- This is a quick highlight of my "Level 1 Scavenge" stream where chat kept distracting me to try some glitches, bugs and oversights.
Let's just say the TTYD remake will probably get broken apart pretty soon. And I'm all for it.

Getting the Blue Key early using Koops is a really interesting one. Seems like you can open the chest forever and see the Puni cage cutscene whenever. So far it doesn't look like it doesn't do anything major. No huge sequence breaks.
Goombella turning sideways is just funny. I assume it's just because the Multibonk Stylish animation gets interrupted and can't finish.
The Mowz text storage glitch hes pretty huge potential. Can't wait to see what else gets found with it.

The challenge I'm doing in this stream is called a "Level One Scavenge". The more well-known version of this challenge is called "Level ZERO Scavenge". In that one you are not allowed to equip badges, effectively being Level Zero. You could also do a "Level -1" challenge, where you ALSO can't use any FP.
I'm doing the "easier" (read "more fun") Level One variation because equipping badges allows for more fun setups and makes it more easy to slide in my own "no superguarding" stipulation. Why? Because superguarding is boring.
With the preamble out of the way, let me explain exactly what this challenge is.
I can only upgrade BP upon level up, but am only allowed to use 3 BP for the whole game. This makes level ups effectively useless, thus staying at level 1.
The "scavenge" part means I cannot use ANY shops or vendors, you can't buy ANYTHING (except the Contact Lens). No Badge Shop, no Item Shop, no Dazzle, No Parlor, No Merlee, nothing. You also can't use cooking. The only resources you are allowed to use is what you can find out in the field.
The big one that isn't exactly clear from the rules is that you CANNOT upgrade any partners. You are stuck with their base ranks. No Multibonk, No Stampede, No Bob-ombast. This really turns things you take for granted on their heads.
And then of course...no superguarding. Use actual strats. Not the B button.

You know is a good remake when it even replicates the glorious glitches (even if it not the same)
I assume the Multibonk stylish animation accidentally rotated Goombella too much or too little, and rather than fix it they just made next part of the animation reset the rotation value to smooth things over... and they didn't account for failing the input.
did some quick testing with the Mowz text storage and picking up an item in tube mode while the text box is open will crash the game, so that's pretty neat!
Edit: Also found that if you walk into a loading zone with the textbox open & the star in the bottom right, entering tube mode pulls you into the next screen but the camera is zoomed in by a lot, which is really odd.

I tried the first one and it works lol. But the second one doesn't work. I did the bug with the star still there and went into a new zone as tube mario it did not work. where did you try this?
@@ajaloy4010 you have to activate tube mode while in the loading zone, you may not notice at first but the camera definitely zooms in. You'll know it when you see it, it's not shown in the video but it is a thing, took me a bit to notice it too.
@@sansgeek456 Oh ok I didn't realize you meant inside the loading zone I thought you meant that I should be in tube before entering it. I'm gonna try it now
Edit: it works, it's significantly zoomed in lol
also for what its worth, with the text box open, i entered tube mode, left it, collected a shine, and crashed as well.
I don’t know why, but in a battle I got hit to 0 hp and just didn’t die. Mario was panting as if he was at low hp, but it didn’t say danger or peril, and it was only after the battle that everything faded to black and it was a game over.
I literally shared a video of me getting soft locked in the pit cause I hammered a pider weird, and it just froze me in that animation unable to move, I was on floor 80😭

Thank god that didn't happen to me when I was doing a Pre-Hooktail pit run.
I ended up fighting the same bandit three times on one floor at one point. Only thing I did was use spin jump but after beating him he didn't dissappear and because mario was still mid jump I had to fight him again. Might be good for money farming if someone can replicate what I did somehow
@@austinlisenbee8415 I had one problem where when I go to do a spin jump first strike Mario would go into his standing state and not do a first strike
That happened to me with the very first pider in the Great Tree but after that I just made sure never to hammer them again. I'm so glad it didn't happen in the pit.

