Massive spaghetti code leads to seemingly random unintended behaviour when make even minor unrelated changes. Its an awful situation to be in, but after decades of wilful neglect by CA this is where they find themselves.
They really need to fix MP campaign desyncing and allow for easier Hotjoining in MP Campaigns. This becomes an issue when playing with 3 or more people in a lobby. Desyncs and drops become more frequent as the game progresses and with no hotjoin it means everyone has to back out and rehost the lobby. Which takes more time. Also I had a MP campaign where we softlocked the game by me transferring units between armies at the exact same time someone attacked an AI on the other end of the map. The result was neither of us could do anything. No buttons for him at all, and my screen just said waiting for player X attack.
Swiftshiver shards are supposed to be the "shotgun" archer variant and normal deepwood scouts are the long range snipers. Imo a good change. Gives both an actual identity and makes both viable.
I just saw the latest episode of house of the dragon and I thought to myself that the actor who played Aemond Targaryen would make a great live action Mallus Darkblade
@@johanneshertsbergpettersso9650 No, you have to do that manually. Either slowly ingame or far faster the old fashioned way of deleting stuff. Use the taskbar or search function on your PC and search %appdata%. Look for "The Creative Assembly". In there you find the folders for each game. Under save_games you can delete all the save files you want. There is also a video from "Echo of Total War" on YT that shows you how to do it if you are still unsure. :)
Saves for TWW3 usually end up on the C Drive (Windows) even if the game is installed on a different drive to delete en masse. I found my saves in a hidden AppData folder under the list of Users.
Wish they would've fixed the more important issues like AI units in sieges derping out and spreading out across the map, or some AI units becoming invisible despite not having stalk or any hiding abilities or blocking terrain.
The Warpstone Detonation causing the user to instantly die is such a Skaven thing. But it's good that it changed so you don't lose your potentially high-level characters because they blew themselves up.
For me it wasn’t just the characters on the doom wheel but any doom wheel after the forbidden workshop upgrade. The ROR just randomly blew up in melee as well without the upgrade. I’ll check it when I get home.
As someone with a 40 hour khorne campaign as Valkia I can tell you that the Karanak nerfs won’t affect his viability in CAMPAIGN at least, though I can’t speak to multiplayer. I don’t think even with his higher damage output from his spell he would be considered game changing, or worth the cost. In campaign however he’s fantastic. I run him alongside two flesh hounds of khorne and they obliterate back lines. He decimates both hybrid & pure casters through lockdown & does pretty strong damage to normal infantry through cycle charges. His roar buys him room to help him escape a crowd and then charge whatever he needs to get to, and his cronies help him deal with larger groups. I don’t think it’s worth doom stacking flesh hounds with him, but they make for an awesome kill team if you take a couple of them alongside him.

