You could use the capsules for Christmas ornaments. Make a whole with a hot pin or slow drill and string them. Put interesting items in. Those are sold for a lot of money. I started making my own clear ornaments in 2016, with knitting items like socks and sweaters
I will definately be doing something with them that doesn't involve throwing them out. I don't think they are recyclable in New Zealand, so will be looking at options :)

The capsule stores normally like them returned and have mini games with the capsules. You could save them for you trip.

Maybe epoxy glue you can keep the sword together (?)
Going to try my dad welding it, such a shame as it puts me of getting more :(. They look so cool!
