- Ybfv ... tried some freshwater catfishing w/ our good friend Mitch. Spring fishing for Big Channels in shallow coves was a blast. The Channel Catfish were aggressive today. We caught some decent fish & missed a few bigger fish bites. Again all bait was purchased at our local fish market. Tho we had a variety of baits to offer from Mackerel,Chicken Liver,Squid & Shrimp w/ most being caught on the Squid. As usual Jon was on them today, if not for him the sack would be almost empty lol. To say the least we had another awesome day at Napa's counties 'Lake Berryessa' Hope you enjoy the video & it's something your family can do also !

Beaver Slough is always been a really good spot for me bank fishing there at the end of the road I can only imagine having a boat but that's where I've got my biggest catfish

Awesome guys, that is my home lake. Mainly fish for Kokanee and trout. But when we clean them we always go to the same some so that cove has to be loaded with cats with Koke bodyies we dose in there. Another great videos guys.

i lost a pb at lake berryessa.he was massssivvve he snapped my 65lb braid right at the shore he was have been 20+ pounds he was huuuuuge i wish i caught him but shit happens one day ill get another monster but we caught a few 3 and 4pounders after though but certainly doesnt make up for the big one that got away
snapped the braide clean after rolling around a few times my guess is his barbs cuz it

I think you are fishing by Eticuera and yes I have great success getting catfish there. Got my PB 15 pounds there.

Lake Berryessa is my old stomping grounds! my father used to take me up there when I was a kid and we would catch big Channel Cats crappie and bass

What would be the best spot for catfishing at lake berryessa?
We prefer the north end in the spring really after that, almost any area there is 'deeper' cove w/ access to the big main water will do. Evening will be best when they tend to feed good luck have fun thx

Delta is hard one we use a boat & move around a lot try Shag slough in Solano county thx

Yes I can most coves hold crappie try Smittle creek has a few coves w/ easy access or Racoon Lagoon they have been good to us in the past but if your in a boat Putha creek at the north end is one of the better areas. hope it helps thx

You guys should try hogan lake they have really big one no one fish to much for cats and Carps over there and they are dino cought couple of them cat there... and see carp on swimming and jumping at bink.. but love the catch fish golden good eatting

Soak in milk prior to eating worms will exit the meat of course heat will kill them also thx
I’m going on a house boat next week out of pleasure cove, I want to get some catfish any tips? Any spots? Anything? Depth? Weight?
That already a good area for catfish even the dock area can produce Head out front & go to the right bigger coves that are fairly deep try there if no bites move down the bank do cast towards the bank lots of catfish to be had two to 3 oz. weight will be fine w/ # 4 to 5 ot shrimp style hooks work great always hooking them on the side of the mouth ..best advise is buy some squid from the store keep it fresh so keeping the bait cold is the trick when it turns sour the bite will slow down Hope it helps something tells me you'll do fine most of all have fun & good luck ..let us know how you did would be cool thx
