Love you bro. You’re the whole reason I even got into E bikes. I bought a little razor dirt rocket, modded it out and I’ve had a blast ever since. Found a new love and passion, almost like a new meaning to my life as of right now. Haven’t really felt a purpose or a calling in my life until now and I really gotta credit a lot of it to you my boy. Keep up the great work and the great content. You inspire people like me to strive for things they never saw possible in themselves. Thank you.
Blake dude, that is awesome that you have found that thing that really motivates you to participate in life and enjoy it to the max, and it's awesome that you are self aware enough and have the insight to see that. I'm glad I got to read your comment and credit to you for being transparent ;)
I think your stability and control would improve greatly by using a little bigger street wheel such as Milk Racing 16 inch super moto set. It allows for some serious motorcycle tires too. Ultimately being in control like that would allow you to go much faster.....
since you have small wheels, you might have to go even smaller on the rear sprocket, if that's not something they considered when recommending sprocket size. It's a ratio thing.
But still no matter the wheels it should out perform the stock motor on the same wheels, which it's not , it did briefly but not by much. Definitely not worth the cost
So I'm not completely sure BUT I think it will go faster if you get the stock sized wheels. Biggers wheels = higher speed And Smaller wheels = more torque, I think
Well in my mind the bigger the wheel is going to go a longer distance on one full turn compared to a small wheel pretty basic bigger Wheels you should go faster and farther
Yeah you roll a 12-in Wheels going to go one foot you roll up 18 in Wheels going to go 18 in on a complete circle simple bigger Wheels you should go farther distance I'm not sure if it will go faster though
Another great thing about that KO motor upgrade, is that it can go up to 100v. So in the not too distant future, companies will be offering 84v batteries for this hot rod Sur Ron build. Very impressive that the company gives free upgrades too. Another excellent video. Cheers.
Like you were getting at near the end of the video, from what I understand the KO just provides a stronger wider powerband, not higher RPM. But you could use the extra torque/power to gear it for higher top speed and keep a similar power to what your used to.
this guy is so entertaining, i wish he uploaded daily lmao. i guess a part of the charm is the anticipation for each upload tho.. Kepp up the amazing content!
I agree since the KO motor keeps popping the front up every time, he should drop another 4 teeth or so and he’ll help keep front end down and gain more top speed. Since this motor can handle more amperage/heat he can get away losing a few more teeth on the rear sprocket.
My friend has a bac and chi battery with street tires I think tuned at 6000 .I hit 76 mph on it ...😏 That motor upgrade would help holding the throttle for longer periods.Get on a highway so you can hold that throttle the speed picks up after 60mph .Get some body gear to be safe.
@@jimmy7391 it's natural and probably a subconscious mistake from seeing the moto-x riders do it when they take turns during their races. But in motorcycle class the instructor should advise not to do this. Mine did, but I already knew.
I think you would find what your looking for if you ran the 14” mini moto’s, the 12’s are just too small for this type of setup. As it is now you need to still go a lot smaller on the rear sprocket.
ko motor are rated for 100V and controllers 84-100V so if you want the most powerful surron you probably need bigger battery. the motor will spin faster too, so will work better with big sprockets/small wheels like you have. will run more efficiently too with higher voltage/less amps for same power
I agree with you but that would be so big and make the bike look like ish the battery he has already makes the bike look a little off without the risers for the battery cap

Lol I'm glad I stayed until the end! I'm an inverter(motor controller) engineer for one of the big 3, we also emailed back and forth summer of 21 about surron aftermarket parts.
The surging is most likely the battery caping out.. as battery voltage drops the more you draw, as the resistance goes up. So the battery voltage can drop a lot when you draw a huge amount of current.
You are on 100% on the right track. He is kinda just destroying the poor battery. According to the spec sheet the battery can supply a continuous (safe) 22kW and a burst (unsafe and increased wear) power of 29kW. Either way, the motor demands 30kW at its peak, and as such the battery protection keeps cutting out the battery when it attempts to supply more than it is rated for.
Yes pulsing at higher speeds means for that motor you need a higher v batter with a higher discharge that can deliver the power to the motor. With current set up your prob only geting ~70% of the motors true potential! Plus yes bigger tyres etc.
If you running out of corner you have to counter steer her a tiny bit. When the front straightens slightly she'll lie down way more and may save yr butt! Learnt the hard way.. lol Now I know its saved me once or twice.
Although u have had the new intro for a bit, I still can’t get over how good it looks. Very happy that KO gave you some more options. Love the vids Sur Ronster.
if it's still too torquey to keep the front wheel down then you need to keep downsizing the sprocket until the bottom end speed/torque feels like it hasn't been improved THEN you will see the improvement on the top end. if the big gain with this setup is torque then you need to convert that to speed with gear ratio. a ratio that would make your stock setup feel doggish and underpowered on the low end will feel normal with more torque on the new setup and allow you to see a higher top speed. & also if you were spinning a large tire that same speed you might have seen the 80mph you were looking for. hope you get her figured man 🤙🏽
Bro! Yess! But also if I know one thing, you need a universal mount for your phone. A magnet there for your MagSafe phone case to hold onto at the least, plz💛🙏
Dude, I'll be 65 in 4 months. I have NO idea WTF you were talking about as far as "tuning" it. Smart phones and electric anything just blows my mind. Never thought it could be like this. Strange but, fun.
After watching the min-emoto series multiple times over, I have no idea whether to get the min-emoto or the sur ron. I finally saw a sur ron for the first time in person yesterday and someone said it was a sign to pick the sur ron
Definitely higher voltage for higher speed. But in general higher Voltage means you can get the same Power from less Amps. Your controller is limited to only so much current
For the best possible tune ask KO motor manufacturer for rpm-torque graph. Then optimize your gear ratio for your desired load. Simple as that. Or try smaller and smaller sprockets/bigger wheels until you find the best setup.
The torque adds up to speed, the point is that you can run a really small sprocket which gives you more speed but the motor actually has enough torque to give you the power needed to continue that speed. The motor was surging cause you were tuning it past the motors comfortable rpm
Sur Ronster this videos are sick man I made it my goal to try and get a sur ron cuz of you man. Tunes and everything if I can. It will take some blood, sweat, and time. Mostly money but I cant put a price on the amount of fun you have everytime you go for a spin and I want to have that fun so must be worth it. Glooks Sur Ronster
7:50 get a rim lock bro its so worth it, had the same issue on my pitty and I kept ripping valve stems, rim locks are super easy to install and it was soo worth it
Use that last tune you had in the vid where it was smooth and did about 65mph and then drop that rear sprocket a few teeth smaller and you may have it perfect. Its again a situation where you've got so much torque that you struggle to keep the front wheel down, but you top speed is unchanged. Use that motor strength to turn the wheel just a little more and you'll have closer to stock power with a higher top speed.

Shrink the gear ratio. You'll have to sacrifice torque for top speed. The bumping from the motor in the top end could be the motor controller starting to lose control at it's top rpm.
You need an even smaller sprocket or bigger wheels. Because you have the mini wheels the gear ratio is still too small.
