Hola Brad - mine is right behind yours, my blooms are blackIng up but haven't showed signs of opening yet I also have two bloom spikes on mine. This will be the second bloom from this plant that I've seen, when I bought it it had one bloom spike ;)
THANKS, 4 SHARING U NEW ADDITION 2 UR FAMILY.. I HOPE THAT 1 DAY I WILL BECOME AS KNOWLEDGE AS UR ABOUT ORCHIDS.. I'M STILL IN THE NOVICE (BEGINNER) STAGE IN THE US (MILWAUKEE,WISCONSIN) AREA STILL TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT I CAN GROW IN MY 1 BDRM APT W/OUT A GREENHOUSE.. WISH ME LUCK IF U HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS PLZ, FEEL FREE 2 SEND ME SOME...SIGNED DESPERATE BEGINNER..LOL..
Love this nursery! Got so many beautiful orchids: carmelaorchids.net/store5/miscellaneous-genera/monn.-millenium-magic-witchcraft-fcc/aos/ including Magic 'Witchcraft'. Another place you can get it: www.amazon.com/Monnierara-Millennium-Witchcraft-Collectors-Orchid/dp/B018F55VLE
I am trying some Catasetums and Cycnodes for the first time this year. No spikes yet and all are in full dormancy. I have to confess that it's hard to not water plants evan through I know it is what they need. Great video (as always). Best wishes for the new year.
Wade Hollenbach thanks Wade, i have a few others this year as well.... with no spikes... :/ but they still have the leaves, so there is still a chance. good luck with yours
i have this one, but i don't know how to care it. would you tell me the temperature, watering, and moist condition is acquired ? what session this orchid blooms?
I just found your post. My mm looks like it is growing another bulb . do I keep watering even though it is almost Halloween? It still has full green leaves.
Wow Brad! It looks amazing. Next year ill grow mine outside. And see how that works. Your bulbs are much fatter than mine. I think that's due to the artificial lights.
PlantzNThings thanks, very happy with it, it would be great if we get two growths off the one bulb when it starts growing again. let me know how yours is doing and when it starts to wake up
I have two of these ("witchcraft"), one had flowers in Dec 2020 and the flower dried up, but, no leaves have turned yellow and fallen off, and a new bud or something has started to grow at the base? Any suggestions, should I keep watering? The second one has two spikes right now in bloom currently, and again, no leaves are falling off for a winter rest. Any suggestions?
Dear Mr. Brad, I purchased a Monnierara Millennium Magic Witchcraft Orchid and I receive it yesterday it is full of buds they are not open yet my question is should water it every day till flower are open and done or don't water it at all at this point, also should I keep it out of the window, I left it by the window all day today I notice one of the leaf is a little yellow. Thank you
Cyril Sauveur you definitely do not buy this at Home Depot. You either need to go to a specialty nursery or an orchid show or festival if you’d like to buy locally. They’re online as well.
Hi Brad - I have this beauty, flowers finished, leaves have dropped and a new growth is peeking through.... The medium it is in looks just like a lot of sphagnum moss has been added around the original - what medium is suitable for this black beauty?
HELP! Brad, I bought this beautiful orchid and am quickly learning that the care of this plant is very different than the care of the Juss family that I'm used to. All of my leaves, excluding one, have turned yellow and died. I should also include that one half of the bulb appeared to rot. I'm trying to revive this plant but I've clearly been doing it wrong. Any help is greatly appreciated!!
Hi, Brad! Thanks for this video. I recently acquired one. She came with two spikes, about 10 buds on each spike. After just a couple of days, the buds are dropping. I already lost 7 buds. I'm giving her bright shade, temps are 75-80F, and sphag is moist. Leaves are all green. Not sure what's happening. Any ideas? 🙏😭
fifi corina water weeky in the spring and fall, almost daily in the summer. ferts are just what ever is open at the time about once ever 3 weeks when in active growth
This is stunning!! I was wondering if the flowers have gender(male/female/hermaphroditic) like the parent genera and does it shoot pollen like Catasetum? Also if so does it change sex according to different light levels?
I was far too afraid to have orchids with winter rest/dry rest at first. Although now that I have a proper understanding of their behavior - I can't wait to see how my dendrobiums and my euchile/encyclia mariae will bloom. Catasetums are starting to look promising. By the way it seems the site OrchidWeb have a different culture of having theirs bloom: (ua-cam.com/video/28l48ymbEeI/v-deo.html) - - - - - Update: Mine just arrived during the snowfall. It is in spike and it looks as though it will form one more. I see a tiny stub of what seems to be the new growth of the bulb. I hope to follow your advice and make it bloom
I saw the flowers on a plant they were very compact compare to your plant but anyway its beautiful my plant has just brought out bulb which is about. 1' so am looking forward to seeing flowers by spring good luck to us . Thanks
Nice success story. Amazing floresence.
I found an APP called NEPY, for nepenthes info.. It may be of interest to you if you have not seen it already.

OMG What an amazing plant! The colour is just fabulous. You will start a trend and we'll all be searching for one!
Gardening at Douentza haha thanks! I think a few fellow youtubers and I all got one last year, they all seem to bloom at different times
Mine is already out of dormancy and the new growth is getting bigger and bigger every day. Great video!

Wow beautiful!!! Wish I could find these here in Florida, but no luck so far. My search continues though.

I got mine in the Redlands. A little side orchid shop I always frequent. I think any of them will try and find it for you.
Jessica Gajafsky I got one at the Volusia County Fair in Deland, FL last year. I forgot the nursery that was running the booth
I have one and didn’t know to slow down on watering. So thank you.
When should I start watering again. It had a beautiful bloom just like yours.
When the new sprout has already roots about 3cm or longer. Better safe than sorry, let it start growing itself and start watering later

That's a beautiful orchid. Where abouts in Toronto did Plantznthingss get that. I live in the T.O. region. Keep up the great videos Brad!
David Yu that is a good question, head over to PlantzNThings channel and see if you can find last years video, he may say where in it
Thanks Brad. Keep those videos coming. I've learned so much from you.
@David, I saw some of these recently at Sheridan nursery in Mississauga/Oakville. roughly 2 weeks ago.
Thanks Bill will check at my local Sheridans
You're welcome :) good luck with your search.
All my leaves have fallen off & no flowers. Is that normal?
Wow!! Its so beautiful!! I never seen an orchid like this. I would love to get one. Its just hard since home depot always have the colorfuz plants.

Mine just bloomed after dormancy. It’s August. Maybe because I live in FL. Idk
Also in FL Mine has lost all leaves, and water has been eliminated. Do you keep yours in the sun now or a closet type setting? TY

Beautiful plant brad. I have heard you mention in some of your videos about using a light meter, what kind of meter do you use?
Very well done Brad! how often you watered and fertilize it since you got it and what king of fertilizer did you use?
fifi corina water weeky in the spring and fall, almost daily in the summer. ferts are just what ever is open at the time about once ever 3 weeks when in active growth
Could you do an epidendrum or oncidium care video?
Kyler Case yes, yes i can :)
Thanks!

Yours is blooming now? Mine is already dormant.

le piante sono tutte belle ma perché non vengono tradotte in italiano??????
Catasetum, Cycnoches, and Mormodes are genera, not families. Orchidaceae is the family containing all three of these genera.
I was far too afraid to have orchids with winter rest/dry rest at first. Although now that I have a proper understanding of their behavior - I can't wait to see how my dendrobiums and my euchile/encyclia mariae will bloom. Catasetums are starting to look promising.
