It's kind of insane how knowledgeable you are about paleontology. You come for the TF2 and stay for the knowledge.

I remember back in the JPOG days the best thing to do was turn the guest area into an enclosure and just let the dinosaurs run free across the whole island, effectively turning it into a giant wildlife preserve. You’d put herbivore feeders and lures near the viewing areas to keep them close by and the carnivores would hunt them for food and it created this beautiful simulation of a functional ecosystem. I wonder if we could still do that.

I know I'm in a microscopic minority, but these Jurassic World or otherwise paleontology-focused videos are my favourites. It's very obvious that you have actual passion for it and aren't just going through the motions.

I think I mentioned this before, but your best videos are when you are clearly, audibly PASSIONATE about the topic you're talking about. Your JP vids are a clear example of this. Good work!

The postponing of the movie probably screwed them a lot. I really liked the JWE campaign system and this one was really poor in comparison. They 100% had to some major content in there imo. Likewise the Chaos theory while overall pretty good and supplementing some of the missing campaign content, its biggest issue was that none of the 5 scenarios imo reached the height of the Return to JP DLC from the first game, which was essentially Chaos Theory 1.0, some more creativity would've helped. But yeah, overall a better start than JWE even if it has few minor stepbacks and there's lots of potential, and I don't even feel like I'm on Copium when I say that given how much support the first game had after launch.
Also super impressed with the visuals, be it the dino looks or just the environment. Seeing your dinos in a desert or after a snowfall, specially at night with some lights in the background is honestly some of the most beautiful and atmospheric gaming content I've ever consumed.

looking back at this video, it’s ironic you mention styxosaurus in particular given that last dinosaur pack…
jokes aside, it was fun to revisit this video after how much has been added to the game and see what’s held up and what hasn’t. honestly i think the end of the game’s lifespan is coming up which i think is unfortunate given that it feels like the first game lasted a while longer. my big hopes for what they add to the game, as in, if they add these i think i’ll be truly satisfied, are dig site randomization for challenge mode, taller aviaries for the quetzals (since as is they look cramped in the game’s tiny aviaries) and, most importantly, WING WALKING FOR THE PTEROSAURS.
i frankly find it baffling it wasn’t already in the game given that i’m pretty sure we have seen every single jurassic world pterosaur do it. as is it feels so unnatural for them to just fly -> eat food or drink water -> perch on rock and sleep. otherwise i think they don’t really have much else to add in terms of huge DLC campaign add-ons. Microceratus would be nice too, though.

I honestly wish that there was a separate campaign similar to operation genesis, where it wasn’t this huge massive story that comes to an abrupt stop, but more of “here’s the keys to this park, let’s see if you can make it five stars”
They have this huge storyline that is good, but leaves me thinking “oh cool, tutorials, when do I actually get to play the game?”
JPOG did it perfectly, where it’s just “let’s see you make this park work” and that was the game.

As much as I have come to despise the open world genre at this point, I will admit that one of my dream games is an open world Jurassic Park Survival Horror Adventure game. This has been an idea I have wanted realized since I played the JP games for SNES and Genesis. Trespasser got close, but very questionable design decisions and bad execution hold that game back tremendously. If it were up to me, this theoretical game would have no RPG mechanics, no pointless padding in the form of arbitrary collectibles beyond what would realistically make sense, no climbing a mountain for a worthless reward or any of that bullocks, just you, alone, on the island either during or post disaster with the dinos out of their cages and all the new hazards created due to them running amok while you try to gather supplies, find a way to escape, and maybe preserve as much of Ingen's data in the process. The Dead Rising formula of finding survivors and having them help you could also add a layer of depth to the game, though I would imagine that the AI and range of actions would have to be vastly expanded if they were added. A concept like this is money hiding in the ground and it saddens me that studios are too risk averse to even consider the idea.

the Camp Cretaceous series could serve as the basis of the story, though it would likely require AI if more than one of the teens were on the island at the same time outside of a hypothetical multiplayer mode

I haven't played chaos theory, but I did beat campaign mode and a good amount the challenges done. My biggest issue honestly is the way the challenges work as far as research and unlocking things goes. You are given so many options, so you end up with choice paralysis and not enough slots to research what you want till you've really gotten going. I'm also a huge fan of the increased expedition yield, but I really wish that the research was a little more streamlined, but I'm not really sure how to accomplish that. Overall I've really enjoyed the game, even if it's a little too beefy for my computer so I have to run it on minimum graphics.

As far as glitch patching goes, there are three I really wanna see fixed. Sometimes, herbivore AI glitches out and they forget to eat, and end up starving. This is usually fixed by quitting to the main menu and going back in, but I lost two parasaurolophus from this glitch. Additionally, sometimes when you enter the game, you won't have any guests in the park, and your rating will take a hit for a few seconds before it fixes itself. This isn't a huge issue though. Lastly, sometimes the tree textures glitch out and warp across your screen, but I'm pretty sure they fixed it as I haven't seen it lately.

The idea of running jurassic park is cool in all but one thing I would like to see is the human/dinosaur interacting outside of one being eaten, in jurassic world (the movie), one thing I liked was the sort of close interaction but in the end I am disappointed as I never liked the idea of the dinos being shown as monstrous killers that are out for blood, it be better if they were shown to be like normal animals, I would like to see in the game more stuff besides the event pop ups, like what if you had sudden events like, you are forced to shut off the electric fence then you have some idiots climbing the fence into the raptor enclosure. It can cause problems sure, what if the dinos that were hand raised by humans (or certain humans), they are seen acting like dogs. More interaction, like how a strange would come to a fence and dogs would bark at the person, maybe raptors will bark at the person trying to climb the fence. Or maybe the hand raised raptors want you to see the eggs they've made.

    • @Tucher97
      @Tucher97 Рік тому

Ok so I forgot I made this comment but my point is, I would like the idea if the animals acted more like well animals, also I would like the idea of something that is less of a park with fences but a sort of national park.
More Akin to site B, since JWE2 is all over the world, we wont be restricted to tropical aesthetics, like if you have a site B, what if you can earn extra super secret building attachments, but in turn you must take a picture of a triceratops dueling with a bison for right of grazing, or raptors hunting down wild horses, heck what if Site B had minor extra missions that is more like 'hey try this' where you are told that you will be given bonus support for every invasive wild horse that gets mauled by any medium size carnivore.
Heck, I think the one aspect from JPOG that needs to return, the one crucial aspect if we have to shaft other aspects, that is certain dinos can roam around outside of a paddock without downsides.
Hey what if a Bison herd destroys one of your nonelectric fences and if it were a trex, that Trex would not give a fuck about the guests and just eat the Bison, its instantly satisfied.
What if you not only get a sabotage but as a result, your raptor pack decided to hunt down some local wild life and that just left it satisfied for a good while, they do not pay your visitors any mind.
Or mountain Lions climbing into the raptor enclosure.
What if your in Australia and you fuck up on animal releases, you are given a pop up about the local wild life sanctuary for aggressively thanking you for the local Kangaroo population for "being taught humility" and as a result you are given a cash bonus.
Enrichment and shelter is a definitive want in my books.

Yeah the jeeps are really...weird. right now, sometimes It's pretty funny though. And by that I mean two things, when the AI drives over a goat corpse or when you drive full speed into something.
when the AI (not you) drives over a goat body... they just go flying upwards. And driving full speed into something has a chance to make your jeep just start "breakdancing" also I'm pretty sure that they reduced turning controls, and the handbrake in my opinion feels a bit underwhelming now.
