    Looks awesome. And within the market place, it's perfectly slotted in below the two Royal Enfield 650s, for folks who're happy with less power (and with keeping the £1500 -to- £1800 price difference). Please, market these in Canada!

    Nice!! I own a XBR500 and the Herald Cafe 400 reminding me of my bike (same engine). Do they sell this in EU? Also interested in the exhaust system und the fork. Thanks for this review!!

    One of the better looking Chinese built bikes, and the Honda clone engine should be enough fun for most people.

    Hello Nick, subbed your channel I have just covered the first 325 miles on my new Classic 400 ( the green one) & absolutely love it! Came down from a beautiful Bonnie T100 but the Herald is so much better on our Fen roads so no regrets. It is as you say very pleasing re style & the sound is amazing, I can't stop grinning every time I turn the key.😁 I hope you get to review the Classic & post your thoughts. That would be awesome! Cheers! 👍

      That sounds awesome. I'm a little jealous to be honest. I'd love to test ride the Classic 400. Maybe you could give Herald a nudge for me as we've never been able to get a date fixed :o( Glad you're enjoying it though.

      @@TheBikingActor I got a test ride on a demo Classic 400 at Stevelin Motorcycles in Ramsey, not far from Huntingdon. Great team to deal with, bought the Classic there n then I was so impressed. Test rode in very wet weather so it had to feel confident & it certainly did. Had many bikes over the years so I knew what I was looking for. We look about the same height Nick so I think you will find the comfort factor is possibly one up on the Cafe. I had a concern that my height might not be conducive to the 400 but I needn't have worried, it is wonderful. These machines certainly get attention.

    It's a pity you didn't get into more about performance instead of looks. I would have liked to know things like top speed, cornering, motorway riding and any vibrating at higher speeds. Does it have ABS? There doesn't appear to have much detail on Herald's web site.

    • @TheBikingActor
      @TheBikingActor  5 років тому

      Signals927 Thanks for watching. I’m not really one for speed I’m afraid. I’m more of a gentle ride on a summer’s day kinda guy. I didn’t notice too much vibration though, and I believe it’s now law for all Euro 4 bikes over 125cc to have ABS. Don’t quote me on that though 😉

    • @makz4924
      @makz4924 5 років тому +1

      We have this exact model here in Philippines, its just renamed Bristol. To answer your question, top speed is subjective depending on riders weight. I weigh 150lbs and i can reach a top speed of 164max. (All stock ofc). Dual front disk w/ABS. vibrations are minimal when it reaches speed around 100+.

    Nice looking bike but the performance is pathetic for a 400cc bike. It makes 27bhp which is about the same as a decent 250cc commuter. It is an A2 licence bike so why not give it the max A2 power of 47bhp? The handling is ok, but nothing special, the suspension is built for budget rather than quality. It does come with ABS though if that sort of thing appeals to you. Overall it is a nice looking cheap bike that is nowhere near as good as the Japanese equivalents. Definitely a bike for posers rather than serious bikers.

    • @diversionbob8482

      Which do you consider to be the Japanese equivalents?

    • @dorsetdumpling9275
      @dorsetdumpling9275 4 роки тому

      @@diversionbob8482 Off the top of my head I would say the Honda CMX 500, the Suzuki GS500, the Honda CBF250 and the Suzuki Inazuma 250. I would also consider the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Royal Enfield Continental GT, although admittedly neither of those are Japanese. The Honda and Suzuki 250's both make about 25bhp and the bigger bikes make around the 47bhp A2 limit.

    • @dorsetdumpling9275
      @dorsetdumpling9275 4 роки тому

      @@diversionbob8482 I also forgot the Kawasaki W800 and W800 cafe, both of which are A2 compliant.

    • @diversionbob8482
      @diversionbob8482 4 роки тому

      @@dorsetdumpling9275 I agree that the Interceptor 650 is a bike that would be attractive to some one who liked the Herald Cafe 400, and I think most would pay the extra for the Interceptor unless they particularly wanted a single cylinder bike. To me the other bikes you mention are not in the same appeal group as the Herald 400, while the Kawasaki W800 is priced to high to be considered. Second hand there are loads of bikes with better performance than the Herald at the same or lower price. I'd go for the Interceptor 🤔 I think!
