This crossing was filmed on its first day of operation with a brand new automated system, comprised of; new barriers, new alarms, new controls and two new warning lights (one narrow light and one pedestrian light). The level crossing was previously a manually-operated one with swing gates. It was upgraded after Wateringbury level crossing - which was renewed just before Christmas in 2018.

Excellent video! The crossing has hardly changed at all since renewal, though at least the temp fencing was quick to go and it looks a fair sight tidier now. Nice catch of the 4-car train too, quite rare for the Medway Valley!
