This crossing was filmed on its first day of operation with a brand new automated system, comprised of; new barriers, new alarms, new controls and two new warning lights (one narrow light and one pedestrian light). The level crossing was previously a manually-operated one with swing gates. It was upgraded after Wateringbury level crossing - which was renewed just before Christmas in 2018.
At East Farleigh, over a period of 10 days, rail contractor 'Atkins' installed four brand new barriers, two alarms, one new warning light (wigwag), a new pedestrian light and other underground and overground crossing works. The crossing is now controlled from a 'pedestal' (crossing control unit) outside the signal-box which is locked with a key.

Great video! Wasn't this one with both swing gates and wigwags before? Kinda surprised they didn't try to fit the pedestal inside the signal box.

Wait a sec, this is from 2019! I compared the 'UK Level Crossings (2019)' video to this crossing and it is the exact same! So you've been there before and not now!
