thanks mate!
STAY TUNED!
That bike looks amazing. It could become a beginner's reference IMO.
I'll need to try the 80BHP version once I'm no longer an A2 rider.
Solid review bummer about the restriction. Looks like a slick ride however the xsr700 still tops it for me
Haha yea man - damn Australia. Take one out for a spin, see if it changed your mind
Lol here in the states people do a 2 day course having never even seen a bike, get their license and buy a 1000cc bike the next day 😭.
That is pretty damn crazy!
@@MotoFeelz just one way of cutting the population.
You can technically buy a new motorcycle without a license. I've been riding for years without a motorcycle license. Never got pulled over.
Can't wait for my unrestricted ride to arrive in da States at the end of April.
I bet! You’ll enjoy it for sure!
Sick! Didn’t know the states was getting them!
@@gr8gratz724 ROFL 🤣
@@gr8gratz724 we never get the cool bikes...
Wait the states get the unrestricted version out of the factory?
Between Triumph Trident & Ducati Scrambler, which one would you pick? They are both priced quite close and similar in their power output.
I'd trust the trident more for reliability.. in saying that the ducati scrams are a beast of a machine
Air Cooled ( Duc) VS Water cooled ( Trident) ....

Thanks for sticking around to the end! Yea I need to play around with it some more - see if recordings possible

The MOST sounds exactly the same as the “mod1” we do in the uk

What is it with Triumph seats? I always find them uncomfortable. Though my 110kgs and boney ass does not help.
Hate the headlight, street triple headlight much sexier 😁✌🏼👀
It looks like every other modern retro bike lol
Where’d you get your jacket from man?
This ones from 55collection
👍🏻👍🏻👏🏼👏🏼
🙏🙏
Do you know what sort of top speed to expect from the Lams bike? I’m on my full license but looking for something fun without too insane power.
Do you prefer the Scrambler over this?
Of course!
He’s still learning the names of all the Speed & Street Triples 1 year later... does Rob know what he’s even riding??? Who knows!

agreed with the u turn most practice test will definitely let you drop the bike.
How would the trident compare against the street triple s.......??

seat height should be 780-790mm for beginners
Depending how tall or short they are
Buy a Cod piece or get used to a Tank slapper
Will a 6'4 beginner be confortable to learn on that bike tho?
Probs not
You give off massive peter McKinnon vibes idk why!
Haha 🤷♂️