Hypothetically would Mowz' text storage also prevent triggers seeing as it stops load zones
I'm not sure if there would be too many practical uses to it but if it does that would be sick
You can probably skip the chapter 8 Shadow Sirens battle
Since you can get her before Chapter 5 I wonder if there is anything major you can skip that isn't just some minor boss fights
@@colossaldonut5190 Hypothetically there might be a new way to smuggle Flavio out of ch5 with her, if you can skip getting him and then retrigger that later once the shortcut pipe is up
@Fatguy703 I can confirm after testing, and you can skip the second Shadows fight with text storage! The trigger for the fight also seems to only work when going across the bridge from the left, which makes sense from a practical standpoint-
@@Fatguy703you can skip grodus by using paper mode to clip onto the last platform and get into the next room, issue is that the final fight doesn't trigger.

I got a softlock glitch on chapter two when I was trying to hit Pider with my hammer. Mario was stuck on his hammer animation not moving.
Key thing is totally gonna get patched if they are doing patches.

If you jump on a spring in tube mode, mario won't use his back sprites until you enter a loding zone, hammer, use a partner ability or enter paper mode.
I found a glitch in the palace of shadow where i quickly used the GCN music badge and there was no music until i went through a door or loading zone
Hey, I figured this one out myself, it's just a minor graphical thing, but if you have all or nothing equipped and jump, killing an enemy with the first hit of the jump but not pressing on the second, their hurt animation gets stopped and so it looks kinda weird when they die.
I saw that ALOT on my playthrough lol
It's funny, I never encountered any of these glitches (maybe my preferred casual playstyle never put me in the spot of one). I just hope these glitches doesn't sour anybody's opinions on this amazing remake, cuz it's still 9/10 for me (original was 8/10), no game is perfect after all imo, and that's okay! ^^
If anything, these glitches are a boon in the remakes favor. Having glitches like this that might be useful for speedrunning are always a plus, especially since these don't seem to hinder a casual playthrough

I tried multiple times to get the blue key early, but never got it, what am I doing wrong?
Also the game crashed when a Fire Bro was attacking Mario protected by Shell Shield.
Text storage has huge potential with how you can exit the limbo state by rolling. Does it act as loading zone storage? What if you touch a loading zone, then cancel it while touching an enemy?
Hm, so having the text box active stops loading zones. Theoretically then, if you can walk past Zess T. using text storage and then remove the text when you are on the other side, would that then allow you to enter west side early?
But can you get Mrs. Mowz early in order to do that? You can get the contact lens basically right after chapter 1, and Mowz isnt available until after chapter 4? Otherwise a neat idea
Yeah that’s why I said theoretically. I’m sure once someone makes some cheats or mods for the game to get Ms. Mowz early, some better testing can be done.
Got soflocked at the hollow tree in chapter 4 while trying to roll into it.

I don't know if this is considered a glitch, but I swear some of Punio's text in Chapter 2 - mainly in the cutscene when he's arguing with Puniper - feels either unfinished or accidently left out in the remake.

while in th pit of 100 trials i somehow survived a killing blow and kept playing with 0 hp, not at all sure how it happened, i was on floor 83 i think and fightin a pider or whatever the evolved form of them is
I have the feeling, I don't know why (although I haven't played the game, although I will be able to tomorrow) that with the Glitch of Ms. Mowz's text storage,Flavio can be made to follow us throughout the game again.

Bro I got stuck in the blooper fight just staring, happy heart equipped, heart buff and then the fight never started lol, I had to restart the game and trying it again while recording didn't happened again, but it was weeeeird lol

Text storage is extremely broken in the GC version and allowed to skip parts of the game. The fact that loading zones doesn't work with it is very promising but the rest i don't think so.

From what i can see the text storage works with mowz because how the animations play out for her you actively need to stall out her animation with a snap teleporting and then cut through her animation with a hammer attack which any other partner just can't happen with their special because they all either break you out of other animations to force you to interact with them or just instantly do their animations while for her she gives you a second to use any other tool that you have that can allow this bug to happen but this game is still young so we don't fully know how this game fully ticks just yet and i can always be 100% wrong on this so who really knows
