I've been using a set of those cheapies for years. I did spend a bit of time filing and smooth sanding all the edges around the tops of them to make them quite a bit more comfortable but they're not bad at all.
I bought a couple of these, (not a set), a while ago, as you found out they were great straight out of the box, just a bit of fine tuning! Very handy little tools!
I've got a cheapie from China, it was £21 and has the squirrel tail. It's great for neck transitions, but I sometimes just plane a random scrap with it for fun :)
Cool. I would also like to find with a squirrel handle without spending too much. Mujingfang has a covex and concave small one in ebony. I have their mortise ebony making gauge , and a small convex and bullnose mini plane and a wooden plow plane (not in ebony). Did i say i love ebony? Anyway, you should also check Ken Parkers archtop channel. He shows what hand tools he build or modified specific for archtop guitar building.
I clicked on the link for the Ammoon planes but apparently they are gone… there’s a company called Jiayouy that has a similar set for sale (same factory made but different distributor?)
These look good but be careful. I purchased what looked like the exact same set from another vendor and they were complete garbage, the body wasn't brass and they were completely unusable. The Vendor would not return my money but I managed to get Amazon to step in and take care of it. Meaning I got to keep the set as well. The blades were not horrible and I'm using one of them for a small scraper.

Quite possibly. Look carefully at the blades in the picture, there was a few that looked poor when I was researching

Just brought the last available one off Amazon and it was £40 for the set!
Perfect! 👏
