Lid is a great tray or cutting board…….you can carry this backpacking especially if you are sharing the weight with others…..bring along titanium pots and pans nad you have fire heat warmth and food can sterilize water…etc…..works great!
Key to no smoke is to turn the fan on low prior to the fire really getting going…should do it automatically. Just got this set for my son……this thing is awesome. Going to have to get one for myself after Christmas!
