@@youisiaint Wrong game mate, the one you have is *Wonder Boy in Monster World* (aka WB 5 MW 3 in japan because they like simplicity) and it's a mainline Wonderboy game (because they're almost all RPG platformer with a bit of Metroidvania put in it). Wonder Boy 3 Monster Lair (not to confuse with Wonder Boy 3 the Dragon's Trap) on the other hand is an auto-scrolling run'n gun that is closer to the Adventure Island game (aka Wonder Boy 1). You should buy the very good Dragon's Trap remake and Monster Boy (which is the newest entry in the serie) if you want to go into the serie
@@ikagura I should have said it's the only one I'm aware of that was released for the Genesis in the US. I remember it being unforgivingly tough, mainly the dungeons and bosses.

Looks like a Parodius game!
Shadowserg: 0:04 I think you mean Masquerade Carp.
I feel like if I ever see another beach ball again, I'm gonna lose it.
These bosses sure do love beach balls...
One of my favorite arcade games,I was used to get as far as round 9 with only 1 quarter.
I totally forgot this game existed but i do love the snake boss
Very cute graphics! Reminds me of Konami's Parodius.
Or Fantasy Zone, or any cute them up
Aye this is one of my childhood
One of my favourite! I play this game still now!
There's a Genesis version of this, right?
Yeah but it's vastly inferior
I own it and it's a completely different game. An action-rpg, or a really long platformer that you can save.

A nostalgia of me and my cousins and brother play co op at arcade.
The soundtrack in this game is so cool
Cool. What's the dodge techinique at boss 8?
I wish SEGA expanded upon this formula for the Wonder Boy series.
4:12 skeletron are awoke
Lunatic cultist show precense

Better than the MD version
berlindude1 have speedrun world record this game need more player & streamer :^)
Very odd entry in the wonder boy series.
Not so much when Wonder Boy 1 was also like it (minus the shooting elements)
@ikagura Except that the game was a constant autoscroller
distorted travesty all boss
