I recently got some fulani braids and if you know me, then you know that it's hard for me to keep braids in longer than 2 weeks. But all of that has changed because of the new Royal Oils collection designed specifically for protective styles! #ad #RoyalOilsPartner Today I'm showing you how I wash and refresh my braids to get rid of dry itchy scalp and extend the life of my protective style! The way the water ran through the braids, the moisturizing of the scalp, and the swoop of the edges, this was so satisfying to watch
Yes!
Same here 👌🏿
Thank you! I try my best to deliver good vibes 😌
yesssssss
Right!
"One more week???" I have had my braids in going on 2 whole months. I refuse to sit in a chair for 6 hrs, to take it out after 2 weeks.
And on top of that you're manipulating and stressing your natural hair to put it in, just to take it out in a few days.
Lol exactly what I said I live mine in for 2 to 3 months and I wash every 2 weeks
Good thing no one asked your preference
Exactly!
@@mashelly____ wow.....
Who ever braided your hair is bomb. You didnt get any frizz after washing 💯💯
“pray continually,”
1 Thessalonians 5:17 NIV
Amen
Yes! Amen to that unwavering faith🙌🏾☝🏾
*I just finished watching the video, and she did everything I do😂 it’s below*
The key to washing your braids (cornrows & box braids) and still having them look good is once you finish washing, moisturize your scalp, and apply mousse to all parts that include your natural hair. Tie it down w/a scarf and sit inter a dryer so the top can dry fast and neatly. The synthetic parts can air dry.
I’ve been wearing braids for years and this has always worked for me. I keep mine in for at least 4-6 weeks
Me too, I would just add that with cornrows I use a soft hair brush and brush the cornrows. The brush massages my scalp and gets in between the parts without disrupting the style, rinse then condition, rinse again. Towel dry put on hair products of choice, tie down with silk scarf and I let my hair dry, no heat. My cornrows can last me for 2 months and they stay clean and fresh.
Whew I cannot imagine myself washing my hair with protective braids. I think I’m blessed for having to wear braids for a month without issues/ itching...
Wash the braiding hair with ACV . The coating on braiding hair often causes the itching
I was just about to type this. It works wonders and no more itching.
Yes...I saw Nap85 do a video using ACV to wash synthetic hair.
Duz that wrk for the pre stretched antibacterial hair as well?....
True
@@nickydancy4087 i do it with that too because it itches now and it didn’t when it first came out
i’m almost 23 and mini marley been killin the natural hair game since i started high school! keep doin ya thing girl! we love to see it 🔥🙏🏽💜
Thank you so much for the support!!
Yes!!!!
You should try rinsing the braiding hair with ACV before you braid! That helps to reduce the itching a lot for me! It could also be the brand of braiding hair too that can cause a lot of itching
That’s right. This is what I do
Adelaide please what is ACV and it will use please explain
I can’t wash my hair with braids. It just makes my natural hair pop out of the braids more and it looks older faster.
Right. Once any type of moisture touches my hair, my hair acts out
I found this works better with smaller braids vs bigger ones. And if maybe if you concentrate the efforts on the scalp, that might work better as well.
Me too, same problem.
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Say it again for the people in the back! When she put that water on theme braids tho 😬🚫🚫🚫
Me too
I literally just got out the shower from washing my protective style! My scalp is so happy right now. Thanks for sharing this with us! Your hair was brought back to life!
That's how I wash my Hair when it's in different Braid Styles. *_My Scalp could never take just throwing a style in and leaving it dirty for 3months._*
Ok yes ma’am! Seeing how this didn’t frizz out for you really makes me want to try protective braids again! 😍
You definitely snapped on the edges. I need that skill.
Ugh! This looked like it felt so good! I literally wanted to go to sleep. Nothing like soothing your scalp and rinsing it.
Use a stocking cap to wash your hair it works so well. And between washes I use dry shampoo to help remove build up on my scalp.
So you just wash it with a stocking cap on? I wanna try it... thanks for the tips. 🙏🏽💕
Oh so very good to see an old schooler like me. I just mentioned this method to someone else.
Play what do you mean by stocking cap? Like we should wear it and wash the hair?
Apple cider vinegar mixed with water is my go to for my scalp. It really balances the ph for my scalp. Relieves me of itching, and really cleans and purifies the scalp. I then wash my braids like normal. And then in a spray bottle use 99% aloe juice mixed with my leave in condition. My scalp is no longer dandruffy or itchy. I also notice I retain way more moisture in my hair now.
When I have braids, I still continue to wash my scalp every 2 weeks. I work out so it gets sweaty. I’ll either use ACV rinse, or get in the shower and wash with shampoo. I use Uncle Funky Daughters Defunk also.
Wow they came out great! I washed my braids once and they were so old and frizzy looking after so I never did it again! They were also really heavy because the water was weighing them down.
when you refreshed your braids, it seemed really soothing 😌
TY so much!! Just ordered the collection from your hyperlink. Amzn so dope! That thang comes TOMORROW!
Loveee, it’s the aesthetics for me💕
I definitely plan to purchase the Royal Oils line. Also, I had the same issue with my scalp and started using treated hair when getting protective styles and haven’t had an issue since.
Your hair always looks so beautiful! 🥺
I have never been this early to a vid that it has 3 comments so far. Love this wash routines for protective styles for me these styles are usually out my hair by wk one because I'm a little bit tender headed and skin sensitive and itching
I love Royal Oils line. I got it last month. I struggle with dandruff and it really helps.