I recently had an issue where, while playing a Valkia campaign, I set one of my Norscan vassals to defend a settlement. What they did was to set up a raiding camp (and, yes, do nothing as the settlement was besieged by an inferior force, but I assume that's just the typical "us R stoopid and passive now derp" AI allies appear to use). Is this a bug or WIA, does anyone know? Should you just not ask Norsca to defend your settlements? I don't care about the gold cost but the Control penalty I can do without.
3:25 I still play RoC. I started a ku’gath campaign. But I only like to play the characters that have very different starts compared to IE. Katarin is an exception because I think at least everyone should win 1 Katarin RoC for story’s sake.
My guess is they changed variables for something that also affects the Chaos Dwarfs, they did add Makaisson's adventure missions one of which features them, sometimes changing a 0 to a 1 causes other 1's to become 0's if that makes sense.
I'd really like them to go back to WH2 sieges and I want the Ai to confederate more aggressively. My campaigns get boring quickly and I think these might be the two biggest reasons. I play with a unit cap mod and my god every time there's an update it makes all the armies boring.
The swiftshiver shards could be allowed to have the same range but then they should cost much more to account for the near doubling of firepower. Also, I feel like they should've left the ability to boost the shrines with your own entity deaths, just fix the messed values that were happening from the tzentch shrine. If someone wants to nuke some cheap units to build up the shrine a little, that's fine as it's a trade off. If it's too good, then lower the values.
Blowing up a marauder to charge your shrine still works. It just no longer gives the mana buff to all units around it anymore which was likely never intended.
Interesting patch. I have a quick lore question regarding Elspeth. Did Amethyst units exist in the lore and/or the table top? If they did not then I think that there could an interesting tweak made to Elspeth where places get to the choice to *choose* which units in each of the four categories are made into Amethyst units. The idea is that the different choices would fit differing play styles for players. While some will try to min/max the system I think that others might find the added diversity a bit interesting. Imagine Amethyst Hochland Long Rifles, Amethyst Outriders with Grenade Launchers, Amethyst Steam Tank with Volley Gun, and Amethyst Helbaster Volley Gun. The idea is to increasing player choice and replayability to the faction. Once the units are made Amethyst they will get four potential upgrades but these will differ based on the units which you choose to make Amethyst. I know that this will require a good amount of coding but I think that overall, if done right, it could be worth it.
Eldred’s Guard Spearmen still not fixed. The shields and the Green armour are fixed, but now they just use player faction colours rather than the black and gold like the Myrmidia Shields they use.
I fully agree with the nerfs, yes they effect MP but in campaign we also face them. While we can adjust easier for unbalanced stuff in campaign its still no fun being steamrollered by an OP faction, or just steam rolling everyone else with no challenge. They need to fix their stupid auto resolve system, obviously it gives different results depending on difficulty levels but the other night i was playing as Chaos with a Khorne army led by a Prince with mostly tier 4 units and another army of Tzinch, again mostly tier 4 units including various heroes throughout the armies and a couple of tier 5 monsters and went to attack Imrik who had just attacked and taken over a Chaos Dwarf settlement so his army was half dead, and i mean every unit was half health except him and his three hawkmen heroes. He had a few dragon princes, many spearmen and half a dozen archers. Expecting a clear and decisive victory with low casualties i nearly clicked the button BUT thankfully stopped when I read it was saying it would be a CRUSHING DEFEAT! After the expletives had finished uttering from my mouth and I looked at the armies again to try and figure out how the bonkers auto resolve came up with that prediction I played out the battle on max difficulites, in case anyone is wondering and the results were unsurprisingly how I thought the auto resolver should have been. From two full armies I lost roughly 280 units, bear in mind that 95% of my units were straight up melee so that's not bad considering and obviously it was declared a Decisive Victory, but this brings up another point. SURELY if the auto resolver had this as a CRUSHING DEFEAT then me just winning it should be a HEROIC VICTORY?! The system is clearly broken in certain situations, but as usual it's unlikely it will ever get fixed. The only surprising thing about that battle was Imrik, he got beaten down by Tzinch halbadiers and the three headed doggo.

Just last night i had my full T4&5 army with Elspith's armory fully upped go against a vampire coast settlement that had just been sacked. 1 half dead lord, and 4 half dead hand gunner pirates apparently auto resolve killed my full health ROR landship, and 3 of my also full health nuln ironsides. Like what the hell? Manually fought it and didnt have to move, arty and land ships nuked the 5 units into oblivion. But on auto resolve it was going to kill 4 of my more powerful units?
Should be fine, buddy. I rarely get any issues with this. My current MP has been through one already and is fine. Will see tonight if it gets broken by a second, i doubt it will.
Why CA still does not fix the TAA? I think is a priority now... Graphic without AA looks bad and FXAA does not improve it... And what about the summoned Ancestral Guard
Chaos shrines are junk again then, better to be on a smaller, more mobile mount now we can't just sacrifice our own troops to proc the effect. Lore wose having Chaos sacrifice their own troops for more power is perfect but I guess balace wise it's terrible.

Glad to see Karanak get some nerfs, though I stil really hope they revisit that Brass collar. Silencing not just spells but also active abilities is incredibly broken and also doesn't make sense within the context of what that item is supposed to do. The collar is supposed to protect Karanak from magic, not stop people from using their learned abilities or items in a massive radius. A better way to implement it would be to make it so Karanak simply cannot be affected by enemy spells. In its current iteration, the brass collar does nothing to stop the enemy from pinning Karanak down with a Net of Amyntok from afar and then blasting him down with cannon, but it will stop Karl Franz from activating Ghal Maraz when fighting him. In keeping with the lore, it should be the exact other way around.
It rarely breaks a campaign. I've been continuing all my campaigns through them with 1 issue. (Orion's war bonus went wacky, but that was kind of fun, so it worked out.)

