I have good memories summer fishing with my dad. Some of the best fishing I have experience.

Top water action is always a blast
Years ago with my father and son on board, I caught an 11 pounder on a pop R. That lake sure is beautiful. It's nice you taking your uncle out fishing. And putting him on fish!

We all started from the basic and advance from there. A hook and a split short are a good start!

I tried a frog for the first time the other week in the delta. The amount of anticipation you get, hopping from weed top to weed top was incredible. Didn't catch any on the frog but certainly hooked.

I need to get into top water and build up my confidence with a few catch. Not my favorite technique cause I don't really have much luck with it.
I do lots of bank fishing, and I can tell you, the water surface on my local lake is boiling!

I live 5 minutes from a large reservoir and it’s closed down due to high water
I don't know about anyone else, but I like to use a fluke as a top water bait, just like walking a frog. It imitates a fleeing baits fish chase by a predator.
Just got back from New Melones. Could not get them to go on the Introvert but they were slamming walking baits.
