When we lost old Hockenheim, Spa was the last F1 circuit to have that "drive out into the country and back to town" each lap. That's a vibe I'd like to see more of.
My Dream Track Turn 1: Copse Turn 2, 3 and 4: Eau Rouge (Long straight) Turn 5: hairpin Turn 6: swooping left hander, maybe banked? Turn 7/8: Chicane Turn 9: swooping right, again possibly banked Turn 10-13: this is a fun idea. Something a bit like turkey Turn 8 or a triple apex type thing which goes immediately into a hairpin. Could see some outstanding overtakes, it's not actually a brilliant opportunity but when there is an overtake would be amazing Turn 14-18: swooping corners down to final bit Turn 19-21: final three Silverstone corners. Track has a lot of turns but honestly I don't think it that long when you think about it.
I think I did a kickflip on my chair at 10:39. I was wondering why people in the comments of my latest video were absolutely bombing me saying "Do LawVS' dream track!" :D I can't walk away form a direct challenge like this, and believe me... There will be so many ladders, that after you've seen the track, you'll have seen enough ladders until at least.. Thursday! Challenge accepted!
Very interesting, like the layout a lot. If this was in Mexico the altitude would make it crazy with the high speeds! And if this was in Vegas you could have a giant 3d drone ladder spinning above the track! I bet a Mr S. Domenicalli watches this channel and is taking notes.
A bit of a comment on sector 3: While it is commendable to include the Corkscrew in there, the steep elevation change could be a concern for F1 machinery as that dip would cause some level of suspension damage, and the odd moment of the front half bottoming out. An alternative for that: place a reversed Eau Rouge and Raidillion. Flows similarly to the corkscrew, but with less chance of chassis or suspension damage from the dip.
My dream track would use a lot more corners like turn one in COTA where you can have like 4 or 5 cars wide and then narrow it out. I know early laps it can make for chaos but later on it gives a lot of options for defenders and overtaking. I love wide corners that then narrow down into a straight.
My Grandfather raced Laguna Seca in a McLaren Can Am in the 1960s and he would always talk about the corkscrew as being one of his favourites. He said you drove it on pure memory and feel because that whole complex you drove basically blind.
What no roundabout :D? I do like a track with some elevation. Looks like a pretty fun track to drive. The Laguna Seca bit would be amazing, such a great section.
I happened to pick up the old 1999 game Need For Speed High Stakes. There's a track in it called Kindiak Park based off a real life roadway in Canada I think. I can see that layout becoming a good F1 circuit with a few moditications. It will have good undulation and high G corners. Ofcourse it is Need For Speed High stakes so some of the hills and dips were made to make the cars go airborne. We can smoothen those out and elongate the start finish straight, model a pit buiding and paddock around it and we have an exciting track.
Including non F1 tracks, I would love to see a section that includes turns 2 through 3A at Sears Point. Fun natural elevation changes that make the car super light as it comes over the crest at 3A would make for a challenge to get the power down, really putting it in the driver's hands. Or feets.
It looks like fun! But that picture at the start of the chicane going uphill had me thinking Brno. That would fit in with the character of the circuit beautifully (each turn is like a step - perfect for the Ladderhorn lol). I know that it's mostly a motorbike track, but it's one of the most recognisable pieces of such a classic circuit. If wide enough, you might even get an overtake or two heading into it (the bikes tend to overtake on the way out). Other than that, I appreciate your thinking. It's definitely different from the typical dream track and it's a lovely change. You never know, a certain architect might look for "my dream track" videos for ideas... 😉
I really like it, nice mixture and I love the elevation idea. AT the beginning of the video The MOnterray circuit popped into mind, so I really like the carousel section you have included, super nice, now we needa big chunk of land a whole lotta dough to drop on getting it built!, DIbd on the dozer! ;)
This actually looks really fun, only complaint is the cars would build too much speed after that suzuka corner and the DRS curved straight to appropriately use the jeddah corners. Id do the drs zone traditionally straight as an arrow after the kink, but curve it rightward a but more to excentuate the kink and build space, then do turns 13-15 at baku after that straight to bleed off some speed leading into the sweeping jeddah corners. Thoughts?
Welcome to the Ladderton GP 2044! We're here at the iconic Ladderhorn today, the sun is shining, the V10s are rumbling, and we cannot wait to see who comes up on top step (ladder) of the podium!

Not going to lie iv always liked the idea that I could build my own track and not just in racing but in golfing too where you get to make your own fun golf course
I have yet to think of a personal “ideal” circuit design. If I was to name a circuit which I find to be most wonderful, subjectively, it would be Suzuka and then Interlagos. Any dream track of mine would feature the design philosophies or features from those tracks.
This would be a pretty good track. I would remove the Monza section though and slap in the Piratella + Aque Minerali from Imola, thats a god tier piece of Italian track way above anything from Monza, one of my favorite sections.
I'm not too sure about the last sector tbh, the cars slow down A LOT in the last few corners, completely destroying any chance of overtakes into T1 especially with no drs, the rest of the circuit is definitely great overwise!
If this were made in real life I think you'd need to widen the corner a little and add some flow to it but so long as the basic drop was kept that would be OK
Looks like the head of a rhinoceros....... I like the Corkscrew included. Laguna Seca is fighting a lawsuit to shut it down..... another one, it's been a theme the last decade or so. People move next to a racetrack and then complain...... I'll never understand that.

Too many hours playing on that circuit on many different games i suppose 😅

This looks very much like a mirror image of the (horribly castrated) Hockenheimring. I'd rather go with the uncastrated track... in the quiet words of a certain Ayrton Senna: "Nowhere in the world do I feel more free in a racing car than in Hockenheim. From the Motodrom into the forest like a tunnel, you are alone with yourself. A test of courage on the limit."

Fair point. I'd understand if some tweaks and widening needed to be made but as long as the basic DNA remained that would be OK
It legitimately looks like a great circuit to drive!
actually a very intresting design, someone should get onto building it in f1 or iracign(i am too incompetent myself)
Love that you included the downhill corkscrew from Laguna Seka esp. at the end!