Campaign is full of exploits and the ability to make OP stuff IF and how you want to. But IMO its better if thats a choice rather than baseline units being stupidly OP.
If they do a huge MP focused nerf to a character like the one Kharanak just got they should add a skill to restore said ability to its pre-nerf state. That way characters might one day have a use for their 50+ skills and the character can still be properly balanced when you acquire it.
It shows 60+ because of install shield. This isn't a steam thing, but a basic windows protocol. If it takes a long time for you, you need more RAM and/or a better processor. Maybe a better hard drive too. (SSD if you don't have one)

Karanak will still perform 95% the same in SP. SP people like to get outraged by nerfs for MP but at the end of the day 99% of MP balance changes have either no impact on campaign or were needed for campaign anyways.
Agreed - You can stlll make the OP stuff in campaign or just slide everything to easy if you want to curbstomp the Ai with a doom or hero stack of cheese

Fuck multiplayer. I'm heartily sick of campaign mechanics, some like archer range harken back to the table top FFS, getting nerfed and decolorized and de-flavored because of a few MP whiners. Never did MP, will never do MP, don't know anyone who does. Know many many players in my community sick of this MP pandering.
Because you’re in your own SP bubble. Turin has 180k subscribers and pretty much 80% of his content is domination MP. Davhplays and humanboy also have a decent following only doing MP. Also I can’t even say these were all MP related. regular deepwood scouts were useless since silver shards had 180 range. That change forces your to make a recruitment decision. Karanek was OP cause you could run around and spirit leech your way to victory in SP.

Yeah, its every ”throne” unit so Anvil of doom and Thorek also runs upside down on the map. In battle its fine. Seems to be a map issue only
But it brings me joy to see the dwarfs sniffing out grudges with utmost speed. At this point I would be quite sad if it was patched.😂

Deleting saves is important. I deleted 20GB with saves from TWW2 and 3, even trough I don't have game 2 installed anymore.

Settlememt defence AR buffs + imrik is a beast in AR.
I know there are some Auto Resolve mods on the workshop. Hopefully they fix your issue.

I mean, they definitely lose some steam, but I never struggled to still beat down enemies. I found it funny that I was getting negative Vassel money.

It still works like that. The bug was that every unit nearby started to generate WoMs themselves.

Silencing not just spells but also active abilities is incredibly broken and also doesn't make sense within the context of what that item is supposed to do.
The collar is supposed to protect Karanak from magic, not stop people from using their learned abilities or items in a massive radius. A better way to implement it would be to make it so Karanak simply cannot be affected by enemy spells.
In its current iteration, the brass collar does nothing to stop the enemy from pinning Karanak down with a Net of Amyntok from afar and then blasting him down with cannon, but it will stop Karl Franz from activating Ghal Maraz when fighting him.
In keeping with the lore, it should be the exact other way around.

It rarely breaks a campaign. I've been continuing all my campaigns through them with 1 issue. (Orion's war bonus went wacky, but that was kind of fun, so it worked out.)

Surely CA will revert Saytang's windbow ability VFX... god i fucking hate how not only they annihilated him, but they completely ruined the VFX too. the windbow ability felt so impactful and unique... now it's just a trash bland missile spell that shoot pathetic yellow noodles...😢

Campaign is full of exploits and the ability to make OP stuff IF and how you want to. But IMO its better if thats a choice rather than baseline units being stupidly OP.
If they do a huge MP focused nerf to a character like the one Kharanak just got they should add a skill to restore said ability to its pre-nerf state. That way characters might one day have a use for their 50+ skills and the character can still be properly balanced when you acquire it.

It shows 60+ because of install shield. This isn't a steam thing, but a basic windows protocol.
If it takes a long time for you, you need more RAM and/or a better processor. Maybe a better hard drive too. (SSD if you don't have one)

Karanak will still perform 95% the same in SP.
SP people like to get outraged by nerfs for MP but at the end of the day 99% of MP balance changes have either no impact on campaign or were needed for campaign anyways.
Agreed - You can stlll make the OP stuff in campaign or just slide everything to easy if you want to curbstomp the Ai with a doom or hero stack of cheese

Fuck multiplayer. I'm heartily sick of campaign mechanics, some like archer range harken back to the table top FFS, getting nerfed and decolorized and de-flavored because of a few MP whiners. Never did MP, will never do MP, don't know anyone who does. Know many many players in my community sick of this MP pandering.

Because you’re in your own SP bubble. Turin has 180k subscribers and pretty much 80% of his content is domination MP. Davhplays and humanboy also have a decent following only doing MP. Also I can’t even say these were all MP related. regular deepwood scouts were useless since silver shards had 180 range. That change forces your to make a recruitment decision. Karanek was OP cause you could run around and spirit leech your way to victory in SP.
