Having received a BioLite Campstove 2 Bundle for Christmas we set out to give an honest test review. The Bundle contains the "smokeless" Campstove, with built in power bank to charge your devices, Kettlepot, flex light and Grill. We put it through its paces first at home but stay tuned for the second part when we head out into nature to test the Grill, on the banks of the Danube in Bratislava Slovakia, using biomass fuels. Will Doug approve of his burgers! 😉

Pack your small blocks or thick branch pieces tight so you can put tinder& small twigs on top, for a 'TOP DOWN BURN', will last about half hour. empty the coals back on top.. super efficient..
lovely video!
Thank you for the tips. Glad you liked the video.

Thank you for watching. It’s a great product very easy to use.
Love your presentation style and your accent. Doug (Doug?) is a fortunate fellow
Thank you that’s very kind. 😀
First grill demo for this that I’ve seen that hasn’t resulted in completely charred food. Well done 😁.
Takes no skill at all 😂 thanks
marvellous! fab review I can really see why the Biolite is essential - outstanding design and the charitable side makes it even more valid purchase. A real must have for any serious camper and fun for family picnics too!
A great, practical product that’s works brilliantly but also looks cool too 😉
great video!
Thank you, very kind of you to say so. Glad you enjoyed it
Great video, burger and drone piloting....
Thank you
Looks awsome :)
It’s a great product easy to use and not too big to carry into the wilds 👌😀
Mine arrived today
Enjoy 😀👍🏻
That cold water appeared to be steaming as it was poured into the kettle, must have been the smoke from the fire 😅
Yes it was a very cold windy day but I can assure you it was cold water straight out of the tap 😂 (not trying to trick you!) On average each time we’ve boiled water from cold it’s taken approximately 6-7 mins
Google says......Can cold water produce steam?
The water has vapor pressure, so it is continuously evaporating, however when it enters the colder air, the air can't hold that much water so you see the clouds of steam (and probably some ice crystals) above cold water in the even colder air.
Boil time depends on your altitude and heat strength
Yes and what you’re burning. Thanks for watching. Happy Christmas.
I leave mine on low and it boils no problem at all
Yes its a great little kettle pot.
What an amazing product review! And the engineering, amazing! Curious about the battery life capacity
Thank you. It’s a great product. We’ve never managed to deplete the battery completely but if you mean long term I’m not sure it’s still going strong. 🤞
Well when I'm out at the camp sight I don't care 10 minutes 20min boil I'm there to relax and chill
Quite right we’ve come to that conclusion too as long as it gets there it doesn’t really matter how long it takes
New sub here, this was an excellent review which was beautiful to watch as well as pleasant to listen to, thank you. I purchased the same bundle but before I venture off to make yummy coffee with the press can you share the ratio of scoops (tablespoons) of coffee grounds to the amount of water (cups or liters) used. Thanks!
Ah thank you very kind of you. Now on the coffee front…. It all depends how strong you like it and the coffee grounds strength! I used 4 scoops of Colombian to max water level but I like it strong. Trial and error mostly. Enjoy your bio lite it’s a fab bundle.
@@BellasBigAdventures Thank you, I am excited to begin my camping.adventures. Be well.
Don't get your hands too close to that fire to warm them after the water's boiled. 😉
Yes it gives off a fair amount of heat!
Very cool device and nice video! How was the cleanup on the grill portion afterward?
Thank you. Not too bad to be fair its never going to be shiny again once you’ve used it but it adds to the flavours 😂
What kind of wood do you use To cook the burgers? Did you identify the word prior to the cook?
I would definitely cook with hardwood only.
Yes we use a mixture of hardwood, kindling and pellets.
We really like your videos. Very informative. My wife ask me a question about which BioLite product charges quickest, or produces the most electricity? Is it the Camp Stove 2, BioLite BaseCamp, or BioLite FirePit? Many thanks, Harold
Thank you 😊 glad you’re enjoying watching. I’m afraid I can’t answer your wife’s question I’ve only tried the campstove 2 but I do know the fire pit doesn’t produce electricity for charging things like phones, only to run it’s internal fan.
@@BellasBigAdventures Many thanks for the fast response. My wife and I live in the Spessart Mountains on the boarder with Bavaria in Germany. I am setting up a 5 day Fishing Camp for June, and am accumulating information to share. I am a BioLite CampStove 2 fan. Add a battery pack and a string of 50 LED Lights and let the fun begin. Thank you for your kind words and honest information. Respectfully, Harold and Gabi
Enjoy your trip sounds like fun.
Thank you! As time has gone on how has cleaning/ wear been? And is there any thing new to add about this ?
The cleaning is fairly straight forward as long as you clean on each use. Same as any regular charcoal style bbq. The grill bars obviously change colour but havent rusted etc. great product. Battery still charging well too.
@@BellasBigAdventures Oh great to know! Ours arrives this week. I shall be copying your cooking recipes!!
Enjoy they’re great fun
So did the coffee press work well??!
Yes it works great. Good seal round the edges. Better than a bodrum I think!
do the tongs come with the kit?
No they’re just cheap kitchen ones from home.
Well done, the only way I eat meat😋
😂 thanks for watching.
That not cold water
Lol I can assure you it was cold water straight out of the tap but the outside temperature was colder so it appears to be steaming, just like mist rising over a lake in a cold sunny day
They kind of push this as a green product to reduce the carbon footprint, but yet you can't change that battery. You'd have to dispose that whole attachment and replace it with a new one. Kind of turned me off of buying one. Too bad, it's a great idea.
Thanks for watching and commenting. I’d say that’s the case with most rechargeable batteries at the moment but provided it lasts a while it will hopefully make up for the replacement part in the future.
Yea =/ if you want something green may as well buy a solar cooker like GoSun
This item is useless in a real life situation try it in the forest with twigs and such and it wont work for shit. I did sadly 4 days hike.
@@Sn00pzor Probably too wet twigs
Welp
@@zana6327 it was a 4 day hike with 0 Rain days and I burned myself so bad i could barley sleep. So it just a bad product( apologies if i sound mad i just dont want ppl to spend 200+ bucks on a product that dosent deliver)