This was very helpful I have this style now very itchy and irritated 😩 watching this I could just feel the relief 😍
I'm latina with 2A hair but I love watching this type of videos ❤️😌
Your braids are so beautiful!😍... Definitely making 'em
This was so relaxing to watch 😍
I’m so happy to see you again
Watching this while refreshing my tribal braids. I used let's jam edge control to do mine.
This is nice, will be trying this to revive braids I really love.
omggg girll thank youuu for this routine!!
I'm excited to try this new line, thx for this video sis! Lawd knows my scalp hates me for getting braids lol
Oh you did that! Love it
Those micro braids look so pretty!
Love these braids!!
Idk why I'm watching this I have locs lol but you most definitely snapped On your Edges this was soothing to watch
I just got fulani braids in last week. My hair is already frizzing and my scalp has been itching. I'm going to give this a try and see if it works. I want to keep my braids in for a few more weeks. Thanks for the info.
This video is SO SATISFYING🤩😍
Yes this is soooo needed
This was satisfying 😭
Love the braids 😍😍😍
Beautiful my nubian sister as usual...love the info!!!!!
With the itchy scalp I also used to experience the same thing. It’s caused by the chemical in the extensions/braiding hair. You need to rinse it with apple cider vinegar let it air dry and then braid.
I use braid spray when I get my hair braided. It soothes my scalp and moisturizes my hair also. I definitely will try washing my hair like she did with holding the ends. Great idea 💡
Pls what braid spray do u use Nd are u a Ghanaian??
@@veronicatawiah3598 I use African Royals Braid spray. It’s the best
I liked before I watch.💜
Beautiful braids!😍❤
Thanks alot very helpful. May you do another one for other different braids like maybe box braids. Would be highly appreciated 🙃🙃
Omg we have the same exact braids lol, you look so pretty 😍
Aaah soo satisfying
Omg you look so beautiful in braids
I really love your braids😍❤
my scalp would be on fire too, so I washed my braiding hair with ACV and it helped SO much!!
I FULLY relate . I always end up taking my hair down after two weeks because I can’t take the itching, even without protective styles I have to wet (not wash) my hair at least twice a week 🤧I don’t know why that is lol
Hey girl ! saw you on my recommendations and had to comment on how gorgeous you are ! You are reminiscent of a Janet Jackson !
Loved the video❤️❤️
This reminds me of when I worked in a salon and the women would come in and get their braids washed and I would use my nails to scrub their scalp and they would be in heaven lol
Love it!! What’s the edge control that you used it looks amazing!
I saw this on Insta, and came here so fast for the full video! My scalp feels better just looking at this! I’m wondering if this would work on crochet braids 🤔.
Yes. I have washed crochet braids.
Hair poppin, skin poppin, white teeth, such a beautiful lady!!!!
So pretty💜
So pretty 🦋😍
Aw thank you for the tips :)
Omg this was awesome. Thank you
The itching on your scalp could also be due to the braiding hair that you use or how your scalp reacts to the hair. Most people use the hair right out the package but it’s good to wash the hair before you use it. I started washing the hair before I used it and there’s definitely a lot less itching. Before my scalp would be itching after the first day or 2.
I shampoo and condition my braids and mold into a updo style for Great wear and allows them to dry.
Definitely need to get those products as i have some knotless braids in🙌🏾😭😁 also, did you braid your own hair? These tribal braids are sooo neat & cuteeeeee💕💕
Do a ACV rinse on the braiding hair before installing the braiding hair. It has an alkaline coating on the braiding hair that is causing your itching. I have no problems since I've been doing this.
needed!
You make me wanna get braids, and mind you I hate getting braids done 😅
I believe in good scalp care so washing is not an option but a necessity. I wash my hair a few times per week. Moisturization is what cares for and grows hair (as well as hair cuts).
Love your braids Brianna good wash
I need my hair braided its getting hot and I'm don't wanna to be bothered doing hair everyday I ❤ your braids.
Good job 💜
So pretty
The music was everything.
I needed this video a month ago. Love this video. I had got my hair done in knotless braids and my hair was itching to bad. Then your braids gets messed up from the itching. So I took them out☹
Needed this video! What color are your braids? I love it.
Beautiful!
Ok girl I'm not the only one I just put some braids in and twos weeks I washed them twice already but yes the scalp honey
Wow I have learned something
I don't wear braids but I enjoyed watching every minute of this video 😂😂
Adorei muito amei o vosso trabalho
Your hair is beautiful 😻. Mine use to itch bad to after about 2 weeks but I found out I was allergic to the Synthetic hair I was using then I switched to Kanoliine hair and human hair and all that bad itching went away so check into that and see if that may be your issue 😀❤️
Wait I love that edges hack !!!!!
I always have problems with the little ends and when I try to swoop them Again I mess the whole thing up lol !
Thank you ♥️
Lovely tutorial. Please what colour of attachment are you wearing ?
Ppl saying their hair would get so frizzy....ya of course but just transition your style. The same way you do when you stretch your washes when you don't have braids in 🤷🏽♀️. Scarves, buns, updos.
Just use some mousse and work with it cause hair should be washed!
What does the diffuser attachment do???? Dry quicker???
Love the color! Is it color #33?
Ooof I get so scared to do that😭😭😭😭be feeling like I'm gonna mess up the style
🔥🔥
Thank you, 😊
Apply "Stop It" on the scalp before braiding your hair it works and your hair hardly gets dandruff or itches
Can't wait for the take down
You look so beautiful!! What color is this hair?
Girl I’m right there with you.. got braids last week and my scalp already flaking
Do you remember what color you used? I love it!
Did u wash your hair before you added the braids in cause that does help too im q new subscriber
